"You'll not only lose your mind, but you'll lose your soul" | Christopher Lee on the occult

Sir Christopher Lee at University College Dublin, discusses rumours of his extensive occult library and black magic.
www.ucd.ie/news/2011/11NOV11/0...
Legendary British horror actor, Sir Christopher Lee who portrayed the blood-sucking vampire Dracula in the 1958 Hammer Horror Film was awarded Honorary Life Membership by the UCD Law Society.
"We are honoured to present Sir Christopher Lee with Honorary Life Membership of the UCD Law Society. His corpus of work is truly legendary," says Francis McNamara, Auditor of the UCD Law Society.
"His dedication to his craft for more than half a century should serve as an inspiration to each and every one of us."
"His portrayal of the blood-sucking vampire Dracula in the 1958 Hammer Horror production terrified audiences throughout the world, and as a result Christopher Lee, who stands at 6 foot 5 inches tall, became one of the most recognisable faces and figures of cinema."
Previous recipients of Honorary Life Membership of the UCD Law Society include: Jessie Jackson, Bill Clinton, Jeremy Irons, and Seamus Heaney.
But it was not until the early 2000s that his career reached even higher heights from his appearances in two blockbuster film franchises: as Saruman the White in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003), and as Count Dooku in Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones (2002).
Born in 1922 in London, England, Christopher Lee is of noble Italian ancestry on his mother's side (Carandini). His mother, Contessa Estelle Marie Carandini di Sarzano, was a noted Edwardian beauty and was painted by John Lavery, Oswald Birley and Olive Snell and sculpted by Clare Sheridan, a cousin of Winston Churchill.
The Carandini family is one of the oldest in Europe and traces itself back to the first century AD. It is believed to have been connected with the Emperor Charlemagne, and as such was granted the right to bear the coat of arms of the Holy Roman Empire by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa.
In 2009, Lee (89) was knighted by Prince Charles in recognition of his lifetime contribution to the film and television industries. And this year (2011), he received a BAFTA Fellowship.

@@gardensofthegods I did "satanism" or what i read about being satanist in my edgy teen period. I was a very empathetic person before but i had alot of hate for people who have wronged me in my life, that was the perfect outlet for me to express my hate. Lee talks about "soul" and maybe he is right. But i dont believe in a soul, i see it from a psychological PoV. If your whole focus lies on the people you hate rather than loving the people close to you, and you do that for months, then yeah. Thats gonna damage you one way or another. I lost alot of empathy i had, feelings are hard to grasp for me. My grandpa died in january, i was with him in his last seconds and that man did so much for me, for the whole familly. We could always rely on him. I wanted to thank him, show him how much he was loved and how we appreciate his kindness but i couldnt because i didnt know how to express it. You'll not be a mindless soulles robot if you step into those things, but you certainly loose basic human skills that are important aswell. And im 25 now, after all those years this unhealthy behaviour i used to do, only for a view weeks, is still damaging my abillity to express empathy. Im getting help from a professional right now to build back those skills, so i'll be fine. But thats just my story, didnt really went "insane" but i did change.

@@liandre9035 I am fairly empathic as well, and sensitive, and traumatized. I have found that overwhelm regularly shuts me down, from my own feelings, and empathy for others. I see it as a normal, and healthy, response by now. Like a switch that turns off the electricity in a building to prevent overload. I'm sharing this because I've suffered a lot in that state of disconnect, not knowing what to do about it. When I realized that it was overwhelm I dealt with, and that my systems response to it was perfectly alright as a protective measure, some of my frustration and fear dissipated. I still get into those states, but when I can remember to remind myself that I am overwhelmed, that the shutting down is normal, and that the only thing I need to focus on is limiting the cause of overwhelm (inside and/or outside) to calm myself down, and reconnect again things made much more sense, and became much easier to deal with. I don't know if any of this will apply to your situation, but I do know that me trying to "fix" what I thought was wrong with me only made things worse. Accepting, and staying present with, the overwhelm is the only thing that puts me back into alignment with myself, as fighting it only leads it to exasperate.

I have dabbled in Spiritualism for a few decades myself. After several decades I know almost nothing about how it really works. I am yet to find a series of words which does any more than give a slight speed boost and I question if that is even real. I have met several people who claimed to cast spells on themselves. They can describe what happened and list the spell all they want. When other people attempt to do the same thing they described it does not work. Their only response is either you do not believe enough, you do not have the gift or are accused of being a non-believer. Almost every act of Spiritualism I have performed was completely passive. I have no clue how it work with a few minor exceptions where I did figure out a few minor details.

If you do it out of the demons' sources, it is only a matter of time before you are theirs in mind and soul.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the stuff could be very dangerous and not meant for all to know or understand. If you think finding out the truth about Santa or the easter bunny or tooth fairy is ending your innocence, that is nothing compared to other knowledge out there. But the warning is true. Something learned cannot be unlearned and damnable. Knowledge sometimes comes at a steep price that will not produce satisfaction. Yet....some of us remain curious.

Yes Christopher Lee said these words in one of his interviews and also in the Special DVD release of LOTR. His saying he knows how a man sounds when he's stabbed in the back is a subtle reference to the time during World War II when he was carrying out covert missions as a British Military Agent during the early days of the SAS. When one interviewer asked him if he was a British Spy, Sir Christopher asked the interviewer, "Can you keep a secret? The interviewer replied "Yes". Sir Christopher retorted "So can I". 😊

Should any of my readers incline to a serious study of the subject and thus come into contact with a man or woman of Power, I feel that it is only right to urge them, most strongly, to refrain from being drawn into the practice of the Secret Art in any way. Not really, theres just as much dogma in his words as there is in any average worldly religion. The word "occult" just means "Covered Over" or "Secret". theres nothing dark or scary about it really. thats the dogma i mentioned. Lastly, the "you'll lose your soul" is again, typical religious babble. The soul is the source of life within man. When the body dies and the soul returns to God, You (the spirit) are an individual part of that collective soul. The whole is soul, your unique part is a spirit. This is literally what every holy text in the world says. This guy is just having fun id say. Losing your mind is the better part of creativity. breaking the mold you could say.

Jesus said I Am The only way to heaven there is no other way! Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18‭-‬21‭, ‬23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? The history of the occult is fascinating. I think it's dangerous because people want to believe in "it" and that "it" is essentially the surrender to mythos beyond the edge of the rational mind, which if you want to experiment with it imo better find a good person and fall in love with them. Otherwise, power-hungry individuals always lurk around the occult. Not everyone is like this, but it's a problematic space attracting plenty of obsessive manipulators. Again, NOT everyone is this way. I have met some pretty interesting people. Admittedly, some with very kind souls, but the space of the occult is very very problematic.

I would like to say that Sir Christopher Lee is spot on here. He has knowledge of the occult but only insofar as to be aware of it and examine it but not to study it in the manner of someone who actively seeks it. He's completely correct about those who do get involved in it. You lose your mind and your soul. Good advice to be remembered and observed.

david jones Knowledge of something does not mean you practice it per se. But I see why you say that. In this context I meant knowledge in the sense that he was able to identify the occult as occult, and then reject it. In other words, he was able to see it for what it was and then remove himself from it.
