no HUD is definitely the way to go, but I do wish there was an option to show a compass, and to show your hearts if they aren't full

Having some options/flexibility would rly let each person suit it to their own preferences
I turned off the HUD when i was quite far into the game and I wish I did it sooner. Was standing on top of a sky island one time, watching the sunset, and when the music hit I just started crying. Definitely enhances the experience, as this game is definitely one to be experienced and connected with. Do wish there were some more options to customise the HUD but doesn't matter too much for me!
Massive caveat: dont turn hud off immediately. There are some very basic parts of ultrahand that i diddnt know about for several hours because the game doesn't bother to tell you them if youre in pro mode. As soon as you get off the great sky island, then it should be fine to turn it off.
I did this with BotW and it really instilled that sense of exploration for me, will be doing the same with this game

Same, I first tried it doing a mapless play through, and it was so awesome I kept with it.
Didn't even realize there was a no-HUD (or, reduced-HUD) option until seeing this video. Looking forward to more TOTK videos!

Well happy to spread some of the knowledge! I didnt know till 80% of the way through my playthrough lol, and thanks! Plan on def sending out some more
I saw a sunset in this game with the pro hud after climbing a relatively big sky island, and I cannot describe the emotion I felt just staring out at that view with the ambient noises its magical man

Yeah my friend is SO against no hud, but i say it's for relaxing and not huge challenges... Rdr2 did it well. It's the only way to play, i like dynamic huds

@@holeindanssock156 dynamic huds done right are the best thing in the whole world, especially with a game that hits with that ambience and world
I’m so glad I went No-Hud! For me it happened when I went to the Faron Region where there’s that giant storm in the clouds, since the map doesn’t work there I just turned off my HUD and occasionally turned it on to see where I was going but basically I was gonna eyeball it without the map Ever since then, I’ve been able to use landmarks in the distance to note where I am and where I’m going It’s honestly very relaxing because I’m less distracted by markers on my map and focused on seeing the beauty the TOTK Devs put into this work of art
Great advice that I’m certainly going to at the very least try. Love your vids. Keep up the excellent work.

This video may inspire thousands to actually give it a go, and the only reason you did it was help people increase their immersion, granted that’s what they want. Good gamer and good guy.

@@jasey5 thanks for the kind words! And yeah if it can help people have a better time, thatd be lit
I'm torn because I love the idea of having a clutter-free playthrough, but I also depend on the mini map quite a lot so I don't waste lots of time. I think I would be going in and out of the menu’s map a lot of the time and thus drag out an already looong game. Maybe you could make another video with some tips for getting around the limitations of pro HUD mode, make suggestions about how to play more or less like a "pro" so there's solutions for the constraints.
Gamer Guy😮
I played all of Tears of the Kingdom with pro mode immediately. It’s SO nice. I do wish you could turn off the button prompts too like paragliding or picking up stuff
Yeah I played no HUD for most of the game in Breath of Wild. More immersive. I switched during the dungeons or Beasts quests.
I didn’t even know that you could turn the hud’s off.😅
That's what I'm talking about! After I played Hero Mode on botw hudless, I just couldn't go back. It's such a huge difference in experience.
Its so fuckin beautiful with no hud, stamina wheel im glad is still visible
Or opacity setting. That is greatly needed (unless it exist, then please someone tell me where I can change that)
I've been playing Fromsoft games, so when I jumped into Tears, I turned the HUD off. It's much more fun that way.
Is there a way to only have the minimap displayed? I want to remove all HUD items except for that
YES, thanks! I think dynamic huds are part of future, god of war, rdr2 made them popular, horizon... Etc.
This is my kind of TOTK topic.

Great to hear!
This is literally the first thing I did
i feel like not being able to see my hearts would end up being a problem in combat
@MadLuigi
Жыл бұрын
I was surprised that it wasn't for me. It does show up when you lose hearts, so then its just remembering. but I can totally see tht still being an issue for players in combat
I did this in botw but honestly i just kept going to the menu to look at the stuff anyway.
@MadLuigi
Жыл бұрын
to look at map or hearts or both? i do hit up the map semi-frequently, but otherwise im mainly just in the menu to eat food, but tht can be often
I think I’ll play with no HUD if a DLC with master mode comes out. I think it would be a fun combination.
Stamina wheel toggle
That dang green circle ruins it
For sure, first thing I did is change it to Pro mode. This is the way
Pro Hud is great for immersion! But I heavily suggest leaving it on Standard while learning all of the Ultra Hand powers. Why? Pro Hud hides all the extra info that would show up below. It is why people are looking up how to beat the *_first shrine!_* Why? Cause all that juicy info on how to rotate, moving forward and back while standing still, and especially how to unstuck... All that info is hidden while Pro Hud is enabled. LMFAO! Edit: Navigating around _The Depths_ with pro hud on is pretty disorienting when you are heading to a specific light root.
THIS VIDEO almost nobody understands this. lack of hud/interface changes everything. it's not just about immersion. it's about changing the entire gameplay experience. imagine living your life wearing AR glasses from birth, with little indicators and hints helping you along. that's what your life has been as a gamer. now imagine having grown up and taking those goggles off for the first time. i'm utterly certain nintendo designed breath and tears with pro mode in mind. they believe it's the best way to play the game. and they're right.
If you dont play pro mode then your not cool
No thanks.
