    Something the media also ignore that Jordan briefly touched on at the end is; The fact that Australia is one of the few countries in the world that can realistically take advantage of renewables to completely decarbonise hydrogen and ammonia production. Many northern nations have larger populations, inhabiting far less landmass and have less optimal geographic locations for Solar. These nations need high power production contained within a smaller area than renewables would ever be able to achieve alone. Hydrogen Gas combustion power plants, in lieu of Natural Gas fuelled ones, would be an ideal solution in tandem with renewables where ever they can be deployed. None the less, the point is it will be of great economic value for Australia and create far more jobs for Australians. Yes, it will help other nations reduce thier emissions. But it will also help our economy a lot in the process, which is a better selling point for Liberal leaning people.

    Normally as soon as I hear someone mention hydrogen I just sigh. But, there are 2 uses of hydrogen I can get behind and that's making fertilizer and steel. The problem is, these industries need to stop using hydrogen from CH4 and switch to an electrified source. Which I'm glad someone is finally doing.

  • @rarewhiteape

    @rarewhiteape

    Жыл бұрын

    Solar-to-hydrogen is an idea that has been in the wings for a while now. Both the WA and Qld governments are investing in it. We can build solar arrays close to the ocean in the north where the sun is plentiful, pull in some sea water, and have them power the extraction process. The by-products are oxygen and salt. Oxygen is useful for many reasons and molten salt can be used as an energy storage medium. The hydrogen can be loaded onto ships and sent to China where they use gas turbines to generate electricity. With only minor modification, these turbines can be converted to hydrogen fuelling, and their emissions will switch from CO2 to H2O. Australia is leading the way in developing this industry and it is thanks to Labor governments that we will be able to generate significant income for our future.

    @@Hill_Walker unless it comes from Nuclear its still going to lead to massive pollution. I'm still yet to see a viable, environmentally conscious route of resource extraction, manufacture, transport, installation, servicing, maintenance and final deconstruction and decommission for wind turbines or solar power, never mind operational and energy storage constraints. Green at the point of use isn't green. I genuinely think that she'll and BP are shilling so hard for wind right now because they realise if a base load of nuclear power was present then there would be minimal need for any oil and gas

However, as part your keeping the stooges in check you told us that you'd be calling the Labor party out on the questionable things they do. Recently, God Emporer McGowan recently signed off on two new oil drilling sites off the coast of WA. I understand WA is the land of mining and provides big income to the country, but this goes against one of the big things the Labor party has strived for. Cattle emissions of methane can be reduced significantly by adding kelp or seaweed, I forget which one it is, as a portion of their feed. However the main focus of methane emissions reductions is more targeted towards extraction and industrial processes. Most of these processes can be done, or replaced by production, without carbon and methane emissions. Governments have long used both taxation & incentives to set key market indicators and provide investment confidences.This is no different.

The specific example here of when a bad government puts the regular check on your annual pay cheque earnings at tax time. Then, against your will, contributes the tax percentage of what you earned, toward some crook governmenttal shonky purposes, rather than toward benefiting the Australian community equally as a whole. You'd rather keep all your pay cheque earnings unchecked instead. The age old complaint and excuse of the tax dodgers ( paraphrased)....." This bloody government owes me my full pay because the shonk they spend it on to further enrich themselves and their filthy rich mates doesn't benefit me OR Australia and I'd rather donate it to charity."

    one solution would be to make the product producers responsible for the packaging they sell to us . we buy the product not the package . it belongs to them they need to have bins at places where we can return the packaging we are given . and the companies can dispose of it responsible . idk something like that what solutions do you have for the problem ?

    The IR bill hasn't been passed yet, still needs to go through the senate. Burke has had to make 150 concessions so far and is still watering it down to get Pocock's support. Even in its new form it will still be a huge progressive reform undoing the damage Hawke and Keating did.

    OK I'm at 8:40, and I've been talking about those loan sharks to people for some time. Do you know how hard it is to find the interest rate on their websites? It's extremely difficult. They have these fun advertisements, and write about no hidden costs on their web sites, but when you dig down enough it's close to 50% interest. Praying on desperate. It's despicable what those people do.

    That's a whole heap of positives - and I'm really pleased to hear that payday loan sharks are going to be regulated. However, I think the Labor government can cop some legitimate criticism for going ahead with massive tax cuts for the rich, for not planning on shutting the Job Network down, and for leaving social security benefits at around 60% of the poverty line. The "mutual obligations" aka "how much can we dick you around for having the misfortune to be out of work" and the ridiculously low rate of JobSeeker Payment combine to keep people out of work, rather than help them back into work. Both need to go. And, yes, I really appreciate the way Albo and the team got straight to work the moment they won the election, the incompetence and indolence of the previous LNP government left them with a massive amount of work to get Australia back on track.

    @@bartandaelus359 tell that to extinct species of flora and fauna with no proper DNA sequences on record or incomplete. Not to mention the reproductive portions like seeds, eggs, sperms. Sadly in the real world, things can no longer exist. Ecosystems need a whole host of different species, if many of them are blinked out of existence, there is sadly no way to restore them to what they once were.
