What a match… such a pleasure that Zhao was… confident and controlled player… what an opening game and then some excellent precision shots… people who play the game know,that this much control is something extraordinary….not easy
The young lad is a beast
It was great to watch him get Ronnie under pressure. But it was sad to watch how Luca defeated him. But thn Luca ended up winning the trophy. This tournament was great to watch overall. Watched it many times. Thanks to Ceaser.

I've seen this a few times already: still lovely to watch for the quality of Xintong's cueing and the look of pleased amusement on Ronnie's face as he sees a young natural talent effortlessly carving them up as he, Ronnie, himself did as a youngster.

As this Chinese player has just been crowned UK champion in a tournament full of surprises (Sunday 5th December to be precise and commiserations to Belgium's Luca Brecel in Sunday night's final), this was Zhao in the 2016 English Open and nearly gave Ronnie a fright. A year later, Sunny Akani nearly did in a UK Championship match. Zhao's UK win on Sunday ensured that the last three titles have gone abroad. Ronnie O'Sullivan remains the last player from the Home Nations to win the UK title (2018).

Clearance of table in one visit is a norm these days. The champions are the ones who make the least or no mistakes regardless of age! Great that Ronnie O'Sullivan is planning or has opened a Snooker School in Singapore. We have had Joe Davis, Alex Higgins, Steve Davis, Mike Ferrara from India playing at Singapore Cricket Club some years ago...on our ONE PIECE SLATTED TABLE. Whilst we have our World Billiards Champion

Watching this, after seeing him live on German Masters last Sunday 😮👍 He is so calm sitting in his corner almost freezing and waiting for his turn, and than just like butterfly moves around table, and brings awesome shots… 9:0 was really impressive 🔥

@@gregoryconnor9333 Zhao Xintong from China, the surprise winner of the UK Championship. He has all the qualities of surpassing what his compatriot Ding Junhui did when he was in the world's top sixteen for many years. China have yet to win the world title, Ding came close in 2016.

That 9:0 whitewash was sheer brilliance. He is star in the making.
Zhao Xintong could've played even better against any other player, but it wouldn't have had a similar impact as it did in this match against Ronnie O'Sullivan. That's incredible for young Zhao, but it's a testament to Ronnie's brilliance and the sheer impact that he's made on the game as a whole. The game-changing effect that a man can have on the game only once in a generation, a century or even in the entire history of the game, like Tiger Woods had on Golf, or Michael Schumacher on F1, Michael Jordan on basketball, Muhammad Ali on boxing and so on. The greatest of the greats.

I was impressed with Zhao-calm demeanour which lead to good shot selection and excellent potting skills.This was a good match.
The Chinese are focused. Great match
This was a surreal match to watch, at a blink it was like watching 2 Ronnie's. Zhao doesn't #### around when he plays, he plays with purpose and power, great cue action as well. Like Ronnie he also plays by the sword and with vulnerability, of which makes him very watchable too. Of course since then he's shown his class with 2 great tournament wins and has done quite a few demolition jobs. If anybody wondered where the next Ronnie was going to emerge from - this kid is it.

I played pool for many years (narrow pocket 9ft tables) and three-cushion billiards, not professionally but as an almost full-time hobby :)

Very close match, gave Ronnie a bit of a scare I’d say.
My god this young player can hang with the best. I heard Stephen Hendry said he now works as a coach in China. Perhaps these players are the results of his handy work. I can see some of his similar style in some young Chinese players.

The way zhao control the cue ball look similar with ronnie gameplay. The different among them is just which hand they use to play. But ronnie is rare because he can play both hand. 😆
