That same year, she sang for the Nobel peace prize winners all at the age of 8. Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Great reaction! Angelina and KORK(Norwegian Radio Orchestra) just did a magnificent rendition of Unchained Melody! The perfect song for Narges Mohammadi Nobel Peace Prize! Third time with KORK, she did Back to Black and Summertime when she was 10! Has been invited twice to Nobel Peace Prize, previously appeared when she was eight! And let’s not forget Angelina’s Iranian heritage and Oslo is her hometown! Narges is in jail for leading the fight for women’s rights in Iran! At the end Angelina puts her hand over her heart acknowledging Narges children who were on stage and happen to be Angelina’s age and are living in exile in France! She was codified a National Treasure of Norway by the King and Prime Minister when she was eight years old! Angelina has brought grace and elegance back to the stage! I loved watching that reaction Aaliyah, you have such a gorgeous expressive face :) Angelina is worth a study and is an inspiration to every singer, I think. You are an amazing singer yourself too and that gives weight to your words. Yes Angelina took a risk when she came in high and soft at the end there, the voice can easily break up and that would have been a small disaster, really. Great to have you back reacting to Angelina Jordan again, Aaliyah. Thanks for posting about Narges Mohammadi in your description. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony. This performance of hers is charming and wonderfully intimate, she made this legendary song perfectly suited for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi's story! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", probably the only singer who at only 17 years old has already sung on 2 different occasions at the celebrations of Nobel Prizes.💛🧡❤

What a great cover. This song always brings me back to the movie "Ghost," of course, with Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers singing that version. I was today years old when I found out that this song was made for a movie called "Unchained," hence the name "Unchained Melody." According to Wikipedia. I'm glad to hear you verify, as An Actual Singer, what I've said in the past about how pulling back on that final high note and singing it quieter actually makes it harder to pull off. (I'm not a singer myself, but I've learned a few things from my own attempts to sing along with Angelina over the years. Not that I can sing this one anywhere near as well as she does!) She first sang this song publicly on a TV talk show called _Lindmo_ (named after the host) when she was 9 (almost 10). In that performance, she didn't quite "nail the dismount" as she lost the note right at the end, just as she stopped vocalizing. Here that didn't happen, of course, but you could hear that she was at least flirting with that possibility. I think she could easily have "played it safe" and not pulled back quite so much, but presumably that would have sacrificed too much of the emotion. As usual (ISTM), Angelina opted for getting the feeling right over simply singing the notes perfectly. (BTW, I think that long, held note at the beginning of the final word, "me", is one of the most beautiful notes I've ever heard. I like how the orchestra went silent to spotlight that moment.) That talk show appearance at 9 is well worth reacting to, BTW. Hearing the same song performed at a much younger age (see kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYSar9yGlaWyktI.html ) would, I think, be interesting for you, and the interview portion ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/X5d3rqaSYKa5ips.html which immediately followed the song) might be even more impactful.

It’s nice to see someone with a trained classical voice recognize the phenomenal control Angelina has over her vocal cords and also her amazing breath control that enables her to sing any genre of music from jazz to country to gospel to pop to movie themes to rhythm and blues to classical (Song for A by Nico Cartosio), just like one of her idols, Elvis Presley. Her name is Emma Kok who is 15 years old, and is an inspiration Singing with Andre Rieu on the stage singing “Voila”. Awesome reaction like always. We appreciate your open mind and unbiased critiques. A great song to react to is a orchestral death metal band called Fleshgod Apocalypse and a great song would be “No” though it does have some swearing, the mixture between the orchestra and the guitars are absolutely flawless. They also make orchestral instrumentals for most of their songs. You will be pleasantly surprised if you check that out.
