You won't believe this is at Bedroom Volume Level! Tone King Gremlin

I'm playing a Tone King Gremlin trough a Marshall 1x12 with a '71 Celestion Greenmback G12H30 55Hz in it using a 1975 Gibson Flying V, the Gremlin has an internal Iron man attenuator that I'm hitting hard and the amp retains, punch and spatial definition beautifully.

I was going to buy one. Played it for almost an hour at my local store. Told the salesman, who knows me well, that I need something to play and stay in the living room. I was sold on the Gremlin, when he said try the Marshall DSL 1watt. LOVED IT, through a 212 Orange cab (have one at home). Left the Gremlin on the shelf, left the store with a DSL1, and a pocket load of money the salesman saved me...even after I tipped him.

Played a 2021 gibosn original collection flying V the other day and it was an amazing guitar . The Burstbucker 2 and 3 are perfect pickups for flying V and despite the fact that it was a flying V the middle position tone sounded extremely close to Jimmy pages 1975/1977 middle position tone . Did not sound like page on the bridge pickup or neck playing by themselves but on the middle position It had the page Nasal tone with all the quack and Honk you hear from page when he used the middle position in the mid 80s. It had that live over the hills and far away solo tone . I found it rather surprising coming from a flying V and completely unexpected especially where neither pickup alone really had the page sound. In the right les paul a BB2 neck and BB3 bridge can be quite page sounding . The Ace Frehely 59 replica with custombnucker neck and Burstbucker 3 neck does a mean Page tone I'm all 3 positions and sounds more like vantage page then the actual page replicas but pages guitars were replicated as they were in the 2000s and the original electronics were mostly long gone from those guitars when they were copied and because of replaced pickups replaced pots and replaced wiring harnesses those guitars are quite different sounding compared to the zep era and Gibson reported how the guitars sounded in the early 200Os and many owners have stated that the jimmy page custombuckers did a great job of covering the more modern page sound of the 1990s but were not much like his vintage tone which makes sense as they were copying the guitars as they were and where the Ace 59 still had all its original wiring and pickups it still sounded like it aways did Edwin Wilson stated that replicating the sound of pages guitars as they were required him to develop a new pickup and his goal was not to create a vintage sounding PAF clone but to create a pickup that matched the tone of pages guitars as they were at that time . He also confirmed that he did not just stick An Alnico 3 magnet in a standard Burstbucker and call it a custom page pickup and that a different wire was used and different winding pattern and although not identical in sound the modern custombucker is based on the page pickups which were the first custombucker based on the sound they have been tweaked and modified to work in a wider variety of Gibson custom shop guitars where the page custombuckers were designed to to replicate the sound a specific guitar with specific tonal properties weight and neck Carve pages tone in the 90s was very bright clean and biting with a dry low mid Grunt which might not be an appealing tone to all players and the page custombuckers were a very bright biting and aggressive sounding pickup particularly in the bridge and alot of owners did like the bridge as much as the neck as the bridge did not really do vintage page as much as they hoped . The page custom pickups were quite a bit more bright and aggressive than the modern custombucker or any of The BB1 BB2 or the 3
