This summer I started taking riding lessons and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I ride three times a week (English) and I have to say, I think yoga has been my saving grace! If you have stiffness, tightness, tension or soreness in your body, this class will help you work through it which in turn will benefit your riding.
This is a 20 minute yoga class suitable for beginners and all levels. No previous yoga experience is necessary and even if you aren't an equestrian, you'll probably love the way this stretch feels!
These are the stretches I usually do when I get home from my lesson. They will work a lot on your inner thighs, quads, ankles and lower back but of course we will also get a few stretches in for our back and shoulders. It's a well rounded simple practice that any equestrian can benefit from, no matter how experienced or flexible you might be!
Flexibility can have an amazing positive impact on your riding, regardless of your discipline! I hope you enjoy this class :)

I used to compete even internationally in show jumping when I was in high school in Europe, but since I moved to the US for work I cant do it , costs are prohibiting. Best animals ever :)

I use yoga in all aspects of my business to help me and my students and my horses (i do a lot of horse-yoga/pilaties stretching for my horses, lol super beneficial for them too! 😊) . I'm so excited, I've been practicing with you for almost 2 years and you are my go to yoga instructor! I feel so special, a practice just for me it feels like, thank you so much, much love!!!❤🐴❤🐴

Oh yay!! That's awesome :) Yoga absolutely complements riding. I'm definitely a beginner but I can tell it has helped me a ton with balance and overall body awareness.

Kassandra you are the gift that just keeps giving to me. I have been following you for the last few months and I just love your sessions. The way that you explain each pose is on point. I am a horse rider all of my life, and as I am getting older my hips are not what they used to be. This class is so good, I love it and have done it a few times now and feel so relaxed after each session, enjoy your riding.

Horse Riding is what brought me to yoga actually. Used to train multiple horses a day, some of them still relatively fresh and it really takes a toll on you when the horse is not balanced yet and you as a rider need to compensate for the lack of stability. Yoga not only helped me stay healthy and subtle (my initial goal) but more than that: The increased body awareness had quite a positive impact on my riding as well. I encourage every equestrian to do yoga regularly.

This is awesome! Can’t wait to try. I would love to see 10-20 minutes videos targeted for lunch time individuals who work in an office setting. I try to get up throughout the day but by lunch time my neck and upper back are so stiff. Would love some extra stretch ideas to get through the rest of the work day

I am a full-bore equestrian. I have been since I've been a kid, had three horses when I was a teenager into my late teens before I went to college. but I had my own kids and just kind of r o d e periodically until my kids were more grown-up and I could indulge myself more fully. I was 48 and then I got my first horse and then two again. I tried your newest equestrian pre-ride stretch, it is the best I've ever done! Keep it up Kassandra! I love your exercises and stretches!

I enjoyed this lower body stretch, and I don't even ride horses. I could use an hour of stretches like these.
Loved these stretches though couldn’t get quite as deep as you do but still felt the benefits. I used to ride a lot and worked with horses for some years when a lot younger (I’m 70) so can really appreciate your love of riding. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I am in the quarantine hotel now. We still have to do 14 days quarantine when flying back to my country, Taiwan. For the first day, I notice that I spent most my day on my phone. After a long fly and a long day sitting on using phone. I notice the lower back is really stiff. I always love watching your KZread when I want to do some stretch. I plan glad that you have posted this dee lower back stretch. After following your guiding and finishing all the stretch with you, I feels much better. Thank you

I was an equestrian for the first half of my life...show jumped, trained horses and even worked with horses in the UK for a season riding several horses a day. Would have loved this practice then. Traded 4 legs in for 2 wheels couple decades ago and did thos practice off the bike this morning. Yep...works for cyclists as well. Thank you. 🙏 🏇🚴♀️

I rode for the first time in years today! my sister has been taking lessons/working out at our friends' ranch for a few years now. Today is the first day I have been able to go out and ride with her! we ended up riding for almost three hours. I ended up riding and trotting bareback for the first time! My legs are already sooo sore and it is very uncomfortable to sit.😂 but the pain is so worth it! I will definitely be riding more often! these stretches were great!

I second that! I started hunter lessons at a new barn recently and they had me doing some stretches that I have never done, scissor kicks, sit-ups, touching toes with opposite hands, obvi all in the saddle, and boy! am I out of shape! The scissor kicks gave me horrible cramps in my butt, the sit-ups made me feel weak, and the toe-touching almost made me slide right off! Can't wait to do these stretches! Please post more! You went into so much detail and it is much appreciated. I feel like a better rider just by watching this video.
Thank you for your fabulous classes! I started watching last month to prepare for a ski trip and this video came just at the right time as I am preparing to head for the hills. Not only does this set of stretches help with after riding, it's also great for getting rid of some of that après-ski tension in the feet and lower body.

I do not ride horses, but I tried this practice anyways because it's the perfect length for my lunch break... I'm so glad I did! I think this is equally helpful for sore muscles from running uphill (which I did this morning). I will use this after long, hilly runs in the future as well because it really targeted the lower body just perfectly. Thanks Kassandra for keeping great yoga free and accessible :)
I am a horseback rider and riding instructor as well. I am so fortunate that the owner of the riding program incorporates yoga into our riding lessons. I am also fortunate that she lets me create flows each month for the students. I have always enjoyed Kassandras videos, and I am very excited that she has started taking riding lessons as well. yoga is such a huge part of building strength to be able to ride properly. I absolutely love this yoga stretch video, but I use it as a ballet teacher!! We work our legs so hard in ballet, and these stretches target those hard to reach hip flexors and foot muscles/tendons. I also use it in conjunction with separate leg work out videos as well. I've shared it with my ballet students who love it. Thank you, Kassandra!
I don’t ride regularly, but this yoga practice was ideal for me after all the intense handstand training. Definitely helps ease sore leg muscles and stretches the toes that need to be pointed.Also opened up the shoulders. Loved it 😍 Namaste 🙏 xo
