Alas, no bridge for Black to cross the chasm at e5. Very nifty performance by the former champ. John, my boy, you’re some story teller. Excellent.

Analyzes genius play by world champion. Conclusion: "so as you can see WE can still win when nothing seems to work". Haha, if only things were that easy. Great video!

Yes thats all right. Probably in this game he showed, he is the best endgame, middlegame and opening player.

Enjoyed the commentary and subscribed. You call Magnus the greatest endgame-player of all time. But there are some others who can well compete with him, such as Lasker, Aljekhin, Smyslow, Fischer. The last named champion was well-known for his perfect and machine-like technique after he got the slightest advantage. But certainly Carlsen is the best nowadays.

(5:48) "Rook to c8": don't understand this move - why doesn't Black play a5 himself (or maybe even Na5) to halt White's A pawn?

Awesome stuff. But to Magnus, Benjamin Bok is not strong competition

Instructive game, not sure the opening had so much to do with the result, though.

Generally, online ratings are higher than OTB. But not automatically. If you want to play OTB you should just jump in and do it. It can only make you a stronger player.@@Woodflooralchemist
