I'd like to see more budget packs but less military looking. I feel like you would draw unwanted attention if it were an emergency situation with a bunch of tactical looking gear. Grey man aesthetic.

Go whimsical... Hello Kitty, Sponge Bob, Unicorns & Rainbows, etc. A kid themed backpack fairly screams: "Mess with me & I'll sic my kids on you"... 🤬 Edit: Seriously, no kind of 'camo' will keep other people from recognizing that you have tried to equip yourself for whatever contingency that may pop up in your travels... The most expensive prepper backpack or a burlap sack tied to a branch like a hobo rig will probably be equally conspicuous.

I like it. Lots of good storage and compartments. Like the black Multicam as well. My only complaint is that some of these companies put too much hook and loop on the outside of the pack. I don’t mind a little, but that back panel has a bit too much. Although…you were clearly able to show you are a Yukon Cornelius fan. So there is that…😎

G'day Aaron, nice bit of hammer throwing and place kicking there mate ; ) Love those "semi-internal" water bottle pockets and the other oranistation too. I do try to keep it down to the 32-35 Liter, range, (with it's associated max weight), however obviously a bit more capacity = a bit more capability one can carry. Since I do go quite tool heavy, would be nice to see a mid ranged price model with load lifters; ......... another vid for another time maybe, if indeed there is such a thing ? Anyway, LAPG branded kit does hit the sweet spot for value IMO. I'm sure I've mentioned before their Atlas trousers and shorts for example, are winners, (even stood up to puppy dog chewing, without noticeable damage), ...... cant say the same for other clothing, curtains, furniture and not to mention supposed, specifically designed toys, lol. getta branch over here in oz LAPG. Cheers Duke

    1. excellent review. 2. Over the years, I picked up a number of packs . . . book bag, assault packs, 3 day packs, packs without frames. So, I describe my situation as I have acquired packs over a period of 50 years and what you have to consider. 1. I am urban. You may think that you are not urban, but you probably are. 2. You have to decide whether you want to stand out from the crowd of anonymous people by carrying a pack that screams military to the average person. 3. I drive a car and have gear in it that would allow me to go to ground in place and even not return home, ever. However, I do not know where I will be, whether it makes any difference if I look military or not. I know that if you give me 15 minutes to load a pack from the contents of the car that I know at that moment I will need, I can do so. I keep a 3 day Tactical Tailor empty in the trunk with the gear. 4. Unless you are in top physical shape and hiking the Sierra trail from Mexico to the Canadian border, you don't need a huge pack. At age 31, we had no choice and to leave Afghanistan, my late wife and I had to walk the Kyber Pass. My gear weighed 19 pounds. Hers weighed 21 pounds because she insisted on carrying a hair dryer. 5. One of my mentors, an old airborn ranger, made up multiple packs weighing no more than 30 pounds and finally concluded that in Arizona that would be no difference between a summer pack and a winter pack because of the extreme temperature ranges possible within 24 hours. 6. Get a pack that allows easy carry of a hydration unit that can be used as you walk. A study was done in Israel. One unit was marched from the northern border to the Red Sea with "water discipline". The second unit had hydration units and were free to drink as much as they wanted. The first unit was not able to perform upon arrival at the Red Sea. The hydrated unit was good to go.
