The first performance is from Norwegian TV, when Angelina was 9 years old and after she sang the song, she was interviewed about her book "Between Two Hearts" being published. That book tells the story why she always performs barefoot. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

I believe that Angelina said this was inspired by ELVIS’ version, and she had to convince the KORK orchestra that the much slower version she had arranged WOULD WORK. 😊 KORK and Angelina had worked together before , they also knew of Angelina’s childhood dream to perform at the Nobel Prize Ceremony ,so they knew Angelina would have deliberated over this . Angelina knew that she would be singing to Narges’ husband and her 17 yr old twins , who received the prize on behalf of their incarcerated mother .It’s such a tragic tale , and Angelina delivered , I believe a perfect tribute .

She is on a level as an artist reserved for only one person. And she just turned 18 on Jan 10th. What's so much fun is when I hear people who are music coaches begin to tell us what she is doing during one of her performances. You would think it was nuclear scientist telling us about all the mechanics involved in sending an astronaut to the moon. The depth of everything she puts into a song is something people in the industry marvel at and they are in total awe of her. For us 'regular guys' (🙂) we know she touches our hearts when she sings for us and, like you suggested, it can happen in any genre and any arrangement. But one thing we know for sure, the message of love in the song which she is covering will be presented to us like we've never heard before. only Angelina...

Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize Dec. 2024 This is Angelina Jordan the most extraordinary storyteller in my lifetime. Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. In that moment, Angelina Jordan became a vessel for something greater-an embodiment of love itself. Her voice carried us beyond our own pain and loneliness. We felt connected-to her, to each other, to something intangible yet profound. As she held that final note, time snapped back into place. The applause erupted-a thunderous acknowledgment of what we had just witnessed. But it wasn't just applause; it was gratitude-for allowing us to glimpse love and longing through Angelina's eyes. And so, we stood there, hearts full, tears in our eyes. Angelina Jordan had given us something rare-a reminder that love exists even in our brokenness. And for those few minutes, we believed it with every fiber of our being. ©

Her performance at 9 was 100% perfection. But her Nobel performance was next lever perfection. I believe she was subtle due to the solemnness' of the occasion. Amazing how a full blown orchestra maintained the volume low enough to not over power her.

Angelina’s ability to interpret music is so advanced for ANY age. Her timing, pitch, styling emotion have been off the charts since I heard at age 7. Seeing live (3 times) is so much more impressive than her recordings. How she can sing that well for 3 hours as a soloist is beyond me.

Regarding her version at the Nobel Peace Prize concert..., Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference. Thank you for providing artist links to the official channel and video in your description, and encouraging your viewers to use those links as you do for your own channel. That will help ensure her success and her goal of spreading peace and love to the world.

Angelina frequently slows down songs, and it works beautifully. On most of her arrangements, especially the acoustic ones, there’s nowhere for her voice to hide. And we get perfection like we just heard-in many different genres. Angelina is the most complete singer I’ve ever heard. A voice for the ages, incredible musicality, and the ability to arrange iconic songs in a way we haven’t heard, but that we love immediately. If you want to see her in a completely different genre that you’d never expect, watch her covers of 1960’s soul. You might think you now know what to expect with Angelina, but she will blow you away. Try her James Brown cover of It’s a Man’s World: kzread.info/dash/bejne/enmhmdaAos2ve84.htmlsi=-hq0t36JrjeZ74YI Or her unbelievable cover of Etta James: I’d Rather Go Blind: kzread.info/dash/bejne/on9sz6-RgcWZj6w.htmlsi=N3sUqSTeqBBc9nNr

That sustained note when she hits the falsetto is just beautiful! I feel I'd like to make a video of Angelina's Greatest Notes, because there are some wonderful moments. The first video was from a Norwegian TV show in which she was interviewed about her book, Between Two Hearts, which had just been published (at age 9). The interview itself is well worth listening to. Thanks for your great reaction.

Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I believe Angelina accomplished her mission to convey the longing and LOVE Narges has for her twin children and for all the women in Iran. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Thank you Andy for this back story, I watched the entire tribute to Narges Mohammadi live prior to listening to Angelina sing, but also knowing Angelina's family history and that this was her life dream made her performance so much more powerful for me then just watching her performance alone. I commented to recommend he watch James Thiel's video on this song, unfortunately James had to remove some content he made regarding the movie due to copyright restrictions but it still gives a full enough picture.

Outstanding reaction! I had the great experience of setting 3 rows directly behind Bobby Hatfield's Mother at the taping of the Andy Williams show in 1965 when Bobby did his first performance of this song! It was his Mother's first time to ever hear him on a stage, and he was rather nervous! I was already familiar with the song, and it was one of my all time favorites. That night hearing Bobby sing it, it became my all time number one song! For many years I did not think anyone would ever sing it better than Bobby, not even Elvis! Then one day in 2015 I saw and heard the video you just played from when Angelina was 9. Something told me that this was the person who would one day do my favorite song better than Bobby. I went to Her concert in Portsmouth NH last Sept. 22 where she did a very slowed down version! I knew from the first line she was going to best Bobby! AND SHE DID, and I cried all the way thru the song! Then in Dec. she did this Pease Prize performance, and I was not sure which performance was better! Then Feb. 29th 2024 she performed it again in Vegas! All 3 are different from the other 2! All 3 are great, outstanding, fantastic, other worldly performances! Now the best is the one I last listened to!

Thanks my friend for doing both of these...the 9 year old version on Lindmo show, Norwegian TV is one of my favorites. She did an interview on this show regarding the release of her new book, "Between Two Hearts" at, again, age 9 that she wrote regarding why she is bare foot when performing, youngest publisher in Norway ever, and the interview with the host here Ann Lindmo is extraordinary to listen to...not very long but well worth viewing to get the insight into this remarkable child, it is also a YT upload that accompanies this wonderful version of Unchained Melody she did here. Even if on your own time...well worth watching. Cheers and thanks for doing both of these....much appreciation. BTW, do not believe her voice is in full "maturation" here....she is just 17, has a number of years yet, according to vocal experts, for this voice to get even better....that is a little scary to other current "stars" I would suppose.

Andy Williams has been my favorite male singer since I was 10 years old in 1959. He recorded this song way back when it first came out in late 50’s. Hats off to Bobby for his most popular arrangement and fantastic performance of this song. Angelina was 9 years old on his first version and followed Bobby ‘s version. Then in December 2023 at 17 AJ slowed it down and in my opinion performed the best cover of this song ever done.

Yet her fans flew from all over the world. She did two concerts the same day. Total over 40 songs. There is a clip of this song too. Its interesting in front of Nargis Mohammedis children. So this was tender delicate and very emotional. In Vegas it's more robust but still brilliant.

The funny thing about her singing this in the same key both times is, she actually didn't hit the lowest notes very much stronger at 17 than she did at 9. (Or, more to the point, she did almost as well at 9 as she did at 17!) I mean, yes, she really needed to reach quite a bit for that note (D3) when she was younger (and it could be argued that she didn't actually even hit the note), but I wouldn't say she seemed very much more comfortable with that note in the second performance. She kind of "threw it away" both times she sang it. Clearly this is at the very bottom of her "natural range". Presumably she can hit it more easily on some days than others (I find the same thing to be true for me, when I sing along with her an octave lower). For the record, the lowest note we've ever heard from her (AFAIK) is "on paper" a C3 (but I think she dropped a bit lower than that, because it sounds to me like she was trying to swoop up from below the note - if you can believe that!) sung very breathily in her cover of "How Great Thou Art" at age 12.

To fully understand why Angelina sang Unchained Melody at the Nobel Peace Prize this way with the cadence, tone and to appreciate the performance more I recommend you watch James Thiel's video as he goes though her story, history, connections and purpose in this Nobel Peace Prize Tribute as well as much more, be sure to read the text in the video as it holds the key. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hmqd07Z8gMivdpc.html

Listen to her breathe in at 1:26 in this reaction video. That sounds like chest congestion to me. Could she have been sick in this first performance, or getting over being sick? The mind reels… (There are several performances [and some accompanying behind-the-scenes footage] from December 2014 where it's pretty obvious that she was sick. So, it is not completely out of the question that she might have also been sick in this performance from November 2015.)

To me she looks ten years old here... Could be 9 years old late in the year.... Precious moment

Sweet reaction, thanks. Angelina has 2 other KZread videos of her performing with the KORK, Norwegian National Radio Orchestra, in 2016 (10 years old). "Summertime" (kzread.info/dash/bejne/pairqJatmZTaksY.htmlsi=dqIvt0r6nHA27XeZ). and. "Back to Black" (kzread.info/dash/bejne/fpaMt62zf9unc7g.htmlsi=0rclAkUbkWSgyxgy)

ANGELINA IS already, and has been, A-Star .... As it is actually her real last name Astar.... Jordan being her middle name.
