JAMES DO YOU WAIT FOR YOUR 3RD FLUSH BEFORE PULLING YOUR PEAS OUT

James, please, I'm right across the Tacony Palmyra from you. This smoke? What should we do? Protection wise I mean, this can't be healthy for the food we hope to eat either? 2nd year Gardner, but this seems pretty unprecedented here. Any advice from anyone in all this?
@smas3256
Жыл бұрын
@@LynnMTHA I'm near capital of Ct and I see some smoke and sure can smell it. I don't see any ash on my veggies. In New Haven, local weather on news shows thick smoke from sky to the ground it seems but I'm on ground level. Those pics were from drone or copter higher up. Looked at the way the air is moving on the map. Curious how it seems to avoid the capital. Only one thing comes to mind. Manipulation. If I find ash I'll use a vacuum to blow it off with shop vac or my hand held. Worth a try. Air quality is bad for those with lung issues so stay inside. If it is just timer burning that's one thing. Any chemicals in the smoke, I don't know.
Never known a dog to be so fond of vegetables. Such a paradise for Tuck. 🥒

I too had so many cucumbers last year. I made Cucumber water. Blend peeled cuks with a little water, lime juice, sugar or choice of sweetener, or no sweetener. Strain or not. Also add watermelon. Cucumber and water melon water. Everyone loved it! Can put a sprig of mint in glass.
James, I love watching your videos and wish I could see your garden in person! I bet you have the best garden in the Garden State! I’m a Jersey girl living in Indiana and gardening in part of my heart and soul. Can’t imagine what I would do if I didn’t have some earth to dig, plant, and grow flowers and vegetables. I appreciate the wealth of information that you share.
I love watching Tuck nosh on the veggies. I can’t believe he loves radishes too! 🥒 🐕 🤎
Great information! Thanks so much. Also, I have never seen a dog eat radishes! Way to go Tuck! ❤️😘💘💓💜

I'm so glad I watched your videos about cucumbers before planting them for the first time. I wouldn't have known to start the seeds later than others or to not let them ripen on the vine without your help.
Hope you and Tuck are staying safe from the wildfire smoke, I know it's bad in Jersey right now!
James, you have a lot knowledge. I think you should write a book. I’d buy it!

I sell bedding plants at a northern Minnesota Farmer’s Market. So many people want cucumber & melon plants way early in the season. I tell them the plants won’t be happy if you put them out too early. But they go buy them from someone else then wonder why they don’t do well. Thank you for your advice & agreement.
Love that you said keep a garden journal. I’m doing this year to see what is working
Because of you and tuck my garden is thriving this year!! Thank you so much for providing all this knowledge to us! ♥️
I’ve been watching your videos for a while but this is the first time I’ve seen this one. Your passion for gardening was really showing (as per usual). Thank you for your advice and your love for gardening.
James, you and Tuck are my favorite gardening gurus, thank you. Living in FL, so no cold feet here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Zinnias and dahlias are the best trap crops for cucumber beetles, in my experience. The flowers are like a billboard for pollinators too. It's easy to knock beetles off the blossoms into a container of slightly soapy water to drown them. Use just enough soap or detergent to break the surface tension of the water.
