The arrest was justified, they had to get to the bottom of what happened but being charged and placed in prison for murder wasn't justified.

Yes you’re right the arrest was justified 💯 but t then put her name in the paper until she was found guilty was just pure wrong in my eyes 👀💯 I think you shouldn’t be allowed to realise anyone’s name until they have been found guilty of the crime 🤷‍♀️ because there will always be people out there who think “there is no smoke without fire” and convict them without any evidence and then this kind of things happen to her and her family 😫

can someone explain why exactly they arrested her if she wasn’t there? Did they hang out earlier in the day?

I was wrongly charged with a group of offences and through police lies I was found guilty at magistrates court. I made the whole front page of the local newspaper and minor articles in others. Weeks later I attended Crown Court to appeal my conviction. An usher came out and told me the prosecution had withdrawn all allegations and I could go home. No judge told me I was innocent, no media saw me being found innocent. I got nothing in writing. I went to the local newspaper and asked if they could post an article that updated their front page and was told they weren't required to do so and therefore wouldn't. So there is still the story out there that I am a criminal, but nothing out there saying I'm not. And as many would say, there's no smoke without fire........

Hi mate, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble with being charged with offences that you maybe hadn't committed. As for police officers lying, it's a matter for professional standards, a division that investigates police conduct. Regarding the stories in the paper, if it was a while ago, email them under right to be forgotten laws and rehabilitation of offenders act, send them an email using those acts and they will remove those stories. I cannot say anything more than that as I am myself a serving police officer, but we aren't all the same mate, I assure you. I hope my advice can be of help for you!

@@ste9071 Offences I HADN'T committed, there's no 'maybe' about it. Which kind of proves my point. It was decades ago and the idea that not all police are the same is of no comfort. It isn't a few bad apples, it's the many so-called good apples that confirm each others stories, agree a line before writing up their notes, claim they heard incriminating details when they weren't even there and perjure themselves in court. I have no faith in the police and cross the street when I see them.

@Don Doodat best analogy I ever heard was if there was one poison gumball in a machine filled with them would you still want to try some? It doesn't matter if the amount of police who are corrupt is in the minority, it still lowers our trust in the system.

@@SynisterNation Many serving police have criminal records and are allowed to stay in the force. At least 150 Met Police have criminal convictions. How can anyone have confidence in that ? The rot is from top to bottom. Police officers forget they are supposed to be autonomous, not target driven. How many times has Michael Gove been stopped and searched when white powder has been found all over Westminster and police meet him nearly every day ? What were the police doing watching parties at No.10. Has Prince Andrew helped anyone with their enquiries ? When certain people are above the law it isn't law anymore, it's just a racket.

@Don Doodat i agree, I was simply saying that it doesn't matter how many are corrupt, It still affects the publics trust in the system. Until the officers stop standing by and letting corrupt officers continue abusing their power how can they ever expect us to have any faith in them performing their jobs honestly.

Her partner was sent to prison, that should have been a light bulb moment to change the people she associated with. I hope she is doing well.

I'm not saying that this law shouldn't be in place. But, how can someone who literally murdered a boy (harry dunn) get nothing but a suspended sentence, and she can spend 6 months in prison even though she's innocent? Maybe a slight reduction in the sentence for the crime they thought she'd committed, and an increase in the sentence for death by careless driving, would be apt.

The perfect example of 'If you show me your friends, I will show you your future.'

You have done nothing wrong. So enjoy your life . Just remind yourself that this moment is yours and your in control. Relax and find pleasure in all that you do.

As with many laws, they can be used wrongly against innocent people or those innocent people can get caught up in something that had nothing to do with them.... HOWEVER! "joint enterprise" when applied correctly is a needed law for some cases, just take "honey trapping" cases as a prime example. The "honey" may not have actually committed the murder/ assault but participated in everything aspect but the physical act in full knowledge of what would or COULD happen then try to play unknowing bystander/ victim... unacceptable and that's just one example. It's also worth mentioning that lessons can always be learned about the company you keep, and being mindful that it may have unforeseen repercussions.

Her father says " they " the police couldn't come and say they were wrong, welcome to our police system.

"joint enterprise" laws are needed. They are useful. Just because you are the lookout in a bank robbery, doesn't make you any less guilty if one of the robbers decides to shoot an innocent party... Having said that, there have to be checks and balances, which there clearly are. However, the prosecution has to do a better job and only accuse those for whom they have a valid case

I know of a few joint enterprise cases that are totally unjust, joint enterprise needs a massive shake up as do conspiracy laws as they are lazy laws that drag everyone in instead of distinguishing roles using common sense

Could say, Parole Officers are leaving themselves open for arrest, too, for 'helping', we could say. Something a bit warped here, we could also say.

The law is good as it is. The red flags were there. You're going out with a criminal. You befriend the girlfriend of another criminal. You're ferrying bad guys. How many warnings do you need? Dad was right to be cautious of others. Sadly the kids never listen to dad

There is a line that needs to be there; bystanders or accomplices, when does that line cross? It's easy to say I don't do the act, but did you facilitate or have any direct involvement in the act? Where there measures you could have taken to prevent it?

If kiri did not take the blame for whoever actually did the crime concerned, She & Her Parents would've been receiving Death threats from the blue fiith (police) & could of had a dozen attempts on their lives, I now fear this happen to me for real.

No, if you KNOW your friends are bad and you decide to hang out with them, and ESPECIALLY if you know they're gonna commit a crime, you deserve to rot too.
