Fun fact: the toe-drag forehand-to-backhand scored at 7:00 by #14 Jordan Eberle was his first NHL career goal. He scored it in his very first NHL career game, which was the first game of the season, and the Edmonton Oilers were playing their provincial arch-enemies Calgary Flames in what is called "The Battle of Alberta" and the rivalry goes back 40 years. Oh, he also scored it on the penalty kill which is just **chef's kiss**

You should watch the Stanley Cup finals, coming up shortly. You'll like it, it's going to be a good one. Hockey is the best sport. I say that as someone who's not really into sports. The stuff that you like is basically the whole game. It's always fast, back and forth, low stopage time. The goaltending is the best in sports to watch. Even low scoring games can be spectacular because of it. Maybe you've since watched goaly highlights, but if you haven't you're in for a treat, as good as this. It is just as impressive. You get used to losing the puck, the NHL has the best camera angles for replays in sport to make up for it.

NOW! Is probably the best time to start getting into hockey. For so long, this game had been held back by less talented, bigger, nastier, older players since this used to be the way to win especially in the playoffs. Since like 2015, the game has soared in goal scoring because players are faster, more skilled and younger than ever before in the NHL. Every year, we see new crazy dekes and plays being shown and mainly done by the rookies and superstars. Number 13 for the Red Wings (all red jersey with white highlights) is the guy who started these mind boggling dekes. I feel like every player in the NHL idolizes the Magic Man.

hey look, hockey is probably one of the most intense sports of the major 4... I grew up playing it recreationally - almost no one understood .... But it's nice to see people appreciate the sport - I mean it's an extremely difficult sport to play.... Look I was drafted by the White Sox back in the day because I played baseball too but I never signed because I was obsessed with hockey - and I really wanted to be a hockey player - I kinda sucked, lol - but I had fun..... Look these dudes are skating at 20 MPH essentially dong numerous crossovers then deaking the goalie out of their jock strap ...... Hockey is easily one of the most entertaining er - there is no emotion to describe playoff h hockey - it will leave you shaking at times - it can just get so creative and intense at times - intensity in the playoffs, creativity usually during the regular season.... Yea, the coach is going to bench your butt if you pull these moves in the playoffs unless you've pulled them off successfully in the past, lol.... And even if you do score you may get "reprimanded " for even trying it if it's against the game plan, lol..... So yea, you could get benched for doing that by your own team, lol.... Hockey is still a fantastic sport and I would recommend it to anyone.... Also some of those dangles were even more impressive because they started them at the blue line or stole the puck and remained "on-side" - I just wanted to point that out - it's a hockey rule I really don't want to explain right now - but my fellow hockey fans will absolutely appreciate that, lol...

Hockey is definitely one of the most athletic and difficult sports in the world. It's an incredibly fast and violent sport, and you only get the puck on your stick for just a few seconds at a time, and probably don't have the puck for over 1 minute during an entire game... and yet the top players are always doing magic with it despite the speed and limited opportunities.

Lotta mutual support between NHL and NBA teams. Especially in situations like Chicago the Bulls and Blackhawks share the same stadium, similar red and black look, then on a long homestand one team's off day will be the other team's game day so you'll see them once in a while taking in a game of the other and rooting for each other. It's kinda noice.

SPEED: A hockey player in full flight in a game on avg hit 25mph and some over 30mph FINESSE: You've seen it in this video! At speeds being able to Deke, Juke and Dangle through players trying to knock the down to the unforgiving ice! PHYSICALITY: Out Strengthening your opponents for the puck, to Bone Crushing hits, a player always has to keep their head up! FIGHTING: With 2 willing and able opponents I believe hockey is the only sport in the world that allows its players to Duke it out to settle misgivings! 7:51 Rick Nash scored this goal with less than 30 seconds left in the game, breaking the 3-3 tie. Truly a heartbreaker for the home fans that think this game is going to OT only to lose 4-3 on that absolute gem of a goal. Something like this just happened this year, the Avalanche eliminated the Blues at home in game 6 on a goal scored with just over 5 seconds left in the game. It was not as flashy as this one but the heartbreak is still the same.

I was there for the avalanche and wings rivalry and for all of the cups we won. We got Steve Yzerman back home to get us back right. Tampa is about to have their 3rd straight Stanley cup. Aka a team Steve Yzerman mostly put together. Our future is bright. Joe Sakic (avalanche) Steve Yzerman (red wings) are both GMs for the teams they played their careers for. I can’t wait Until they face off in the playoffs like old times.

Hockey is severely underrated. A crossover in basketball can't hold a candle to a sweet hockey dangle. The basketball is huge compared to a puck. Basketball players wear grippy sneakers on a grippy floor. Hockey players have to balance themselves on a slippery surface while riding on top of razor blades... at much higher speeds while carrying a curved stick.

The awesome thing about it is, if you're a hockey fan and you watch games all the time, especially in the nhl, you see this shit happen all the time. Constantly. And it's rad. It's not like baseball where you may never see a grand slam or some crazy play except for rare circumstances. You see awesome shit happen all the time. Also, go check out some smaller local hockey. Like I'm in east Texas and locally we have the Shreveport mudbugs. Smaller rink, but all of the fans are way more into it, you're way closer to the ice, it's more agressive, there's more hits, more fights. In fact, that's my only complaint about hockey in general these days. The refs don't let guys go at it as much. They always try to break them up immediately. And idk why. They're just gonna keep trying to fight till you let them go and get it over with. But yeah bro, truly the best game out there. I love it. I recommend getting the video game if you're just getting into hockey. Also the Stanley cup championship is on right now so definitely check that out. Even the regular season is great, but playoffs are the best. Oh also, if you're gonna root for a team, root for the Dallas stars. They're the best team ever created

These dangles are exactly why every coach worth his salt tells his defensemen to play the body not the puck!

Starry night lol 😮haha. It's fun watching when it's my first time seeing all this myself. I'm same way , it's hard to watch on TV and I never see puck but highlights are insane. Def the most underrated sport not even a argument for any other

i love when people from other sports watch hockey and can understand why we watch/play it, its incredibly skilled and rough aswell and basically allows fights. why wouldnt you wanna see a guy going 30mph into a hit lmao, its also the fastest sport out there

Little tip, instead of pressing play-stop-play-stop. Press > for frame by frame slow motion.

I've been watching hockey for about 40 years and still need slow motion don't worry about that. Think Barry Sanders on ice skates. A comment about best goalie saves, I second that. Some dudes are shooting puck at 100 MPH

It is but mere inches that determines whether or not a video ends up in a greatest hits or best dangles video

I kind of agree with your point on golf. I can't stand it when I'm *watching* it, but playing it myself is another story. It's all about being calm, taking your time, taking your surroundings into account, making a plan, then executing. And when it comes together its a great feeling. Judt boring af to watch😅

As a hockey player since '72, I'd say your reactions to these plays are probably the same as teammates on the bench when it happened.
