Agreed. Their daughter, when legal to flee, called child services and she was ignored. I think how laws are written in the State of Utah raises the legal bar for police and child services to intervene in families where abuse and neglect is present. Remember, Utah is the state that legalized Freerange Parenting - which degrades the standard of care the parent is required to provide to the bare minimum imo.

When anyone cries at something like this you can just see and feel their pain and how vile the situation is. And when a grown man cries, for me, it’s worse because a lot of the time men don’t show their emotions like that. This poor man and his wife witnessing this and seeing their responses is just awful. And this child who has been abused for a year or more is so polite and asks just for one favor. He’s so kind and strong yet he’s just been through hell. I wonder originally what his second favor was? I’m guessing food and water. Heartbreaking. I hope these kids get the help they need to get through this. The whole family, actually.

I have permanent trauma and brain damage from the last attack when I was 25 and moving out of the family home to get away from the abuse. This one hit home hard. I lived with an abusive uncle for three years. We had no water or electricity. He would starve us out and make us dig outhouses and be slaves to his construction company as punishment. He was an abusive drunk who loved beating up children and weak people. When I first heard that old man on the 911 call, I could feel him breaking down, and it brought back all the trauma. It's okay. I was taught to embrace my demons instead of pretending they're not there. If you see something, say something. I could have ended all of that torture if I had said something. We were too afraid. He definitely knew what was going on. As for him not getting in touch with His kids for a year, he just didn't want the responsibility any more for taking care of them. It was like a vacation for him not to have to deal with the kids. He may blame it on being manipulated, but he definitely knew about Ruby's treatment of the kids and went along with it for years ,and when told to leave he was only thinking of himself. That would be the fake mormon 'I'm happy you're happy we're all happy and this isn't really happening' smile.

Thank you for covering this case. I became aware of Ruby Franke's channel through the Dadchannel podcast who posts about the dangers of people using their children for social media clout and money. She would have a horrible gleeful smile when she talked about punishments in the clips I saw. I hope when they come up for parole in a few years they will stay in jail. The children will need years of therapy

Good lord I just started the vid and didn't remember who exactly Ruby is, and ohh yeahh after seeing her face I figured ohhh it's THIS lady... This is gonna be a wild ride. So exited to hear about the family, but anxious at the same time for all the abuse the children have and apparently still are suffering. Thank you for the quality content This is Monsters.

22:40 Uh, no. Kevin knew about the abuse. He saw nothing wrong with it until he wanted to avoid the bad publicity and threw his wife under the bus. He is just as bad as the other two, and I'm severely disappointed that you chose to portray him as completely innocent.

Haven’t gotten to that point in the video but if that’s true then that’s abhorrent and Jiles knows better than that. The man actively condoned her abusive parenting methods before Jodi was even introduced!!
