The irony is that even in the lyrical video, the name of the lyricist is missing. Songs are nothing without lyrics. Sh. Irshad Kamil should have given credit for this song including the name of sufi saint who had first wrote the lyrics .

Was going through comments, this felt so touching. When Rockstar came, I was a literal child so never really understood or appreciated it. Except Sadda Haq, because 'Rakh Sale' as a child was too fun. Years passed, reexplored the movie when I grew up to a young teen... Fell in love... Now a young adult, still favorite Bollywood movie and album. One day I'll go through comments when I'll be a responsible adult, hope that day I'll remember today....

कागा सब तन खाइयो, चुन-चुन खाइयो मांस, दोइ नैना मत खाइयो, पिया मिलन की आस . यह बाबा फरीद ( हजरत ख्वाजा फरीद्दुद्दीन गंजशकर ) द्वारा लिखा हुआ है . वे भारत में चिश्ती सम्प्रदाय के संस्थापक माने जाते हैं और निज़ामुद्दीन औलिया के गुरु थे . इन पंक्तियों का मतलब है - हे काग ( कव्वा ) - तन के हर जगह का मांस खाना - पर आँखों का नहीं - क्योंकि मरने के बाद भी आँखों में पिया ( प्रभु ) मिलन की आस रहेगी ही रहेगी . सूफी मत में - प्रेमिका या प्रेमी से तात्त्पर्य - परमात्मा से ही रहता है , सो यहाँ पिया मिलन - हकीकत में प्रभु मिलन है .

This is not written for the song. It's actually a poem by Farid ud Din Ji back from 13th century. The poem is actually dedicated to God. They converted the poem into a song.

Almost a year ago I suffered from depression. It was during that time I heard this song for the first time and fell in love with it. I got obsessed with this song. I had a personal interpretation that seemed totally relatable in the situation. It was like my mind addressing my heart as a bird which is flying way too many places(the one I have been in the past) and being so much restless. Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja - Telling the heart to stop living in the past and come back to the future. To the home. And leave things behind and make everything normal back to the way it was......

I was just 16 years old when it was released in 2011, and it hit directly into the heart. I didn't know the meaning of "kaga kaga re more..." that time, but used to sing that again again. Since then listening to this song. It has become like a habit.
