Yes!! i was shall we say "disappointed" with Ghost in The Shell 2017 and this looks like it could deliver a story that ScarJo and company failed to do.

Seen it 6 times, season 1 it’s literally the best tv show I’ve ever seen (and I watch a lot of tv) like season 2 wasn’t nearly as good and I think a lot of that was due to the different sleeve for some reason Joel kinnaman was perfectly cast, Anthony Mackie was good but it didn’t feel like takeshi

I'm loving Altered Carbon. And End of the F***ing World is the perfect dark comedy that can be watched within 3.5 hours. But I HIGHLY recommend DARK if you're a fan of SCIENCE-fiction & time travel. It is in German (use subtitles), but it has a phenomenal concept that is dealt with better than any TV show or movie in a while. The acting and writing are top notch!

No kidding!!!.... I finished it last night and I'm still stunned by how good it is! Wasn't that ending scene with the "story" narration so touching!!?? This show is phenomenal!!!

Whoever tries to pull the blade runner card are stupid, this show is amazing hoping for more seasons!

I LOVED ALTERED CARBON!!!! It was like a video game coming to life. My only issue is that for all it's badassness it sort of turned into a sappy Lifetime love story at the end.

Despite the months of build up for this. I still thought it was a movie right up to the moment I saw this review. I think off the back of watching Bright I was stuck in the "Netflix does movies now?!" mentality.

I have a question to put to everyone. I binged this show in one sitting. I thought it was freaking phenomenal. I tried sharing it with a friend who only had time to watch it one episode at a time and she was less impressed, mostly because she found it confusing. I told her that nothing was a throw away and that everything comes together so beautifully at the end it’s amazing just as a murder mystery noir piece. Not to mention the aesthetic and sets which I loved as well. I literally started this show because I really like Anthony Mackey but Kinneman blew him out of the water. I enjoyed season 2 but the first season was so much better. Anyway my question. Those of you who loved it, did you binge watch it or did you space out the episodes and watch one a day or every couple of days? I’ll admit the stopping points in between the episodes seem rather arbitrary as it flows more like a ten hour movie than an episodic show with a beginning middle and end to the episodes with a larger plot line threaded through out the series. I’m looking for someone who paced themselves watching it to tell me if they liked it as much as I did, or liked it as much as they think they would have had they binged the entire series in one or two sittings. Thanks guys!

William Gibson's world, so faithfully visualized--even the Bay Bridge turned into a shantytown. Wish these designers would do Neuromancer, by the book. Fantastic show!

Just finished the first season: it was totally worth it Will there be another season? I don't think another one's necessary, its superb how it is. I didn't know that it is based on a novel, now I wonder if there is more than one: I'd love to read it!

1 episode left to watch for this season, and been loving it. My only critiques r that same of the character writing is a bit stilted and the overall themes r mostly derivative, but where it stands really strong is in it's world-building and plot beats. If it were written and acted with the same skill as Battlestar Galactica and Blade Runner, this would b a near perfect series.

I was going to about this series... But, based on your review, I'll give it a try.

I was very excited about Altered Carbon since the first trailer dropped. I'm glad it's actually good!

After being so blown away by the visuals and aesthetic of blader runner 2049, and the much anticipation for the upcoming cyberpunk game "The Last Night" I've been looking for something awesome that held the theme so I can geek out over it, Altered Carbon definitely fulfilled my fantasy needs, it's pretty much everything you want in a cyberpunk movie, its all there. Now that the sub-genre is starting to become a popular trend I hope it leads to a live action Batman Beyond movie.

I just finished episode 6 and I am loving it. It's not perfect but I still love the main character and many parts of the story are deep, cool, and very sci-fi.

This show is fucking awesome I blew by it and seen one episode didn’t catch me couple months back but I rewatched it and gave it my full attention wow what have I been missing out on 100% binge worthy do not regret it

I absolutely love AC. Really hope that they make a second season. Great scifi, great cyberpunk.

This team needs to make a Mass Effect series.

The show had potential at the start but it ended up being generic and predictable. Its what i feared blade runner 2049 would be. Thank goodness 2049 wasnt like altered carbon.

omg remember seeing this appear on netflix but had no idea it was a cyberpunk. Watching this shit right away!

Great show loved it as much as the books, different but like most of the changes.

70% budget on set design and 30% on writers and talent. I wish it would’ve been 50/50 so the acting, casting and dialogue could do the directing, cinematography and sets the justice they deserved.

Wow wow it was awesome Loved every minute of it can't wait for season 2

For me it's one of the best cyberpunk creations of all time. At least until mainstream writing snuck in in season 2.

This show is SOOO good, i was totally not prepared for it awesomeness!

TBH, it's better to binge this one, as it can be easy to lose track of what is going on. it's totally worth it if you pay attention though. (e.g. Westworld, The Expanse, Mr Robot).

I started watching it without expecting too much. But after the 2nd or 3rd episode I was totally enthusiastic about the show. The story is great, it started of a little bit confusing (the envoy stuff) and that threw me off a little, I personally don't like when things don't make sense, but everytning is resolved and explained and the massive backgroundstory makes it even more exciting. Plus the characters are very likable. One of my favourite Netflix shows, I am sad disappointed that there won't be a 2nd season.

I’ve finished the season I still only have a vague clue about what an envoy is

the only problem i hav with this shows is that it doesnt feel futuristic enough if that makes sense. Kovac was down for 250 yrs but we we already in the future when he died so we are looking at at least 300 to 500 yrs in the future i dont feel the tech represented that. even from Kovac's death to now it seems no technology has advanced

Altered Carbon is the best new show out there. I hope it's renewed for another season!

i loved the series but i thought that the casting could have been a bit better, Ortega made it so hard to continue watching in the couple first episodes, her character seemed so out of place and she didn't know how to handle it in a way that is convincing for me, the same goes for Miriam Bancroft. on the other hand Poe the Raven hotel was portrayed so nicely, and Kovacs was amazing, as the series in whole the visual effects, directing, story were amazing even though it took them a solid 4/5 episodes to dive deep into the characters motives

The show is great, only a little bit dissapointed at the ending, as I saw it coming a few episodes before it happened. Just a little bit too obvious, other than that, superb

It wasn't great but it definitely won't leave you feeling like you wasted your time either... It flows well and it's definitely fast paste... Really good cast... Again a few problems, but still worth a watch i don't see anyone hating this show.

i hated the second half like after episode 4 or 5. the sister's acting was such garbage and the plot was so predictable and cheesy. it was awful

Behdad Tasdighi Yeah I agree, it started to look like a 90s sci fi channel or WB show. It definitely dragged on too long like most Netflix shows do.

I'm on the third episode and while it looks cool so far it's pretty boring and I don't think the storytelling is particularly amazing can someone tell me if it's going to get good or if I should stop wasting my time

As long as the (closest thing to the) main antagonist is that Asian-Australian megalomaniac, I'll watch it.

I really like the show but it's not like the graphic novel which I kind of like the book a little bit more

I struggled at first to get my head in the game. Then the story just clicked. Good series and well worth the watch. Are you thinking about watching, my recommendation, for what it is worth, Hell yeah.

Definitely one of the best shows I've seen in years.

Methuselah. As in the oldest recorded living being in the Bible, older than his forefather, Adam, had been by death by a few decades. You know, before the atmosphere weakened. I can see the poetry of the name usage here.

That bloke who plays Poe is really good. And gets better.

Love the atmosphere in this show. The acting and writing could've been better but I'm not complaining. I just wish there was more dystopian cyberpunk content out there.

Ofcors you mast see Altered Carbon it is one of the best in the atmosphere, script, and acting Departments.

I thought the show fell off towards the end. But still good overall.

The show is amazing. I haven't seen something this good since Westworld.

just finished watching the season 1. Really great visuals and setpieces but it is downed by poor execution at many times. inconsistent flow of scenes and too many concepts thrown too quickly. It could have been gripping, exciting story but ends up being ok. I still think DARK sets the benchmark for NEtflix Sci-Fi

Understandably so, since those both essentially take place in cyberpunk settings

The thing that sucks about this show is that you don't really hear people talk about it and it wasn't insanely popular so there's a good chance it'll get shut down just for a lack of people knowing about it, like what happened to BMS. *cries in rememberence* Plus the fact that it had a huge budget will make it harder to do more seasons and Netflix has cancelled shows with half the budget altered carbon had and more viewers. So hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see it going past a second season which sucks because I loved this show

This show is like an awesomely weird and cool mash of both Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell.

I watched the entire season. 10/10. Watch this show right now.

This seems too expensive to sustain additional seasons, unless it becomes a HUGE hit.

Now i need to watch it!

such great scripted TV now. haven't been to a movie theater in awhile. well I did enjoy atomic blonde.

Loved the books and liking the show (2 more to watch). Far from perfect but its keeping me entertained even with its changes and flaws. Is it sad that one of my favorite things was the stupid backpack though =D This isn't spolier free so be warned if you haven't started watching yet.

One of the best sci-fi shows ever

I really didn't like the character and arc of Lizzie (the black guys daughter who was stuck in virtual limbo) One question to anyone here: *SPOILER* -At the end, how was Lizzie able to shape shift actual human flesh and also gain super strength all of a sudden? It doesn't make any sense, and they never attempt to explain it. ?

Many of the environments they use are literally maps from Unreal Tournament 2 -why does nobody talk about this?! Is it a matter of expedience in designing the show? or is it an Easter Egg for those unfortunate enough to have played the game enough to recognize the maps?!

Some of the over acting took me out of it. And I didn’t understand some of the character motives. Looks amazing though. If you like seeing naked people every 10min you’ll like this.

The show is really great. It just takes a couple of episodes to get into. Mostly because none of the main character is very likeable. just stick with it. Episode 7 and 8 is AMAZING.
