Excellent game ! daniel played really well and c5 is the way to equality for black if he plays precise moves. Kudos to Magnus for playing e3 instead of e4 in anticipation that his opponent is very familiar to JL. In the end Daniel lost probably due to time pressure. Excellent Nd4 move by Daniel though in anticipation of the smother mate opportunity, insane how he could see it in a bullet game !

Thank you for the instructive video. Smothered mate is my absolute favorite mating pattern & I almost always see it instantly in puzzles but I've never gotten it on the board to my knowledge & actually won a game with it. Are there principled ways to try to set up certain mate patterns, like smothered?

He can play Qc3. The problem is this is a bullet game and Danya just didn't have the time to think of it. There was 1 minute on the clock when the game started.

I don't know if using bullet for opening source is really a good idea or not. Edit: I guess if it's about the structure than it's fine.
