I have the A6A and it seriously bought my surrounds and Atmos speakers to life compared to my last AV. If I was blind folded I would think my speakers had been upgraded, it’s is that much better. I hope you get your extra speakers soon because I think the A8A is going to sound phenomenal if the A6A is anything to go by!

The a8a will have 2 x 9026 pro dacs compared to just 1 for the a6a plus better transformer separation..not worth the extra dollars..im still waiting for my a6a to arrive

@@markbarsby5770 Yeah, the A8A isn’t enough of a jump to justify the price difference compared to how much more the A6A offers over the A4A.

Here in Australia, we get an additional 5yrs on top of the already 5 years warranty totalling 10yrs for the flagship Aventage, plus a gift from Yamaha a Aventage watch when you register your flagship Aventage receiver. Enjoy your receiver as it is an amazing receiver and I cannot wait for update for the 8k 60 and 4K 120 plus Auro 3D.. having it for the last 2 months it hasn’t missed a beat..

Congratulations!!! I love the A8A and the 5 year warranty!!! Now I'm waiting for all my speakers to come in 🤬I only have one of my KEF center speaker hooked, followed by two much older speakers for my fronts and a subwoofer. Yamaha has done a great job so far.

You know the feet on the new Aventage rage are made of solid metal and not as in the 30 series also the middle foot weighs 5KG on it's own so that's 13Lbs right there. Also I am leaving upgrading for another 9 months specifically to iron out any gremilns that may arise so hopefully there will be reductions or at least a demonstrator model better than paying full whack from the get go. These receivers always drop in price just have to wait.

@Max Chambliss II Yamaha RX-A8A suppots 11.2 channels, so how is it possible to have 7.1.4 setup with upper speakers? Do you know what is a difference between those two setups? Will it be working good with 7.1.4 regardless of the 11.2 support?

Wow... One of the lucky few! Thanks for your video. Very interested in this beast as I'm hesitating between this Yamaha flagship receiver and the Anthem MRX 1140. How would you describe the sound signature vs your previous Denon? Also, did you get a chance to try out Yamaha's new DSP features like virtual height effects? Thanks and enjoy your new toy!

I don’t have all my speakers as of yet. I just recently installed my center speaker, my spare front speakers, and in-ceiling speakers for atmos. I am currently waiting for my in-wall surrounds and my more prominent front speakers. For a preliminary review, I would say that the A8A is a warm sound that has a tilt towards the bass frequencies. The bass and vocals are more prominent, and the higher sounds, though present, are quieter and subdued. Once I get all my speakers, that is where I’m going to go into more detail. But so far, I’m very impressed, and I consider this as a huge upgrade from my Denon 4500h 😁

Hey Max, Just picked this unit up myself, and have the same setup that you were/are planning on with the 11.2 system. Can you tell me, for the Atmos speakers (I have SVS prime elevations). Do I just wire them in to the front and rear presence? (Extra SP 1 & Extra SP 2). I’m guessing this is what I do, but just want to be sure. Thanks Max.

  • @skyliner967

@@themafia3119 yep I love it. I replaced a Denon X6500H and I like the sound and fullness of the Yamaha so much more. Note: I use my setup pretty much solely for movies though and little to no music in this room as it’s a dedicated home cinema, so I can’t comment on the music side of things, and from everything I’ve read, the SR8015 is more musically tuned in general. So if you use yours for music, maybe take that into consideration. For movies though, I am super impressed with it. Not a big fan of the front display as it’s a bit too small for me to read the text on the display from my main listening position, but that’s only a minor gripe as I don’t sit there looking at the front display once the movie it going.

What’s the definition of early adopter? Is there a cut off date? First I heard if this program on any vid I’ve seen for this receiver. Does it apply to A6A?

I do not have the exact details of the cut off date but if you go to the Yamaha website and search for the promotion. you will find that they are offering 2-Year Additional Manufacturing Warranty for RX-A2A, RX-A4A, RX-A6A and RX-A8A. I am unable to post link in the comments but you will find by doing a search.

Assuming that your using that Amp in the basement where you are filming, your voice has an extreme echo there. You might want to consider putting carpet or an area rug down and maybe some thick curtains up to stop the sound waves from bouncing off the walls and floor. Your not going to reach the full potential of surround if the sound waves aren’t coming from the direction they are supposed to.

Right now, I’m enjoying the A8A. Yes, this receiver has its issue, but I think it's an upgrade from my Denon 4500H from the sound department. I can’t speak to the other Adventage line. But if you’re thinking about upgrading, I would wait for right now until all the bugs are fixed.

The new Yamaha Receivers are already available. The issue is the shortages due to chip manufacturing and the demand. I would keep checking online to see if it's available. I purchased my unit through Bestbuy online. I was lucky enough to snag one before it sold it. Denon, Marantz Pioneer, and other AV Receivers are going through the same issue. Denon and Marantz applied a $500 price increase to all the receivers because of demand and shortages.

After the debacle I want through last year with Yamahas future firmware updates for the HDMI 2.1 chipset that obviously could not be done die to defective chips, Im glad I get rid of mine. That huge plastic control knob I could not get accustomed to, and that small display is virtually useless. Got the Onkyo RZ-50 before supplies dried up a month ago - then best $1500.00 receiver of all the AVR's I've tested to date. Yamaha disappointed me big time.

I completely understand your frustration with Yamaha and the other manufacturers. 2020 was a disaster for the AV community in regards to the HDMI 2.1. I was going to pick up the RZ-50, but I really need an 11.2 receiver. I’m hopeful that Yamaha will have everything together with the new 2021 AV. Thank you for taking your time to watch my video 🙏🏾
