Hey guys stop with the bashing. He is pretty well connected guy, I mean deputy fucking editor! He basically runs that place! Pedestrian TV, its one of Australia's most trusted, prestigious, hard hitting news orgs that we have. I know its one of the top news organisations that set the tone for the talking points of Australia's media zeitgeist. Its known for rdirecting the conversation for tens of news media organisations around the country and the globe keeping us well informed. From farm hands to factory owners, from the big end of town to to McDonald town, I often here people from of all walks of life discussing the current talking points first raised by Pedestrian TV. Although the opinion and debate amongst the general public can be, at times, polarirising & devisiveabily palpable, the one thing that I hear time and time again and the vast majority of people agree on is the respect and admiration they have for their fine organisation. It can sometimes be such a hinderance to a good ol fashioned head on heated debate that some even deny that they have even heard of Pedestrian TV and the great work they do! Ha! Although its often met with gasps and looks of disbelief, in truth, it's seldom believed. So I implore you to search your feelings, to the first time you to were moved by the tireless efforts of these skilled craftsmen, plying their humble trade - ever vigilant, unflinching brutally honest reporting and try cut them some slack. Remember, no one is prefect, and I am sure they soon will return to their well worn troupe of clear and unbiased news journalism and to a brighter, more informed prosperous future only made so bright by their presence Did I mention he is fuckin like 2nd in charge?!?!?

Way back before the internet was really a thing (back when it was only somewhere you'd find unpaid extras in WarGames) I wrote a computer based training program (neeeeerd!) for a radio station. It covered defamation. The bottom line *was* relatively simple: if it was both true and in the public interest, it could be said. But what people never seem to get - which I was lucky enough to finally understand myself when I subsequently acted as a research assistant for two law theses (NEEERRD!) - is that all law is like this: it lies in interpretation and contest. What's gone wrong is precedent. We've seen a cavalcade of b£#sh+ develop in defamation suits over the past 30 years because people have forgotten what the public interest actually means (and corporations are 'Americanising' the system towards defamation being the Australian 'SLAPP'). Thank heavens some people - like FJ crew - don't need pubic interest spelt out to them. Corruption in government is pubic interest. Misuse of tax payer funds is public interest. Misconduct of publicity elected officials is pubic interest. What the editor of pedestrian has confessed to in writing on Twitter is a form of derangement. It's the necessary derangement of defending oneself when one fails to act in the pubic interest as a journalist.
The best part is seeing this on patron first Like, Jim has no idea right now. God I can see the meltdown

One time I decided to go to my college’s cafeteria. For some reason I chose to get one of their terrible burgers. Idk why. I ordered my cheeseburger and waited for it to come. There was only one other kid there and I decided to make small talk. I ask my usual convo starter “what course are you taking”, he said journalism. Afterwards I he asked what I ordered. I told him it was a cheeseburger and asked him the same. He said a cheeseburger too. Later as I left with my burger, I saw him go up and get a shawarma. Journalists seen to be more than happy to cover their personal crusades around minor issues or backlash to what someone has said this week but they are doing very little to try and showcase people actually struggling for their rights.
