More than a set of tips, here we have an entire philosophy of seeing.
This is by far the best and most compact video on one of the most important topics in photography. You learn more in less than 15 minutes than in workshops lasting days.

Honestly horizontal vs vertical explanation was such a great tip. Never thought of it that way. Great tips
As a learner, I have watched countless photography lesson VDO. This one gotta be my top 3 most favorite. By the way, your photos are amazing. Subscribed immediately. I hope you could also make a vdo about how you color your portraits pictures. They are so amazing.

I will watch this video over and over again. Thank you die sharing more than just facts.
Great photography.cheers. Although I understand the rule basic rule of thirds. I found I went through a coupe of stages first before I got the message about taking photos. One I thought my first photos where great, but that’s my ego thanking that, then I saw the truth. Next was taking photos similar to the photos I had seen and like. Now I was told that I should just look at other peoples pictures and after I had seen 5oo,000 then I would develop an eye for what I liked personally. Both I think helped me develop my eye. However I found that even with a great camera and lenses the photo quality was good the composition not so. I studied my photos and realised two things. Firstly point and shoot did not work, I would have to bend my back to get the right eye leave. Second is go back over and over again to get use to the equipment and changes in light. Trying different angles shooting through tree ex . Then I found my self looking at my photos and seeing the picture I should have taken. The positive thing was I had learned the setting and about both camera and lenses. So now I get more hits than missed shoots. Last thing was I was honest from day one if I could not take a picture of a local bird then going to a distant country would not change my failure. I went to local museums and to the local lodges . Now I am seeing my photos engage other people interest. It takes time self awareness honestly and determination. The gear helps but if you can’t use it then it kinda puts you off in the long run. If you want to take great photos then you will. But it will take time .
Great video with clear examples. Thank you!

Very clearly explained. Thank you!
Thank you. It conveys very well about ways to -think- about composition rather than just listing rules/tools of composition.

thank you for sharing your journey
This was epic for me, thanks 😊
Just subscribed..this type of teaching is what I was searching for❤
I just found your channel today and immediately subscribed. I really like how you talk and explain everything, very easy to understand, and the examples are great. I would love to see how you edit. Most of my shooting subjects (fire scenes, football, air shows, etc...) require a sharp, contrasty, and moody edit, but when I do portraits with my wife, I feel lost as I can't shake that type of editing. I'd love to learn how to get the look that you have in your sample shots. Keep posting these great videos!

If you feel that you are not getting the right mood for a photo, start with composition and lighting, if it’s a portrait, posing and expression are important too. Once these are done, editing part will be easier. I’ll make a video about editing.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Too good thankyou
Nicely done.
Genius!
Thank you!
Kyle thanks for sharing so many greats points on how to improve our photography !!! One thing I learned from an excellent teaching photographer many years ago. Is some times taking a photo and flipping it the other direction. There are times we want to take a photo but the leading lines are going to wrong way. This same photographer won one of the highest environment portrait awards in Canada a number of years ago by doing this Love your photo with the woman and the lighthouse. But if you flipped it the other direction. You have the rocks leading to the woman and the woman to the lighthouse. There is more emphasis on her and less on the lighthouse. Both ways the photo looks amazing so you cannot go wrong. Just wanted your thoughts on this Again thanks for sharing!!!

flipping the image is a technique that have been used since Renaissance. It's easy to find drawing errors once you flip an image (back then people use mirror). But I think this technique makes more sense on painting than photography. This is especially the case for subjects whose faces are not 100% symmetrical. Flipping the photo will change their face.
I have the bad habit of watching videos that already have 1000s of views. I am glad that I did not skip this one because among the 100s of videos that I have watched since launching in photography as a hobby, this one here is one of the most complete, yet simple one on composition. You are my first comment on the 100s of video that I have watched so far. I hope your channel will grow exponentially.

@@KyleCongphoto very nice work. It just seems like your more ambitious work involves beautiful models. I’m not saying that a beautiful lady is all you need for a great image, though…not in the least. Your work is very visually competent.
