But there are multiple layers of mockery :) They are also mocking foreign things (food products in this case) with exotic catchy names which are advertised as fresher and better than the original already-existing home-made one but which are often useless, and maybe worse, damaging and/or health/life-compromising :) Think about cars, food products, dance-fitness concepts, martial arts, anglicized technological devices or applications which are all just reinventing the wheel, and beyond that...

This is one of the silliest songs I have ever heard

Genius choreography at 1:08. The singer star of the video briefly turns his back to the camera, which is often a no-no in movie production standard rules. However, luckily, two random men are transporting a mirror at that exact moment, so we are still able to see the singer's face, even with his back turned. That scene happens so quickly, with several moving players - mirror men, singer, guy with big hookah lamp, cameraman - that it must've taken several attempts to get the timing & angles precisely correct. That's mind-blowing when you consider that this video was filmed in one long unbroken take, which means that messing up the timing of this subtle mirror scene would force them to stop filming, reset the whole area, and start again from scratch. That means this was a very risky little move to include, but that's why they've now earned my respect for doing it successfully. Well played.

There's actually 3 cuts. 0:48 a person walks in front of him before getting into the bus 1:30 camera pans quickly to Djoghurt, that's actually a cut 2:31 person walks in front of him again and they cut again, this time is very obvious since you can see the girl on the left has a jacket now (before the cut she had only a shirt) and the guys in the djoghurt circle table behind are in different positions

9 years ago when this was new me and my bestfriend would play this and have a blast. 8 years ago we moved 5000 miles away. I still come back to this song every now and then. It reminds me of all the amazing memories i had with him.

When I was 9 y.o., I discovered Ylvis because of that meme song and found some amazing gems like this, but I haven't know English as good as now, so I just forgot about this duo. Now, 5 years later, I've remembered about them. Since I know English better now, I can say that these guys are just masters of making senseless songs and music videos yet they have incredible talent

There's quite some side stories going on in the background if you look closely and I'm not sure I fully understand. Probably the biggest one is Vegard meeting this woman when he bumped into her. Then they play with a little baby as if it was theirs. Later we see him sitting on a motorbike and his, I assume, now wife is upset about it, with their more grown up kids staying behind her (maybe because he doesn't care for the kids enough?). At the end we see him lying on the street while Bard says all those sicknesses and his ex-wife sitting on Vegard's motorbike with another guy driving it. What's the meaning of this Also there's Calle being given some weird kind of oriental looking container thingy which he tries to get rid of lol

+Lynn Knott I think they have deep meanings, these guys are very intellectual and their point is: since the song is so easily made and their music video is so simple. They wanted some dark stories behind it :) Its still comedy. The comedic point in this video is that what is happening in the background har nothing to do with the song at all, only the people and objects he interact with.

Making fun of few ridiculous things found on some commercial songs such as: - when they repeat this singe word - when they insert senseless spanish sounding and italian sounding words, - when they think every italian-sounding word is about food and/or sounds cool (e/coli, legionella and co ) :D If you don't get the idea in this song of Ylvis, you're probably the reason why these above mentioned commercial songs exist.

They are actually Spanish, Japanese and Italian words. They just don't really go together. Some are foods, some seasoning like Tabasco is made in the US it's hot sauce. Some things are diseases, some things Bård says have a double meaning. The guy holding a sign written in Spanish says he wants man yoghurt. They know what they are doing - pure Ylvis silly/semi naughty.

Am I really playing this for the 7th time???? How on earth can they make such catchy songs? LOL The last time I heard Bård laugh like this was when he was drunk :-D Can't get enough of hearing it :)

I miss songs like that.

@@Xpzilla they are among the most famous A-list celebrities in Norway, they will forever be internationally known due to "what does the fox say" and all their music videos get millions of views. The only reason they're not super mainstream right now is cause they focus on their native talkshow, the songs are just sideprojects. Dont worry, they get plenty of attention.

kamatz well i just have to say that I didn't get any of the lyrics from after Bård went on the bus because then either Bård or Vegard were close to me and I was too starstrucked :P and since yesterday I have listened to the song on repeat more that 250 times I think :o that says a bit :P

Did anyone else notice Vegard Ylvis in the beackground? At the beginning he met a girl. Then later they got a child. Then he grew up and Vegard left them, and at the end Vegard had ended up in the street :)

Them: "You can't write a song with every line ending in the same word." Ylvis: "Hold my yoghurt." But for real, I always come back to Ylvis. People never knew they made other music and it's such a joy to tell them about songs like Yoghurt and Stonehenge.
