Just remember, kids: she may be beautiful, wear alluring dresses, and have a gorgeous house, but don't get in a relationship with crazy. If her basement has a cell, a blood pentagram (w/ cow skull), and wiring that is DEFINITELY not up to code, those are all red flags.

So, speculating here, she killed the elderly occupants of the hause (the two corpses in the basement), made a satanic ritual in wich she was possesed by a devil or made a deal with one in exchange for supernatural powers and set the trap to get back with her exboyfriend. This puts crazy ex in a whole different level. I enjoyed this game too! Fun fact: If you choose to tell Joice that you see her flickering the light she will tell you she is not messing around with them, hinting the ex's trap.

Im just so confused about how this man managed to walk into the wrong house!? At first I thought it was some "multiple dimentions" kinda deal where the pc and the gf both were in the same house, but not the same dimention, and the demonic ex had set up there when the gf was out of town, and spent the game kinda jumping in between the two different versions of the house, or could be in both at once and thus stalk both of them at the same time. But I guess now?!

If anyone is wondering what animations the ghost girl is using while walking / floating / searching hiding places its called "Ghost Creature Anims" and it is a phenomenal pack and I've learned a similar hiding from creature and having it search the spots from a channel called "Matt Aspland" who has great tutorials if you want to learn Unreal same with Ryan Laley The same animation pack also has the animations used when the player hides in this game

I don't want any games I make to be designed that way, I want them all available for free and only money I'd get for anything would just be donations. The biggest problem I feel I will have is access to sounds as I can never find a way to make them myself. Especially for music as I'm never able to find a free software for that

My take away from this game is the message that you don't have to be alone for the holidays as long as you're willing to accept people for what they are

@@Maximoshi normally he talks about those things though, like "I tried to go over to the other house in the beginning but the game wouldn't let me" and "I tried to talk to her at the ring at the tree moment but the game wouldn't let me"

I was hopping Joyce was a cat fish played by the ex girlfriend. The vampire having access to her house going back and forth, her asking you to walk in a blizzard, the light in the window, and allot of stuff seems to point to her being fake.

23:51 the gasp here shows how into it manly got, pure genuine panic that she turned around lol. Also, there's a lot of attention to detail in this game, the reflection of lights off the phone were very realistic and even showed smudges when we were at the window.

TBF most of the A.I We've seen in recent years has been really simplistic, outside of the Xeno in Alien, so he can be forgiven for thinking that. Really really happy she was able to to do that though.

I really like how the starting bedroom is pretty much exactly the same as the unity house, so Manly tried to leave and accidentally entered the bathroom.

While I appreciate there being a hiding mechanic, I gotta say...wouldn't you be able to see someone's legs and such if they hid under a table...? Maybe she sees you, but just feels embarrassed that you thought that was sufficient, so she leaves out of pity.

That is one flexible lady. Why did the guy dump her again? I love how the doctor's note suggests her problems with bright lights aren't even a demonic thing.

That is totally the common default unity house, they just didn't use the default layout, thankfully

the jumpscare isn't as scary as I thought it would be, but her running animation, the atmosphere and the voice acting for sure scares the hell out of me

To cope with heart break. Some talk it out with friends. Some eat a tub of ice-cream. Some chose unorthodox faith and wound up possessed.

I like this game is just "yeah lets try being logic calling the police!" And the suddenly went "Shit! I was wrong! I was need to call the National Guard!"

Manly's reaction to the jumpscare with the crowbar at 43:23 really got me! "OH GOD-ordon Freeman!"

35:04 I was like "I bet there's a jumpscare at the end of this crawling section, how predictable." And then there was a jumpscare and I screamed in terror and woke up my cat.

The atmosphere was so good that I found myself kinda disappointed by the story. I kept expecting there to be a twist with all the little things that didn't line up--how is the ex hunting both of you at once? Why does she repeatedly let you go? Why is MC still no-contact with his parents if the evil ex is the one who caused that? How was MC not lying with "I didn't realize it was her" when he recognizes and lies about her postcard in the beginning? Why does Joyce NEED to light fireworks off even as she's dying? I thought it might be something where Joyce was the real stalker who'd manipulated/gaslighted the ex (then the gf) into taking the fall for her harassment to get MC for herself. Feels kinda cheap for it to just be straightforward "my mentally ill disabled ex was so mad for my dick that she summoned demons."

This was damn good for an Indie game, i only wish it had been a bit longer but the devs did a great job on this one, i'd love to see them add more to it or perhaps do a sequel of some sort, excellent horror game.

Word of advice to everyone: use extreme caution when dating reality bending yanderes.

I honestly thought for sure that Joyce was going to get replaced by the monster in the bad ending - that you don't really kill her but she moves to Joyce's body instead. And possesses her.

Yeah, like, somewhere near the end of the game, when you think you've beaten the demon lady, Joyce calls one more time. You hear static, a woman's scream or something--And then cut back to the normal ending convo. So that way, those who aren't paying attention don't notice the subtle shift in tone of Joyce's voice. Perhaps her voice LITERALLY changes a little, or maybe just her inflections / diction / speech pattern. Then, cue normal ending cutscene. However, Joyce's VERY LAST line while we're looking at the fireworks should say something like "I'm so happy we're together again!" in a way that doesn't make it clear who you're really talking to. Idk. Just a little something to liven up the plot a bit, cause right now even a cliche would be better than how it actually ended.

I was kind of expecting the ex to suddenly pull Mark back when he was trying to finally leave the house in some of the endings. Rule nr. Idk there's a lot of rules MCs never follow in horror. Do not leave the killer/monster's body out of your eye sight by casually leaving. And an extra rule: Do not assume you're safe after the ending credits roll in.

Oh my God this game!!! I have so much praise for it, the optional dialog that influences the endings, the voice acting even if Mark doesn't have one, THE DEVS PICKING MYUU'S MUSIC?! *Chef's kiss* Magnifico!!! This single horror game not only delivered on a lot, but it also told and portrayed a better love story than most Hallmark movies today do and then some. Here's to Matt and Joyce's marriage!!! 🍺

Agreed! I was definitely invested in the plot. The voice acting was so good for the love interest. She had so much personality. I think it is interesting that the “will it work out” aspect of the romance was so effective in a horror game. I think it came from the fact that the player didn’t know if the main character was crazy or not at first. I was so afraid that it would have a bleak twist ending like that. “She was never real. Oops, you just killed your girl friend” This fear made the happy ending so much more rewarding. I really do think that the main conflict of the game is not about surviving the monster. It is a symbol of the main character moving on from a bad relationship and trying to love again.

The couples dynamic is really good for a horror game. No “I believe this crazy thing because you said so” or “I will not believe anything you say” if you just make the right choices, which isn’t always bad option good option and has some nuance. The girlfriend’s performance also knocked it out of the park. Maybe a little cheesy, but believable.

See this is the reason a lot of people aren't doing traditional relationships right now. You break up and she gets superpowers. That said, when she vented I found that suspicious. This is one of those games that completionist will replay to the point where the monster stops being scary but it does the job. I hope if the game goes the trial and error route it's generous with the save points. I'm just sayin'.

But she made her way back to what she thinks is her "own house", which is this house, after she found mark wasnt in his. This would mean outsiders perceived this house as hers nontheless of its actual location in space in time. A sort of memetic hazard if u will.

Everything about this game; its writing, the AI of the monster, the atmosphere of the stealth sections, the cheesy voice acting; they're all REALLY good... which makes me not appreciate that death screen animation even more.

I've seen worse, but it stuck out compared to the quality of the rest of the game.

I was actually pretty impressed with this game, ngl. I was ready for your normal cheese, and to a degree it was, but those devs really put a nice personal touch on things. I also loved how they didn't feel the need to go too deep with the Big Bad's back story. They just left it at "ya she really just went nuts" and I love it, haha. It helped keep the momentum of the story moving forward and the focus on escaping

Hey,just wanted to say that lately it has been really rough for me and your uploads really brighten my days (well nights since I watch your videos before bed)

So...our character must go around his house daily in full winter gear the way he just waltzed outside. I would love if you got a completely different game/ending by leaving that window and front door open, everything goes well with the girlfriend and you return home hours later or the next morning and everything's frozen cuz it looks like a super-blizzard outside, all your electronics and appliances are dead and pipes and vents all frozen...a real life nightmare far worse than most of these horror games.

Ex: *wants to marry and consume me* Me: at least take me to dinner first

Some people would say that a scary ex girlfriend sounds too good to be true; but I know that Manly isn’t joking when he tells you that she may be stalking you.

I’m surprised that there was not a choose the stalker girl after all ending. There are some people that would choose it.

Sure the ex is an absolute snack but those dark rooms with the music lightly playing are my favorite parts of this game.

What I find weird early on is that you don't recognize your GF's house. I assume you've visited her home since you got a ring for her to propose.

I'm genuinely amazed how quality this was for an indie horror game, especially the more somber take on the Christmas music. CHILLS.

It's actually a good horror game for an indie company. 10/10 Love the fact that the ex can peek and shit💀

This had some good scares! I do think the phone calls are what make it for me, Joyce's VA is doing a solid job here. The endings have a bit more variety than I expected too.

I agreed with all of Manly's choices as he made them, except the lie about the Christmas Card. Lying and saying it was from your parents could have came back to bit you in dozens of ways.

With the worst ending I like how Joyce is nearing death but the MC just walks slowly to her house like whatever. Doesn’t even say anything to her like I love you or hang on 😂 just cold silence…

"Hey Santa, for Christmas I want a beautiful gothic gf- wait why are you laughing?"

Also, once the police officer died why didn't Joyce just call for more police to come? It's not like they're going to roll their eyes and hang up if you say the unit that came out was murdered

when he opened the door and the ex jump out looking like she wanted a hug, when you said "oh thank god it was just a symbolic winning" it took me a whole 10 secs or so to understand then I laughed so much that my stomach hurt. not only was I hurt physically, but also emotionally thanks to your joke. good job👍

The dev just really hates any kind of lying or embelishment- Which I find wouldn't be very helpful in the event of a nosferatu attack- as 99% people would just think you were crazy.
