I bought my ally yesterday. 30 minutes setup and 1 hr for game installation and damn, this little puppy blow my mind. I played RE2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate at 720p and it runs games flawlessly.

See. I got mine to play MMOs, I play WoW with Mods, and I absolutely love it. I can play other games, too, though I have a gaming rig for the higher end titles. This thing plays wow perfectly imo.

Thank you very much for this amazing list! I'm not a ROG Ally owner, instead opting for a Legion Go. Your video had a couple of things that I was wanting to find online sooner or later: 140 watt charger, 100 USB-C Cable (the angle adapter was 60 watt max, so probably not that, even though it interested me), and the dock with two video outputs. With that... erm... and an extremely expensive external GPU, my new handheld might be able to replace my 2017 rig. But first thing's first. These items off this video are affordable short-term.

22:48 - you should probably put the Ally in the bag with the screen facing inwards, the bent cushions are there so the joysticks are protected. Also has a layer of soft material to protect the screen. I have the same one and would also recommend it to anyone who doesn't have one yet.

I found the skull and co grip case to be the best case for the Ally. The case itself is designed as a stand

I haven't had many issues with mine, but I got mine when the updates came and I new about the SD card problem so I upgraded my SSD

Loving my ROG Ally! I have some similar basic ones shown -- folding bluetooth keyboard/mousepad, a hard case for travel (its mobile, so im mobile), a dock, bluetooth controller for docked, etc. Ive been really hesitant to get a rubber sleeve type case. Does this Jsaux case interfere with typical docks and fitting in them? Ive seen that some do... Thanks!

I bought the same case (modcase) and ended up cutting the top rubber lips that go around the shoulder buttons making it so much easier to slip the ally in and out of the case.

I have to say you gave so many accessories and I have to say I am very happy to not see you say anything about xg mobile! Shows the viewers that you know that would not be a good or even a accessory to even consider since it is constantly out of stock, overpriced, and not a great product overall considering all the issues it has. I will use this video for the lenovo go since that to me may be the better option once software improves or if you decide to make another video later on for the lenovo that would be awesome as well!

While I do think it’s overpriced, it’s the same price as a regular 4090 so it’s not entirely on ROG for the price point.

That 90 degree angle usb c dongle is a game changer , as soon as i seen it on youre video i ordered it. Im not a huge fan of the lead fitting in the top. Just does not seem sturdy. Thanks mate.

Looking into this now - on amazon the Jsaux dock is only advertised at 4k@60 hz. Can you validate what you said by it being 120hz?

Do you connect the last dock to the original charger that the rog ally comes with?

I bought the 16.1 arzopa from amazon, but it doesn’t come with the foldable case like yours?

You can use 2280 ssds, just need to mod the adapters a tiny bit

Any recommendations to optimize this neat device?

There's lots you can do but think of it like any other windows device. Maybe I'll make a video on optimizations I've done so far to improve performance on it :)

The major conflict I had when buying my ally and while watching this video is we're buying all this stuff to do what our laptop already does 🤣

What i did with the card slot i went into the control center on armoury and then you go to storage and it should detect whatever card you have have in it

Xg mobile 4090 is a beast!

my problem with the mod case is you cant have thumbstick grips on it. i have the skull cap thumbsticks and the cover wont completely close and you cant see the stick being held downward. i wish the cover gave a little more clearance

Very good and informative video, these gaming handheld devices can improve a lot with accessories. However I deeply want an improved version of the ROG ally with a 1080p 240Hz OLED display, for example the display of the steam deck OLED is league ahead of ROG ally and Lenovo legion Go

240hz is not necessary for the current soc rn. An OLED and more energy efficient cpu along with 32gb ram is a great upgrade if happen

All these accessories look Great! 😉👌😁👍 I picked up some 3D printed grips for mine, I use the Nreal/Xreal Air glasses, and I bought a cooling fans to help keep it cool. My Best upgrade was swapping out the built in 512gb ssd to a 2TB ssd this thing is Awesome!

Anyone have an opinion hard case mod to use the mod case with a external display while charging? Figure it could cause a slight issue with thermals.

ROG Ally XG Mobile 4090 together is Federal! Playing MWIII in 4K 120fps

11:19 is rather have it on top then the bottom of the system it doesn’t bend from the top

honesetly they gave me the side grips for free because of a delay with another item and it's actually more slippery...looks good but feels slippery

The allys ergonomics are fine....

That's a solid one too but I have no experience using it myself

It’s a shame the back plate case couldn’t have more port extensions for other ports like micro sd and usb because the Ally only has one usb c port
