    It certanly does. The puig touringscreen gives good protection and my Sh58x topbox provides plenty of space for a longer tour, combined with a bag infront of it. Much more space then the two small standard sidecases. I have been riding big bikes for 37 years now and am surprised every time about the power between 30 to 160 kph. Above that it is a bit laking in power, but heey, how often do you ride above 160 kph, especialy for longer stints. Nearly 4000 km now and very much loving this versatile, good handling bike.

    the whole thing with the Tracer 7 is that it's meant to be a 'no frills' bike, no superfluous tech, handles really well on the types or roads prospective owners will be riding, and will be one of the most reliable engines out there, long term. If you want to do mega-mile touring in total comfort it's not the bike for you. If you want to keep up with R1s round the track, likewise, but if like most riders you use a bike for commuting, day-rides, nipping to the shops, moto-camping and the ocassional holiday tour, this bike ticks all the boxes without breaking the bank. There's a reason loads of the hire tour companies run Tracer 7s as their fleet bikes.. If you want all the bells, whistles and rider aids look elsewhere, but much like Honda did with the CB500X, Yamaha nailed the intended design brief with the Tracer 7. I don't think you give it enough credit.....

    I used to own a Tracer 700, which was my first and only new bike, after a barely roadworthy Triumph Legend 900 and took the T700 around Europe multiple times. I loved it. It made a lovely noise as well with the full Termignoni exhaust system i installed. I now own a 1250GSA and even though that’s definitely a better bike across the board, it’s also crazy expensive. I’d still recommend the Tracer 700 as a perfectly capable and affordable sporty tourer. Yamahas are also the more reliable bikes imo - more reliable than the BMW in any case, which has thrown me some curveballs on the road.

    I have been riding my tracer7 2023 for 3000 km's now and can do 23,4 km on 1 liter of fuel. So 350 km's in one stretch is no problem. Like to see a bmw gs 1300/ducati multistrada do the same. 😂 And with my Puig touring screen and sh 58x topbox I have no problem riding long stretches. And it looks and rides sooo damn good. If it only would sound a bit better.

    The Tracer 7 looks better than the Tracer 9. Screens are more problem that they're worth. I ran a B-King for over seven years. No need for a screen, although that wasn't in England in winter. Nick

    Winter in the UK hits differently to anywhere else in the world, ever. Haha, only joking, it just sucks and is wet and cold a lot over here. I used to remove the screen off my MT10 so it was clean air hitting me rather than getting strange turbulence.

    The heavy Triumph Speed Master, has a 1200cc engine, and doesn't put out anymore horsepower than the Tracer 7. And the Speed master cost considerably more.

    I was 1 week of ownership in and the noise was making me regret my purchase. I bought a £20 deflector and it cured it. Now 6000 miles in and I love it.

    It's a perfect out-for-the-day bike. light agile economic but beware you can still easily lose your licence on the bike. The first thing to do is change the tyres to Battlax T22.

    Ah lets face it, you can lose your licence on a 125 Grom, but i agree there is something about a smaller, cheaper all round bike that hits better than a £25k all singing Ducati Multistrada, not saying i wouldnt have a Ducati though :)

    As an all year round tyre you struggle to beat the Michelin road pilot 6 by the way,I’ve done 2 winters on them and there really good in the wet

    @@Chriswilliams-lx9mx amem to the Michelin road pilot. Lost the front twice on Bridgestones. Changed to conti, they were good but when I wore them out Michelins where only £2 more so I thought why not. Have never run another tyre since.

    I like the style of the tracer,i just wouldnt consider the smaller engined offering.if its got an eye of touring,i can see the smaller motor being a bit tedious 2up!im of the age where i still dont class 10k being cheap,if you want my honest opinion i reckon the manufacturers are laughing themselves to sleep over what we pay these days.nice review though mate,honest as always.

    Gone the days where the top tier litre bikes were around the £10k mark aye. Sad to say I remember those days 🤦🏻🤣. They’re all in it together. Manufacturers and finance companies. They charge more. Finance companies bring out the new pcp meaning we tell ourselves we can afford the high price of the bike. It’s a loop. We’re in the matrix now 🤣

    @@DSR1YT it feels like that.i got out of the loop for 14 years,just kept my zx10r.tbf,now ive got a newer bike i feel under pressure to service it every 12months and the worry of electrical failure.

    What's your opinion on this versus the standard Tenere 700? Just wondering what the Tracers suspension is like dealing with rough backroads and potholes etc. cheers 👍🏻

    @@DSR1YT It is fine, I am used to it at slow and fast speeds. Took me a bit to get used to this engine but now it does everything I want it to do at ease.

    @@DSR1YT The downsides I found is the ignition key turning and the fuel indicator not beeing acurate at the start of a ride a lot of times

    Does the Mt 07 GT have a headlight adjustment, as my mates got a 07 but when two up the headlight is off to the moon, Great video keep em coming 👍

    Honestly I couldn’t tell you that mate. Hopefully someone else here can. I know when me and Zoe went two up on her 07 I found that with the lights as well. Don’t get me started on the suspension 🤣🤙

    Yes it has a central screw in the fairing. You can reach it very easily with a screwdriver.

    Boy you really know how to bag out a smaller capacity, lower priced motorcycle, I've never heard so much whinging. I used to have an 2021 XSR900XP and it went like stink and handled like shit. The tracer 700 is easier to ride, better fuel economy, less ass aches, and is more comfortable on long rides.

    @@DSR1YT I also have a beemer and it is the bees knees. Was comparing it to the XSR. Point is you get what you pay for. For a so called budget bike it does OK.

    A great review, Matt. Usually brakes don't needed to be bedded in much when new these days, so their effectiveness is a concern. Any bike that purports to be a GT these days should feature a comfortable seat (tick), luggage (tick), decent range (half ticked), good wind/weather protection (tick for shorter riders?) and cruise control (strike). Seat, windshield and CC make an immense amount of difference to reducing fatigue when covering big distances, which is what a "GT" is supposed to be built for.

    Decent range ticked you mean. The Tracer is so economical. I do 350 km's on a tank of fuel. And still have 2 litres left!

    350kms is barely ok. 400kms minimum is what we've always found to be a practical minimum. To much potential to get caught without fuel otherwise. More than fine in the UK, I have no doubt! 🙂

    My wife's R1250R, My R1250GSA (560kms+), my R1150GS (just....), my R100RS, my previous Kawasaki GT750 etc, etc. Anything less than that we carry either a 5lt or 10lt fuel can. 400kms makes it so much easier to plan (guaranteed) fuel stops otherwise it's ride for the first 50-100kms then stop to top up just in case.......

    ​@@couttsy222yeah, in your dreams. A gs runs 1:18. So with 20 l fuel you can do 360k when you run it completely dry. If you want 2l in your tank left, you can only drive 324k. My 1:23,4 is my average over 3000 km !

    Very good review. But for a touring bike, it would have to be shaft driven or belt driven. It's aggravating to have to clean and oil a chain every 500 miles, while on a 2000 mile trip
