Last Fall, I picked up this FORD RANGER!
I got a great deal on it because after the test drive, it started to overheat. The owner wasn't sure why it was overheating, and I took a chance on it thinking it might be a bad head gasket.
I later found out the problem was associated with the fact that it had been in a wreck which pushed the fan shroud into the radiator fan preventing it from spinning. With the fan not spinning, the radiator wasn't able to keep cool.
I watched a handful of KZread videos including this one:

where the owner was able to straighten his frame with a hydraulic puller, a chain and a tree.
I already had a tree and some chains, so I acquired a hydraulic ram puller and gave it a whirl. The hydraulic puller didn't do much, so I opted to attempt what I had seen some rednecks pull off. Regardless, I wasn't successful.
I ended up cutting the fan shroud off which allowed the fan to move freely and cool the engine.
