Finally I started playing scrum, this video is so cool for any beginners. I have been learning guitar for 10 days and I do practice one hour daily, you just need to have patience. Don't complain about this series, all videos are wonderful, very soon I will upload one video on scrum. If you want to subscribe not to miss the video, all are welcome. And few tips before starting: 1. Cut you nails because you can't press the strings properly. 2. Stretch fingers before starting. 3. Take a gentle finger massage in between because you'll have a lot of pain on finger tip 4. Just one hour everyday, and play slow 5. A lots of time your finger will touch another strings too, it will happen for few days 6. Record yourself everyday, it feels good when you see how you started until scrum :) 7. Stop making excuses And finally a ton of thanks to you. Sir, you're AMAZING. Please wish me good luck :)

I had a guitar and a book once. I learned absolutely nothing, was frustrated and finally gave the guitar away. My wife bought me a cheap acoustic for Christmas, and although I am having a hard time finding time to practice sufficiently I am now able to play and switch between these two chords, and even have a simple "song" I play while practicing. I am totally stoked and looking forward to being able to switch between the chords in Lesson 9. I'm 42 and never thought I would be able to play music but now my dreams are being realized. +Pickle The best way to record acoustic guitar is with at least one condenser mic (Small Diaphragm typically). That will plug into an audio interface, and then into your computer which will need some sort of DAW like Garage Band, Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, etc. :)

I just bought and tuned my first own guitar, and I appreciate so, so much that these videos are here. I tried learning from text-based tutorials but it's so much easier when you see it in motion. I have somewhat stubby fingers and based on how our music teacher used to teach basic guitar in senior high I thought I wouldn't be able to play a normal-necked acoustic, yet here I am.. Working on putting my fingers on strings without looking right now, I can remember how to form the chords in my mind but my fingers are still lost unless I stop to look at them for a while. :D I'll give it a day or two of practise so I get my fingers to obey me better on the neck of the instrument, and probably learn these two chords as I go, and then move on to the following videos. :) Guitar playing has been a dream of mine since forever yet I've been too poor to have one, but now I finally got one, and I decided to learn to play before moving on to a higher cost electric. Thanks for these videos, they are REALLY good! \m/

Having small hands won't really hinder you much. There are many players with all sizes of hands. It's all about technique, and building up flexibility over time. Try pulling your elbow closer into your body. This can put your hand in a better position to reach the notes. You might also want to try using the classical method for holding the guitar with a footstool, or standing/sitting with a strap. This will bring the guitar up higher and put it in a better position for reaching the notes also.

thank you for taking the time to put this together I am 36 and always wanted to play guitar I finally made the commitment and these videos are by far the best, developing muscle memory callouses and proper posture are a challenge that I'm working on as you said my fingers hurt bad but I know they'll be fine soon

I have a problem, when I place the tip of my fingers on (directly in front of) the 2nd fret of the D (4th) String, I get a buzzing sound. However, when my finger is directly behind the second fret, the buzzing is gone, is this normal?

My 3rd finger for C chord, can't reach the end of the fret, but comes somewhere in the middle, and i basically cant distinguish between Am7 and C major chords' sounds. I have to 1st put 3rd finger and then 2nd and 1st, instead the other way round, in order to have a perfect position for C (which thus actually involves a lot of shifting) What should be appropriate from here?

I'm right handed should I be strumming with my right? Because it's hard for me to use my left to do the notes and my fingers are short and fat and it hit the bottom string I tried to use my right to do the notes and it seems easier.

I'm having problems with the C major chord, as it's hard for me to place that third finger behind the fret, while keeping the other two fingers behind the first and the second frets, as the third finger automatically goes upwards, and my whole hand just bends in an awkward way. Am I doing something wrong? or should I continue with this, and hope to get better ?

I have a really hard time playing the first A min 7 chord. The first finger on the first fret of the B string is next to impossible. I always mute the E string or can't press down hard enough on the B string. It seems either my nailbeds are just too long (even when I cut off the white parts they still stick out somewhat), or I don't have the necessary finger strength. Is it my hand position that's the problem?
