How to Pull Out HUGE Dents Using a TREE

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I pull out the huge dents in my quarter panel using a tree. I never did anything like this before and I'm super happy with how well it worked. The Jeep is now completely usable!

I DID THIS SAME THING WITH THE FRONT END OF MY SUBARU BUDDY. Pulled up to a telephone pole, broke out the ratchet straps and some rope. Threw her in reverse and went to town. Loving your videos.

I just want to thank you for this video. Someone hit me a few weeks ago and my 98 B3000 bumper is discontinued and nowhere to be found used. So I got myself a come along and tow strap and straightened out the bumper so I can drive it. It worked really well. It hit 247000 original miles this week and still purrs like a kitten. I am going to get at least another 100000. 💪😁 I am so proud!

That's how we used to do it before I started working at a body shop. Spot weld dent puller and you can get rest out. You have the right idea with welding I bolt on. Next time on a pinch weld vise grip with a chain loop weld on top.

pull pull pull tappy tappy tap tap. Coaxing the creases out with a hammer, block of wood, dull chisel, a small hunk of metal, your hands, foe's head, use your imatgination...while aplying pulling pressure will help tremendously. Hats off to your roadside "get 'er done" method. Next you'll be frame welding with jumper cables, a car battery and a coat hanger. Even if you plan to cut it out and replace it, it's always a good idea to pull on the damaged bits to get things roughly pointed in the right direction so the new parts fit up that much easier. Thanks.

Exactly what I've been planning on doing and macgyvering in my head and bought everything today, then found your video. I've had 3 body shops give me the run around, oh blah blah, it isn't worth it, we can't fix it without replacing the entire end of the car, blah, blah, blah, just because I'm a short 60 year old female with gray hair. I'm over it! Just waiting for State Farm to send me the official notice they are totaling my car. 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, 225k miles, drives fine, lights work, but the body shop gave me an estimate of $10,145. I bought a come along, a variety of really thick metal plates (like pergola T brackets, support bracing with holes in them to put behind the crush part to help reinforce the metal and spread the pulling action over a wider area. Got a complete dufus at Lowe's telling me a screw is a screw and there is nothing different about them, even when their own damn sign explains the difference right there. He couldn't even get his manager to bother to come over when I need to reattach a bracket that was welded to the back for the metal bumper to attach to. I got some self tapping screws, metal drill bits that will go through stainless or I-beams, other grade 8 bolts with lock nuts, so I have a variety ready to go when I get started. I'm going to use my Ford F350 instead of a tree and hopefully that will be heavy enough on both ends. I should be able to pull the crushed part out enough to get the old scratched up bumper cover back on as I do have all the absorber parts I picked up out of the street that go between that and the metal bumper. That which will cover all that damage anyway, then grab the salvage title, get the CO State Patrol inspection, and get the rebuild title so I'm good to go. I can probably get another 50k - 100k out of my car, zero reason to let them send it to the junk yard. Supposedly I'll get retail value minus auction value and my deductible. I think my total cost to fix it myself as a 60 year old female who also doesn't know what she is going will be < $200.

I incurred same damage on 9/11/21, twentieth anniversary of THEE "9/11" on the Pasadena Fwy in L.A. to my 1982 MBZ 300TD (123 model)...Luckily no damage to drive train/runs fine.. Some say pull it out. Others say cut it away and re-whole quarter panel it.. Well, cutting away a panel at a 'Pick A Part' alone costs $$ and I certainly ain't equipped to do it myself... One gentleman said he could pull it / do whole job for $1,100.00 /12 days. Another wants $1,200.00. I know these are good prices.. Yet I've no way to get around unless I bicycle, Lyft, or rent a car here and there for the stretch (pun intended !).. Maybe my medical covers this type of transportation need...Hmmmmmm... Anyway, nice job Kordare !! I should try that !! Then have body guy complete it a day at a time so I can have it to drive near every day....But I bet that ain't gonna fly with any of them !!

good job figuring out pulling, i would suggest a tree strap about 6 foot long, or called a lifting sling. get one with 2 eyes and a shackle, about 6 foot long, 2 inches wide, can get double thickness, to wrap around trees, it won't slip off and hurt you or car or others, is very secure compared to ratchet strap method, same looking yellow strapping though. I have about 20 i have found on amazon around 5-10 bucks, much safer

I work at a body shop. Your inner structure is bent and needs replacement as well. You could weld tabs at the pull points as well

Saving this for later. I have a 98 4Runner that has its rear pushed forward due to someone texting on their phone (I was the victim. Check my channel for the video) and this seems extremely doable! My rear and rear side quarter panels have nowhere near the damage your Jeep has so this makes me hopeful!

I haven’t seen the full video but I’ll edit if I have to, there’s too much energy in that hit, you’ll need more than a 2.5 ton.

I aint tryna tell you your bidness... but, you could lay heavy moving blankets on your straps and cables. That way, if they were to break, they would fall downaward and not smack the dogsnot out of you.
