@kevinhart46 no one said it wasn’t deadly, a 22lr is deadly. It’s the asinine assumption that because an AR fires it that it must be super evil. In reality, it’s on the low end of the spectrum in comparison with other rifle rounds in terms of “power”.

@kevinhart46 seeing a man catch a 150gn .308 round in the leg is an eye opener - 3/4"?? Try 3-4" (more like 8+ depending on the amount of soft tissue at the exit wound) so getting shot with a .223? Sure, not good. but to the point, it's still kind of low on the devastation scale :)

It comes down to what they want to ban, the most popular caliber and rifles that way anything more powerfull, would also be banned. Thats their tactics.

Obviously those nuts never shot a .17wmr. Now those are devastating. They will absolutely explode cans of vegetables. I was really impressed how bad those little things were.

Good video 👍 Years ago a white tail deer was brought in to be processed, that had been shot with full auto 5.56. There was a straight line with ten 5.56 holes from shoulder to its rib cage. Inside of deers rib cage was a bloody mess..

🇺🇲🦅💜🙏🏼💜☕☕ Thank You so much for a simple Fact Filled video. I 100% agree with you and your facts... Very easy to understand, IF you are talking to someone that doesn't have their mind made up, with the pure nonsense that the media pedals. I wouldn't ever think about hunting anything bigger than varmints with 5.56. Way too many uncontrollable variants to deal with. I was born and raised during the days of 30-30, 30-06, and 8mm for deer. After much testing on my own, I decided on .270 Winchester with 130 gr. BT But, I spent time at the range and read every article I could find about it. I guess that was just the "Old School" way of doing things. Too bad those days are long gone. Many blessings to you and your Family. Take care and stay safe. 🇺🇲🦅💜🙏🏼💜☕☕

I am new to Kentucky. Moved out here from Colorado right at two years ago now. I live between Salem and Marion in Crittenden County. Anyway, I did some research on the hunting laws and learned that you can't legally use FMJ projectiles for hunting in Kentucky. So if you are going to use a .223 or 5.56 for these (I gotta laugh) little bitty White Tails, you have to use a soft point or other expanding bullet. As for your subject matter in this video, I guess when someone starts lamenting the horrors of these nasty firearms and ammunition, I just turn and walk away. At 67 years old, I guess I've grown weary of trying to educate the ignorant, spoon fed by the media hand wringers. Be safe. Keep your eyes wide open and God bless.

An easy wat to explain it is to say "The AR is more powerful than most pistols and less powerful than most rifles" and then show people a picture of a 30-06 next to a 5.56 next to a 9mm. You can throw in a 12 gauge shell as well. That will persuade people that are willing to be persuaded at which point you can further state that the 5.56 was designed for intermediate ranges against intermediate sized targets, which is why it is smaller and less powerful than most rifle bullets. Comparison photos are easy to find online.

In my opinion the primary advantage of 5.56 is in capacity and weight. In terms of actual performance it seems obvious that 7.62/.308 or 6.5, etc are all much better rounds. But for the US military, which has to ship ammunition all over the world, the 5.56mm is good enough while having a smaller logistics footprint. Even down to the individual soldier level, it is just easier and cheaper to carry more magazines of 5.56mm. And that has simply carried over to civilian use.

  • @TheKentuckyPatriot

Great video Bud! One of the founders of Safariland was my boss for about 10 years... I'm going to go out on a limb and say he knew more about body armor than your average shooter. He told me one time that they could make body armor that could stop about any bullet but not one that would stop about any bullet from killing you. His point was the energy involved in a fast moving bullet had to go somewhere and that could compress your chest enough to kill you. He also said "if it can make a hole in you it can kill you "
