    Clearly a masterful exposition. Oddly entertaining also, which certainly is a plus. The only problem with this excellent video is that it is so good that I can hardly control the impulse to purchase your book immediately. Probably like most chess hobbyists who understand what you are saying, the real problem is that impulsive and undisciplined middle and endgame play keep me from progressing to a point where strategic and tactical subtleties actually make a difference, statistically speaking. That said, I love your content and hope subscribership will rise to numbers that justly reward and reflect the quality of your work.

    The reason people suck at the London is they suck at chess. It's not that the opening is bad... is that YOU are bad... for this opening to work you have to be at least 1500 elo. Anything below 1500 elo and you're just setting yourself up to blunder pieces and rage quit. I'm 700 elo and I have a 75% win rate against this opening as black, and a 70% lose rate with this opening as white. This is NOT a beginner's opening.... reason being: once you develop both bishops to where they're supposed to be, and both the knights, pawn to c3 and castled... good luck trying to find what the next move is. The opening doesn't generate any inherent advantage, doesn't attack anything, and doesn't bait any mistakes from black. For the love of God, if you're a chess teacher, stop pushing this bs opening on beginners. This is NOT an opening for people who are just starting out.

  • @AlexBanzea

    @AlexBanzea

    London is boring only if you don't know what you are doing. In reality it's filled with a lot of typical tactics and very solid strategical foundation. You can play solid or aggressive, hard to name other opening that is more balanced.

    @@AlexBanzea Hi, thanks for the reply, in the video you recommended this line for black 1.d4 d5 2. Bf4 c5 3. e3 Nc6 4. c3 Qb6 where white has almost no advantage. However, 1.d4 d5 2. Bf4 c5 3. e3 Nc6 4.Nf3 Nf6 5. Nd2, white has transposed to the best way to play for advantage using Bf4 as the second move. I don't see why 1.d4 d5 2. Bf4 move order is inaccurate, is there maybe another line that refutes this move order?

    3:20 is this really the reason? I mean, white wasted a time with the capture, but they will need to waste 1-2 moves to move the knight into a good square, even with the fact that they traded their weak bishop, this knight at a6 is a horrendous piece

  • @AlexBanzea

    @AlexBanzea

    Жыл бұрын

    Sure it takes time for black to reroute the knight, but if you think about it logically, wouldn’t it be better to have an extra tempo as white anyways? Anyways even with that extra tempo black should be in time to maneuver back the knight with a solid position and objective equality, but that’s how we put the most pressure on them. (Quick mention that if you are below 1800 blitz on chesscom nobody will play this ba6 idea and you will be simply better as white).

    hey man. amazing video. but I just wanted to ask something about the London system. what is your main idea if your opponent doesn’t castle?

  • @AlexBanzea

    @AlexBanzea

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey! It's not an easy question to ask since it really depends on the position. Usually you can play Ne5 against 1...d5 lines and meet ...Nxe5 dxe5 ...Nd7 and in some positions Qg4-hitting the g7-pawn is interesting. Also a typical rule is to open up the poisiton when the enemy king is stuck in the center. I hope that helps!
