My wife and I have been rescuing squirrels for years now. We love each and every one of the little guys and gals. They are so willing to live after long falls or tree cutters or mama kicking them out of their nest. They work hard to live and survive. We give them everything they need to do it and they give back love and loyalty in return. Each morning I can walk out the back door and have 4-6 squirrels waiting for me. They run to me or jump on my shoulders saying "Hey, Dad. where's the food?". Once released I provide whole kernel corn and black oil sunflower seeds and a bit of fresh water in the mornings for them. From there they do their thing and bury acorns and forage whatever food they can for the day. We still have some that come into the back porch to have babies. They stay as long as they feel comfortable then transfer them to the Oaks to teach them their life lessons. This all started with one little gal that fell from her nest and hit the concrete. We did not know if she was going to live so we named her "Hope" . Hope did live and turned out to be a NR (non-releasable" squirrel and taught us the basics of squirrel life. She started us on a very worthwhile journey saving all of the little guys and gals we can. At times we have had as many as 12-14 little ones at a time to raise and release. They are not good pets so if healthy do them a favor and let them live God's life up in the canopies of the trees. Free and proud. Thanks for the video !!

I don't care (much) if they eat out of my bird feeders. Fun to watch! 🙂

I found my squirrel under the same conditions, birds were trying to get at him. He's now full grown and he actually live in a hole outside my porch in my roof lol. Kinda funny and nice he found and chose a spot literally right outside my place. He comes down to see me everyday and i tell him goodnight when he goes back up. People get annoyed when i say he's my son but i raised him like one and love him like one so in my eyes he is. His name is Rezzyl, weird name but i wanted an exotic one.

Great video! Brought back a ton of memories! I grew up with a pet squirrel named Frisky from the time i was 5 or 6 years old until she passed peacefully in my arms almost 14 years later. Frisky was my best little buddy as a child and was a prominent part of my childhood. She was always there! She had a big cage but most of tge time she had the run of my bedroom if not the house. Many nights she slept curled into a ball in the corner of my pillow case right by my ear. She was first to rise and would repeatedly jump from my headboard to my pillow until i woke. After 10 minutes of "BOOOOM.....BOOOOM.....BOOOOM!" I had no choice but to get up and play for a while before school. Squirrels are such amazing little animals! Theyre so intelligent, playful and sooo affectionate! They truly LOVE spending time with you and absolutely feel love just as we do. No one could argue against that having seen how excited Frisky was when i came home from school after a whole 8 hours away and how she would rush to my shoulder so she could cover my face with love and kisses. They are so playful and rowdy and just bursting with energy but when its time to wind down, they can be the best little snuggle bugs ever! Great little animals! I have rescued around 12 baby squirrels so far. I have 1 that was abandoned by its mother and father both of which I used to hand feed and also lived in one of the trees my back garden. I dried the abandoned baby off while it was raining and the next day it she was letting feed her (old enough to eat nuts) she's around 6 years old now and her and her sister still visit to this day and bring their babies to be fed. I currently have around 21 squirrels that I supply food to and at least 14 if those let you hand feed and stroke them. Some I can shout their name from across the road and they react and come running like a pet dog. Really intelligent animals.

Hi there just wanted to say I had a budgie for 12years i I woke up one morning to the saddest day ov my life my little feathered friend had passed on 💔💔💔it made me I'll for a long time one day I just started feeling the bird's in my bk garden before I knew it is got these little creatures in my garden pinching the bird's food lol so then I started buying them food and nuts there's now 8 IV noticed but they always run away from me I wish I could get a little closer loved watching this thank you for sharing xx

I also found a tiny baby squirrel in my garage. Fed with an eye dropper. Loved her for many years. She was a wonderful part to my family & will always have a place in my heart. Love seeing videos of other squirrels!!

The squirrel cage is a work of art. Did you make it yourself? If so, it would be great if you could post an instruction video for the rest of us squirrel rescuers. Dad rescued a baby squirrel years ago. He made a cage, nothing like your beautiful master piece, which they called "The Chippy Hilton." They hung a bun warmer, that mom purchase at the art fair, from the top of the cage. It was quilted material with two top flaps. Chippy loved ❤ it, and made it her sleeping nest. Chippy was very territorial and only 💕 Mom and Dad. When people came to visit they had to put her in "The Chippy Hilton" as she would attack and bite anyone who came to visit. No need to have an attack dog for protection with Chippy around. She was fierce and had drawn blood on a few occasions. She was a handfull at times, chewing on ever piece of wood in the house, but they 💕 her and she definitely loved 💕 them. Thank you for posting your video. It was beautifully done, and brough back so many memories of Mom, Dad and Chippy who have now all passed away. I miss them all . 🐱

I used to fed 3 squirrel a big gray squirrel, a red squirrel, ND a chip monk , I fed them on a trelace out side kitchen window , ND if I didn't have the peanut butter wasn't out the chip monk would hang off the trelace and throw a fit
