I've found recently people are very sensitive about being caught in a photograph. I was photographing an event (with my SL1) across the road and a family was crossing in front of my line of sight. When he saw I had a camera he lost it and insisted on looking at all the images to make sure I had not photographed his children or his wife. So, I am now very hesitant to take random street shots due to this happening a couple of times in the last couple of months. I have had issues with street people and transients threatening me over possibly being in photographs. So, I now only take shots at arranged events where people are expecting to be photographed and where there are signs posted indicating they can be expected to be photographed by attendees at events. I have also had security at events ask to examine the images on my camera to ensure I am not taking images of people, children or products being featured at the events. Some of them have "Accidentally" removed multiple unrelated images. So, street photography is now becoming increasingly difficult.

Do you mind me asking which country or city this is in specifically? I can only speak for the UK and parts of Europe where I practice photography

In germany it is also illegal to post pictures that include faces in a group less than 15 people, without consent

In the US if you're in public you have basically signed a waiver voiding your privacy. I would just told the guy to F* off. It is legal here to photograph anything or anyone on public roads and buildings.
Great tip on keeping your eye oit for complimentary colours. Love that!

9:02 jumped out at me from this selection Lately I've been enjoying the L.Monochrome and dynamic monochrome (p. 82 in the DMC-G85 Advanced Manual) a lot, pretty much SOOC with the PL 15 1.7 or Oly 45 1.8.
Lots of samples. Great!

Which lens would you say is more useful for street photography? Panasonic 20mm 1.7 or Olympus 17mm 1.8? I use Pana 20mm, but sometimes it might be a bit narrow. Also, a few times I got banding on my M10 ii.

The Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7 is a beautiful lens. 30mm FF equiv FOV, and it has beautiful 3D rendering that Leica lenses are known for. Fantastic colour, tonality, and micro contrast. I was sold on it by this review from fellow youtuber @robinwong robinwong.blogspot.com/2017/02/a-brief-encounter-with-panasonic-leica.html

17 indeed, pana 20 a bit sluggish and yes in dark area and high iso it appears sensor banding..

Would be nice if you could include camera, lens, other info from the pictures when you display them. Maybe if its film list stock and lens, etc.

I have always disliked photos of strangers. I dislike taking photos of people I don’t know! A few of the great street photographers have done it well using people artfully in their shots. Tourists walking and milling about are completely uninteresting to me and I avoid them. So I certainly don’t photos of them.
