It was gloomy here on Friday. Storm moving in, windy and starting to rain. Then......Sweetie showed up to brighten my day! I hadn't seen her in about a week. So, of course I spoiled her.
Sweetie had been coming around to see me for months before Spencer showed up. She would come and see me every day. Then Spencer started coming by. At first he was pretty aggressive, chasing her away. Then the aggressiveness turned into what looked like playful chasing. They started showing up together, looking like a cute squirrel couple. I thought for sure we were going to have squirrel babies! Then one day Sweetie disappeared. Which worried me to death. There are lots of cars around here and also a hawk that prowls the area. Two weeks went by, when to my delight she showed up on the porch! She would only come by once or twice a week though and never when Spencer was around. Turns out she just doesn't like Spence all that much. I didn't catch it on video but Spencer actually showed up during this visit. You can see Sweetie get startled when she was jumping down with her nuts at 1:20. She accidently dropped the Hazel nut she could barely fit in her mouth and Spencer grabbed it. There was no aggression, they were pretty much just avoiding each other. "Awkward!"
She showed up again this morning! Two days in a row! I love her so much.
