I also think from an educational point of view, having a friendly rescue keel bill that was treated well by the previous owner will be a good addition to the flock. He will be good for showing the difference in temperament between a hand reared vs (suspected) wild caught bird. Like Lalo and Rhia kind of already do that but having one that is the same species as Beatrix and Jade will really highlight the difference :) Already he has shown us what a keel bill’s tail feathers are supposed to look like.

Yeah, like right off the bat in a hectic change of environment, he is calm and enjoys good people. They were obviously great caretakers and probably very sad to let him go. Fortunately, fate happens. ❤ Brock is ecstatic and I'm sure the 4cans will embrace him.

He's definitely one of the most chill Keel Bills I've seen. I think he'll fit into the flock perfectly.

The expression on his face says he's pretty comfy and chill already 😍 looks like the start of another great relationship and flock member. The price certainly was right and his person must have loved him and wanted him to have a happy life so they were more concerned about him being happy than money, awesome people.

I appreciate his previous family so much for not only caring for him as well as they clearly did but also giving him up when they knew he needed more than they could provide. Really heart warming to see. He really is going to enjoy his life with Brock and flock, the best place for him really. Ok so name ideas! If he doesn’t have one already- I kinda like Sonny for him, he’s got such a sunny carefree vibe.

glad they were a family that didnt want money for rehoming a bird, its a challenge to take in a bird in any situation, i was already getting used to some new birds of mine when suddenly someone wanted to rehome their macaw who's owner just passed and the widow just wanted the bird to go to someone who would be able to hand the bird at all. this HUUGE green wing was nooot happy to see me, and like what you said at 9:48 i totally get, cuz once i spent 30 min trying to get this screaming defensive cage bound macaw out, they owner was like, yeah i trust you with my bird. that is such an honor. gl with the new non violent keel bill dude!

Oh Brock…at this point you ARE the Toucan Man. Keep at it! You’re doing great after starting from nothing. Can you talk about some of his bobbing behavior when you had him in the bathroom (before you turned on the water)? I don’t think I’ve seen your other birds bob like that on camera. I assume you mean in the mirror?Bobbing is something they all do. I'm sure the others have done it in a video or stream at some point. They usually bob up and down to call attention to something. In this case he was seeing himself which is probably not something he's used to seeing. It's usually paired with their call but not always. They do it when they see a new person a lot.

Him waddling under the covers was super cute! And he's so sweet, sorta reminds me of Tupac. Rapper name for this guy too? If he does take a mate, you might have to call him Big Papa 😆

i believe it's normal for toucans to have looser bands as they are put on in a later stage of development as on other birds. At least that's the case for my hornbill xD correct me if i am wrong.

@@LathropLdST I actually do and I only recall of Brock very adamant in not get toucans from shops, only rescued ones. But even if he doesn't want breeding toucans... is it possible to prevent them to lay eggs? I mean, they are same species, opposite genders, if they mate they may lay eggs. It's not like you can neuter birds. *shrugs*

@@IllyDragonfly I have a memory of Brock saying that toucans in captivity that have grown up around humans are not easy to breed. Possibly because they view their human caretaker as their mate. Sounds like toucans need as little human intervention as possible to be able to breed in captivity.

From Mexico.. It's more than likely not organically grown.... they spray a lot of bad chemicals down there .. I'd be going full organic if I was a bird owner/KZreadr ...
