Great video thanks for the uncomplicated breakdown and bonus theory lesson. Really helps contextualize it all, and the tutorial is super easy to follow and usable.

I only clicked on this video because I just finished adjusting my valves and like a dumbass didn't pay attention to the orientation of the intake valve cover when I removed it. But, I must say, you did a really good job of explaining and show everything for those that are new to this sort of thing. I'll have to check out your channel a bit once I get this thing back together and have some time... Thanks for going to the trouble!

Thank you for making this video! I followed your instructions just yesterday to adjust the valves on my 2006 XT225. Bought the bike last summer with 433 miles on it! I'm now at 1000+ and loving every mile! Hope you still have yours, and am crossing my fingers that you will record a clutch replacement when you get to that point.

SO, how'd it go? I too have a '92. It's making a noise that I believe is due to the valves.

great video,the 225 and 250 are notable for not having shim's and being so simple to do this procedure on,the Robertson Screw idea is a neat idea too.

Excellent, clear and concise explanation - not just 'how' but why. I have a 1991 Serow with low mileage that I have decided to get to grips with and learn, whilst tricking out for some TET duties here in Europe, specifically for finding fly fishing opportunities in high or backcountry. I was wondering whether the big tank is worth it or whether to carry a gallon of fuel in a rack set up alongside the rear of the bike and under my soft panniers. Any thoughts? Thanks again for some enthusiastic and encouraging videos.

Probably the most helpful video on the subject but, I was wondering whether that exhaust valve needed adjusting. It seemed that the low range "feel" was passing while upper range was very tight or not passing which is exactly how it should be. If I understand correctly, the problem (if it really is a problem) was on the intake side as both low and high feel passed through indicating that it may be open too much. Not trying to put down this fantastic video, just trying to understand as I saw in another video where guy was using only one feel in the mid of the range. He was also turning crank shaft counter clockwise which seems to me more accurate. (I guess lifting and turning rear tire may be the easiest way though if having helper.)

A Robertson screw screwed into a small round piece of wood worked to adjust the valves on my Suzuki.

I was just checking my valves because I heard a ticking noise at idle and I can feel and see the side to side play in the rocker arm looks like the cam is getting scored up to I’ll probably be replacing both rocker arms and cams once it gets worse

Do you think this could be the same clearance for 1987 Yamaha tt225?

Is there anyway you make a video on complete cable lubrication on your xt225. I have the owner's manual but it's vague and not to clear on instructions. My bike is 2005. So it's very similar to yours. Please explain all the priority cable points to hit to when lubrication. This video is very easy to follow in your valve adjustment procedure. I'm sure when you make a video on cable lubrication it shouldn't be a head scratcher. It would be simple enough to follow.

A breather tube runs to the front of the airbox from the case. When the piston goes up and down it creates air pressure in the case. To release the pressure it is vented to the airbox. The Oil in the form of vapor collects in the airbox. Wipe clean and check to see how fast it collects. If it's seems fast, you might have blow by. Pressure leaks by the piston rings and adds to the case pressure which increases the oil build up.

clean the carb, check the fuel flow into the carb, check petcock. check air vent to tank not blocked.
