    Hey Jose. Taking someone at their word does not work in a court of law. We do not convict "A" of murdering "B" because "C" says that "A" murdered "B". "C" must provide evidence (beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt) that "A" murdered "B". If "A" states that they did not murder "B", we do not take "A" at his word and allow "A" to go free with presumed innocence. Accepting someone's word based on faith and gut feelings is not a path to determine truth. I hope you are never asked to serve on a jury.

    So humans did come from soup? I can prove God in a variety of ways, while at the same time, you have no rational atheist explanation for reality. So you lose out of the gate. God is easily proved. Romans 1:20 declares that God is proved by his creation, so I'll prove creation. Can you point to anything that can't be counted, measured & had no beginning or end (INFINITE)? No, you can't. EVERYTHING in this FINITE universe can be counted, measured & has a beginning and an eventual end. That means it was created; thus, "natural causes" don't exist. Nature can't be the "cause" of anything, because DYING/FINITE NATURE (time/space/matter/energy) was created/designed from nothing by God. And ALL MATTER doesn’t do nothing but dissipate over time - LOSING INFORMATION. That’s why you never observe any GAIN OF NEW INFORMATION (e.g. big bang, abiogenesis, mistakes (mutations) gaining in complexity/new information, star formation, evolution), because it doesn’t exist, can’t exist & never will exist. TO FURTHER PROVE GOD; if it can be "counted or measured" it's a DYING/FINITE (having a beginning & an eventual END/death) entity that has a cause. Then, we simply ascertain what RATIONAL POSSIBLE cause has LIFE, INTELLIGENCE, LOVE, CONSCIOUSNESS & MORALITY to give and the INTELLIGENCE, POWER, PURPOSE, RESOURCES & MEANS to give it. No atheist cause (e.g. nothing, star dust, moist rocks, mud puddles, primordial soup) fits the bill. This SCIENCE points to God and nothing else. God proved/Atheism debunked. P.S. - More evidence for God is that no atheist on the face of this earth has a RATIONAL/POSSIBLE, step-by-step atheist explanation for reality. @@clown134 STOP w/ your stupidity. Jesus did/does exist. Keep in mind that Jesus was considered a rogue of society. An outcast of not only the church, but the community. "CRUCIFY HIM!" they shouted. I doubt the NYTimes of the time would publish an article about him. There’s just as much evidence of Jesus as there is evidence for anything else of that time. Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically and historians consider the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) to be the best sources for investigating the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Galilean, Jewish rabbi who preached his message orally, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate. “Jesus did exist, whether we like it or not.” - Bart Ehrman, New Testament ATHEIST scholar - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “That he was crucified is as sure as anything historical can ever be, since both Josephus and Tacitus... agree with the Christian accounts on at least that basic fact." - John Dominic, N.T. Scholar "There is no scholar in any college or university in the western world who teaches classics, ancient history, new testament, early Christianity, any related field who doubts that Jesus existed.” - Bart Ehrman, New Testament ATHEIST scholar - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Historian Gary Habermas lists 39 ancient sources for Jesus, from which he enumerates more than 100 reported facts about his life, teachings, crucifiction and resurrection. In fact, the historical evidence for the execution of Jesus is so strong that one of the most famous New Testament scholars in the world - Gerd Ludemann of Germany (atheist), said “Jesus’ death as a consequence of crucifixion is indisputable.” Denying the existence of Jesus doesn’t make it go away; it only proves that no amount of evidence will convince you.

    Am I afraid of Chucky or vampires? Not right now, no. But if you tell me the right story in the right way, I can psych myself out and be scared of something like Chucky or vampires for a while. When I went to see the Blair Witch Project, it was the last showing of the night. The parking structure where my car was had been pretty much emptied out. And I rushed real fast to get to my car. While I knew in my head that it wasn't a real story, I was still in a state of mind to be frightened. When I was a kid, I watched the Exorcist on TV. That means it was the edited version. But I was alone in the house and when my parents came home from their night out (Gen Xers unite!) they sent me to bed. The problem was it was right at the part where they were going up to do the exorcism. So, I never got to see the ending of the movie. I spent all night freaking out about every stray noise and light that went across my window. My brain was trying to figure out how to end the story and was going in nightmarish directions. I had nightmares all night. So yeah, I just might be scared of Chucky and vampires if you do it right and I'm in the right frame of mind. How is a claim of experiencing god or the holy spirit any different?

    @@quecee There's nothing of the atheist cult to run away from, because NONE OF IT can be observed or even proved in REAL TIME. Big bang? No, the big bang never happened UNLESS trillions of stars, planets, moons, the human being and 10 million DIFFERENT animals fit into a dot smaller than a proton. Face the facts: All anybody has ever seen is the expanding universe. The rest is desperate guessing. And to comment on any events before that is irresponsible guessing. It would be a SUPERNATURAL MIRACLE for that "dot" to expand into EVERYTHING. The big bang idea is total insanity. FURTHERMORE, that dot would have 900 trillion degrees of heat - containing the heat of trillions of stars. It would be a SUPERNATURAL EVENT if it happened, as the 1st and 2nd laws would be violated. The big bang farce is the largest irresponsible idea in world history and BY FAR the most asinine. Evolution? No. There's no such thing as new anatomy differing from ancestry EVER! If it's not OBSERVED IN REAL TIME then it's not science and NOTHING of the asinine, lost & clueless cult of atheism (e.g. big bang, abiogenesis, mistakes (mutations) gaining in complexity/new information, new anatomy differing from ancestry/evolution) is OBSERVED IN REAL TIME like TRUE NATURE (e.g. flower bloom, reproduction, photosynthesis, digestion, respiration, top down production, gravity, sunshine) is OBSERVED IN REAL TIME. Try to learn.

    I think the best way to get the message across to him would have been to have him describe the actually feeling WITHOUT letting him say what caused it. For example, “I felt a warmth that started near my heart and then over the next 30 seconds it radiated outwards until it encompasses my entire body and then I felt a sense of euphoria” - and totally accept the fact that he had that experience - and then separately, ask him “and what do you think caused it”. -‘D dispute that. The way the call actually went, I don’t think the caller had the abilities to separate the feeling from the source he ascribed it. It was all one thing, “The Holy Spirit entered my body” 🙄 Forcing him to separate the feeling from the cause may have flowed better into “I experienced that too and thought the same thing, but then years later, I felt it again from sex or drugs or listening to music - and realized I was wrong”

    That’s not faith. You’ve experienced that process countless times over the years, and it never changes. You know it will turn red because that’s what it’s designed to do to control traffic and based on all prior experience, it has followed that pattern. You have no reason to not have reasonable confidence that it will follow the pattern.

    @cassievining340 Isn't that same reason you have faith in your wife not to cheat? Or does faith mean you hope your prayer gets answered and when it might be means your faith is confirmed?

  • @cassievining340

    @cassievining340

    3 күн бұрын

    @@monorail4252 no. We understand the mechanics of how a traffic light works, the reason of why it’s programmed to work that way, and what the different color signals communicate to is in traffic. It’s the same for everyone and, short of a glitch, that’s how it works. We don’t need faith when we have seen it work that way every time throughout our lives, learned the why and what in relation to driving, and use it once we become drivers and can consistently rely upon it. As far as a spouse, I suppose that slips into its own category. It’s not the same kind of faith as believing in a god. Your spouse is very tangible and present and you can interact with them. You can build a life with them, a family, become part of their family and they a part of yours. As far as cheating, the confidence you have in each other depends on the strength of your relationship and bond. And that either strengthens or weakens with time and you might become suspect of their loyalty. Otherwise, if you have no reason to doubt or even think about it, your faith in your spouse might be high based on all experiences. It can be called faith because you can’t possibly know all the truth, but you have a good read on it and believe in your spouse.

    I was waiting for it, and he gave me not just one, but both of the most common cop out, useless, deflecting phrases used by ppl who are not so bright and don't really have much knowledge of what they're arguing about. First was 'not necessarily', then 'it depends'. Once I hear those, I pretty much know the discussion/debate w/ that person is done. That just shows they don't know how to form good arguments and they have little if any actual substantive information/evidence to support their point.
