This movie is pure gem. The songs are outstanding. That train scence where SRK drinks water from that little boy for the first time instead of his mineral bottled water defines everything about his potential as an actor. He expressed his emotions so beautifully that it seemed so real. A.R Rahman's music, the songs especially this title track is outstandingly beautiful. One of the best gems bollywood has produced. Shahrukh Khan is just beyond any and every adjectives in this movie ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Great song , great music and composition by AR rahman sir. This song deserves National award.

It is unfortunate that some of the best movies of bollywood fail at box office like Swades, Andaz Apna Apna... that's why people hesitate producing such masterpieces ...don't know when Indian audience would change their taste...all they want is chhapripana

Bollywood peaked at Swades. Greatest Bollywood Film Of All Time. Period.

What feeling must be going through him. Working at NASA , seeing all the high technology, working for NASA requires a lot of smarts. Here he comes back, seeing the simplicity in front of him. Perhaps making him realize he is just like all , no better. Yes Practical thoughts take over. He must contribute, bring his talent to help. You can see space shuttle in the background. I used work on many shuttle missions doing dynamic loads for contractor for NASA. I have kind of felt like this sometimes. A road of bifurcation, and Union as well. Why can't two nations work together USA and India. My roots are still in India, USA has created a different kind of oppurtunity for me, it is not money , but it is knowledge.

This movie is my favourite definition of Nationalism - one that showcases citizen's working for the betterment of the nation and solving it's problems at a grass root level. After all, nationalism means more than waving the flag on 15 Aug. This movie lead me to have SRK as one of my top 3 favourite actors, the other 2 being - SSR and Irrfan.

Now everybody is talking about Jawan, Pathan, 500cr, 1000cr and all that.. Some movies and some songs can be eternal and withstand time.. You will not easily replicate that.. Once in a lifetime.. Swades is such a movie.. All are masterminds.. AR Rahman❤, SRK❤, Ashutosh❤

I am proud I have seen this movie in theatre. When Kaveri amma makes atta (wheat flour) with that stone mixer, the sound of it was coming from all 4 directions of theatre. In that scene SRK wakes up suddenly! Iconic scenes in this movie! That child with 25 paise water still rolls water through eyes!

To my next generation Indians, I came back to India in 2004 from US and just like me there were others and did what was possible for the country. Now, I leave again to US leaving this beautiful land for you to take forward. There are moments when it makes me sad as well as happy, it’s like Frodo leaving behind his friends.

I have seen this movie in theatre,it was empty,at that time I feel sad for the film maker that audience was not ready at that time .

I always thought bhargav took the wrong decision, but now i realise he took the right decision by coming back , human connection is above all.

I have been off and on in the US for the past few years and this song gnaws at me. I feel so missing swades that I spend several months an year home even though everyone dreams of being in the US. But, it is pardes. LOL, SRK acted in both swades and pardes.

Currently living in Oman but I listen this song everyday before I go to sleep and I know how it feels.

Same here Bhai, when i feel low i watch tis movie which really perks up my mood. It's a all time bollywood cult movie which lifts the bar i guess it will be difficult for any other movie to surpass it. Ashutosh, AR Rehman, Jawed Akhtar, SRK........
