So it may have been me that said not to care about any other games. When I received the OXP X1 I scoped my testing to Cyberpunk 2077 only until I transitioned to Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It’s interesting what you mentioned about the fan blowing in a certain direction. I’m mindful about that with OXP egpu with the placement of my Legion Go (I actually move it slightly closer to me so it’s not hitting the heat as may have been evident in my ultimate fps video). Thank you for including one of my favorite scenes from Tropic Thunder in this. I’m happy the Ally found its way out of the trash too ha. I’m happy you got this video finished and are sharing your thoughts on the Ally egu. Great and informative video as always!

great video brother! I was always hesitant to buy one of the xg mobile gpus. I do think they are a bit on the super pricy side as well. I hope the rog ally 2 will find a less expensive option or either a way to allow us to use occulink or something a bit more common.

Thanks bro! Unfortunately I'm thinking they'll stay with the XG because the infrastructure is there but it's also catch-22; for people that are already invested in XG (either through the eGPU, Ally, or Flow device) we'd be SOL if they then switched to oculink; Of course the simple solution would be to just have both but.... yeah I don't see that happening sadly.

As always, great video! 😊 I don't have a ROG but good to know if I would ever sell my Aokzoe A1. 😂 Even though, I wouldn't be sure to choose the ROG. There are so many handhelds to choose from nowadays.

Those gpus are very hard to obtain for under 1000 euros/dollars. Got one incl tax and shipping for 800 on ebay. About the maximum I would spend on a gpu dock. We dont have usa newegg prices.

Unfortunately you're absolutely right. Price is one of the main drawbacks of this setup besides the proprietary port IMO. But I have to admit it IS convenient... thanks for your comment!

You know what, I didn't get a chance to test this out for the video. When I tried it before using "unofficial" AMD drivers, I felt the FSR3 Frame Gen mod (by LukeFZ) worked better, but maybe I'll try it for the next video. Thanks for watching and your comment!

Thanks for your comment! In terms of that kind of performance, I do think so. Cause it's basically a full powered desktop, even if the price is high.

I purchased a docking station in China for $750. a good powerful dock, but very noisy at 94% load.

I just purchased the 4090 XG mobile man that cable sucks it looks thicker than in the video and super stiff. And the connection to the Ally is stuck at pcie3.0 4x lanes and 8x to the tablet and laptops. Oh and the usbc has no display output also you have to disable sleep or the Ally will randomly reboot randomly.

I wonder if it is thicker? You're right about the cable, it would be so much better if it was even just half a foot longer but I'm going to assume it's a bandwidth over length issue... You're right about the PCIe3x4 as far as I know, which is just as good as Oculink but still I bet your 4090XG is getting bottlenecked. Thanks for your comment, it's a good concept just not perfect unfortunately...
