Xtool honeycomb sag fix

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

After seeing several posts about sagging honeycomb panels, I investigated to see if my XTool suffered from this issue. I found that I did have sag and needed a cure. I use some plexiglass to create a center support for the honeycomb and installed it in my enclosure.

    Can't say I blame you. I probably wouldn't mention it either...lol

I did the same, but I just put a white ceramic tile in the center and levels everything perfect

Good idea, the ceramic should work nicely

Did you buy the ceramic tile as is in Home Depot? I don’t have cutting machines.

Awesome idea! Wonder if xTool will be sending out acrylic to fix the issue ;-)

A small aluminum support would be ideal. Who knows, they may decide my idea is cheaper.

Hi, this question is off-topic, but I think you are probably most qualified to answer it. It seems like you've run your D1 for a very long time. Can you give an estimate of how many hours and also if you've noticed any degradation in power? Thank you.

I haven't noticed any issues, mine does not have the glass lens that everyone has issues with. I only used compressed air to clean the interior of the laser module. As you can tell, I operate in a highly dusty area. I can still drop cut 4.5 mm material with 4 passes. Its usually cut on 3 but the 4th is just a precaution. I do run the air assist and the honeycomb when cutting.

@@TheClackShack wait so you removed the lens cover? No issues with it? Would a can of air work for spraying it out?

@@jhroche75 , mine came this way. I haven’t messed with it.

@@jhroche75 , the lens that is inside the laser head must have been added after mine was built. It doesn't have the same brass end as those that do. Mine simply has a hole going into the device. I ordered my machine when they first came out.

So, a few fender washers would also do the trick, eh?

I say any material that isn't gonna burn up would work. My first attempt was a few large washers but I couldn't get the thickness right.
