To elaborate further on boogie’s situation. When I reacted to it I saw some really disturbing things in chat. So without any bias, you are an adult when you are 18 and I will treat you as such. Full stop. Just because people think his relationship is creepy doesn't change the law. I also believe that if the situations were reversed and boogie was a woman no one would bat an eye. The fact that he is an unhealthy obese individual automatically makes people extremely judgmental and assume he is doing something he shouldn't be doing. People like to believe she is innocent. Why? Do people forget that 15 and 16 year olds shoot up schools? How about many young men and women using their looks or manipulation to get what they want or take advantage of people? Don't forget those in their 30's or more that have never grown as a person, still living at home, have no income, provide nothing to society and living off their parents. When I was 18, I got kicked out of my house, forced to live on my own, forced to have a job and forced to have expenses like rent, car payment, ect. I was more mature and had my shit together at the age of 18 than some people double my age. You see my point? I'm not defending boogie here. I actually have no respect for a person that makes bad decisions over and over, never learns anything, gives up and is basically waiting to die. You only get one life and people don't know how lucky they are to live and have a life. I'm understanding the situation without any bias. As long as two people are adults and engage in consensual legal activities then its no one else's business what they do. Im not thinking about who people fuck or what people are doing as long as its legal and consensual. Its none of my business. His relationship has really brought to light how judgmental and biased some people are. The amount of dumbass opinions ive heard on this situation is insane. Way too many people are trying to police how others live their life and shove their biased judgmental ideas down people's throats. His relationship has made people forget that he is a terrible person that gives up and takes advantage of his viewers. He makes light of racial discrimination, cancer jokes and pretty much any type of dark humor. I'm not about that shit. Anyone that has been discriminated against or dealt with cancer would know how serious that shit is. That to me is unforgivable. That makes you a shit person. I won't dogpile on someone or make up shit just because they are awful because I believe the truth is the most important thing. My mentality comes from my experiences through life and I've met some extremely shitty humans similar to my age when I was 18. I have also met some very responsible amazing young people who have their shit together more than people twice their age. My point is, to make a blanket statement that every young adult is innocent or not mature enough to make decisions is just wrong. Some people grow up faster than others and some people never grow up. How can anyone make a non biased judgment call about a person's life without knowing the full truth and experiences that person has had?

Honestly, seeing this today has been a humbling reminder for me to take better care of myself too. I can identify with some of Boogie's health issues, and I'm fucking shook at how he resigned he is to not giving a shit anymore. I went back to the gym today after over a week of not going because of how this documentary made me feel afterwards. We the audience have no control over if he chooses to help himself and un-fuck his life, but we can at least take his story as another deadly warning for ourselves to be better.

The part where he buys Diablo 4, Zelda and FF16 is where I lost it. I didn't buy these games because I didn't have the money for it. I didn't buy these games because I care about keeping my house, because I care about eating enough, because I care about giving birthday gifts to my relatives. This man gets about as much money as I do each month and still goes out doing irresponsible and dumb short-term, mid-term and long-term moves. It's infuriating.

He treats it himself using psychedelics, and repeatedly had to sit down to take breaks during filming due to his intense stomach pain. The documenter spoke about it on Some Ordinary Podcast, he didn't know about this until they were already filming. He was some random guy on facebook that kept messaging Boogie to "help" him.

I have saved so much money playing FFXIV. I pay my subscription, sit my ass down, and have no excuses to blow money. This wasnt the reason i play, and in financially stable regardless, but people underestimate settling with fewer hobbies and being satisfied with not buying more shit needlessly. Then if you really want something occasionally, you can buy it. I just saved up enough to buy my first motorcycle in cash, with plenty of money leftover. Find fewer things you can spend more time with. Alcohol? You drink a bottle once and it's gone (I don't drink anyways). FFXIV? I can scream at people in dungeons and uwu at cute Au'Ras as much as i want within every monthly sub.

His personality is just disgustingly narcissistic and entitled as he believes he is 'owed' 10/10 models but can't bother to work on himself. As a teenager I used to watch Boogie, i used to think he was a positive force in the world - he had my respect. But seeing how he talks about people, and his own life is a hard bitter pill to swallow. I struggled with my health my whole life, I used to admire that despite his health issues he made something of himself, i haven't watched him in about a decade but man - to see him go down this path, and his fucked up view on the world and not be able to see where it went wrong. Just goes to show - you don't know the person behind the camera. And to know that this person has all the potential in the world and the power to change his circumstances- and he just threw it away is so depressing and sad but a word of caution to anyone else not to follow that same path. I used to see him and think "wow i can be successful despite my shitty health" now im like "Okay here's not what to do, don't squander your life and the opportunities people give you." I'm disabled, I haven't been able to work in a decade, but the way the world is if i didn't get a job - I was out on my ass without a home. So i got a fucking job, its hard, I struggle but you gotta fucking help yourself, Boogie is a cautionary tale on you gotta fucking help yourself people are not going to just hand you shit you have to fight for your life if you want to keep it.

Man. I loved Boogie. Watched every single thing he made. It took me a while to see the pattern but the guy was the epitome of the meme where thr guy sticks a stick in the spokes of his bike and then blames something else. My guy lived to be a victim of circumstance and, very unheathily, continued to put himself into circumstances that would cause people to feel bad for him. I got off the train when he started gaining weight again after his gastric bypass surgery and sat there and complained about how hard it was to keep up with the weight loss regimen.

This makes me so sad. I met boogie outside of his signed event at a con in 2018/2019. My ex was a major fan. He stood and talked to us for about 30 minutes with his gf at the time. He seemed so positive. He had told us that this was the first year at that convention he could actually walk around without the assistance of an electric scooter and seemed super upbeat. Told us the previous year was all looking up and he was so happy on his journey to being healthy. There was zero negativity or pity party. The guy genuinely seemed to think he had a bright future ahead. He was very courteous, personable, and kind. The entire rest of the convention he would make eye contact with us as we passed and wave hello with a smile. Makes me sad to see this documentary.

That's exactly what people loved about him before and made him famous. He was simple, honest, and most of all kind. Later he developed a real mean streak and started demanding instead of thanking and that's when his downfall started. It doesn't help he made some very poor investment choices but even so, if he hadn't completely flipped the script I bet he would still be a very relevant youtuber today. Maybe not huge, but relevant in more than just a lesson to be learned.

The problem with the age gap in this case is that she had a troubled childhood and no dad. Boogie had a troubled childhood as well. Except from what we know, boogie grew up to be a narcissist and manipulator we don't know enough about the girl yet. Boogie is using the US vs them mentality with her. Everyone judges us, we only have each other we are ride or die, u can only ever count on me and no one else. Which is text book manipulation. It's even worse because she's almost 30 years younger than him. He also dumps all his health problems on her sating he is on deaths door. So she has 2 options. She bolts, people pity him which he lives for and maybe people harass her for leaving him. Or she stays with him because what kind of monster leaves their partner when their partner is so sick. Either way he wins. Even that stand up show, he probably set it up that they got called out. Why would the stand up comedian ask boogie if he's a youtuber? What a random thing to ask. Have you ever seen a comedian ask that of an audience member out of the blue? And the fact that he brought her in to be shamed for his humiliation kink? Not cool. The problem is that he's a master manipulator and it makes things worse that he's manipulation some one who Is 30 years younger than him. IT would be different if he was trying to change, if not for him, then for her. He's talking like he already died. He's telling her how sick he is and how he is about to die and he's still not trying to change for the better. He knows the problem, he knows hes fucking up her life and he just doesnt care.

@@XenosysVex you might just be right about him not helping himself Xeems, but no one is ever well and truly lost after watching this whole thing what i see is that he needs better influences in his life to help encourage him to take a better path he may have let himself go but its never too late to change nor is it too late to forgive someone or oneself. there are points in this video where you said you get it about the harsh conditions that can effect people's mentalities and their lives but do you actually get the person? do we ever really understand those around us ? or do we just pretend not to notice when things go bad for us in our life. sometimes people take ALOT for granted an they dont ever think to themselves that maybe they should check in more often with those that are nearest and dearest to themself because by simply just performing that one simple act of kindness, generosity, or mercy you might have just saved someone's life or made their day so much more significant or meaningful. not gunna defend Boogie for his actions but everyone deserves a chance even if we dont think they ever will see their errors in this lifetime its more important to leave a positive impression than to simply say "its a lost cause" because then one day someone might take that too heart and then do something even more stupid then what we've seen here in this documentary.

I have to admit, I'm kind of surprised that Xeno was so reserved when watching this, and I don't mean anything negative by saying that. That said, I really hate Boogie and it's actually for a really weird reason. This isn't a good thing, but I actually see quite a bit of myself in Boogie - only maybe I'm at the 5-10% mark while he's easily obtained the other 90-95 percent. The difference is (beyond not having internet fame and once having a lot of money) while I have problems, I don't think I'm above working a mundane 9 to 5 and I don't freaking pester people with my issues constantly. It's somewhat of a freaking eerie thing to watch someone you could be if I didn't care as much as I do. I'm not saying everything with me is peachy but Christ, I'm doing freaking fantastic in comparison.

I agree that if it’s legal and consensual then it’s nobody’s business. But it’s pretty clear Boogie and Des’s relationship isn’t healthy. She has daddy issues, is young and naive, and is desperate to not be lonely. He’s abusing his position of power and using his health to guilt trip her into staying with him. You are right that we don’t know her and she could be doing some shady shit too. The thing is, what would she gain from trying to take advantage of him? Nothing. He has every reason to take advantage of her though. “What if she has a fat guy kink?” I don’t think she’d have much trouble finding a fat guy that’s in a better mental/financial/life situation than Boogie. It’s not like he has the market cornered on being a fat guy. Edit: Also, if they didn’t want to get singled out at the comedy club, why tf did they sit up front? So morality isn’t necessarily dictated by what is legal. This girl is over 20 years his junior, and is clearly emotionally damaged, which she confirms when she talks about her abusive background. Boogie knows exactly what he’s doing and he’s roped this girl into a relationship because she doesn’t know any better. The whole “it’s legal so there” argument is a lazy cop out. This young woman is at risk of losing her 20s because she’s attached to this man who will not provide her with the environment she needs. Do you honestly think boogie is a healthy person for someone with emotional trauma to spend their life with? Absolutely not. And boogie is well aware of this.

You can tell by his body language in 31:06 that he is uncomfortable because of what he just blurted out. He is also not funny. This is not about discrimination or free speech or anything like that, boogie is trying to retcon the stupid unfunny things he got clipped for over the years because he is terrible at improvising. Sure I'd lump that in with technological progression attributed to the two great wars in general as opposed to the holocaust itself though. We wouldn't have space travel, rocket science or satellite technology either or it would've taken us a lot longer to figure it out if Hitler and his scientists weren't out of their minds and doing all kinda crazy drugs and experiments in the name of winning that war. That being said I'd probably prefer living in a weird ass Amish world where millions of people didn't have to die in various ways for us to create crazier and crazier technology to kill each other quicker that only after all that shit becomes civilian peace time tech like computers and modern aircraft. Personally I couldn't say with a good conscience that any "good" came out of nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki other than maybe the war ending afterwards, and in the same sense I don't think anything "good" came out of experimenting on people non-consensually when we could've reached the same scientific conclusions in a more humane manner. For example testing on animals (okay for the time), death row inmates or the worst of the worst of society who agree to be experimented on rather than imprisoned. I get what you and Boogie are saying but I think we still need to be careful and respectful with our wording when it comes to genocide and that amount of death no matter how much silver lining we may see in hindsight.

@DaWoWzer I'm sorry, what? How is this casual endorsement of paədophilia getting upvotes? What alternate reality are you living in where a 16 year old is at the same stage of mental development as a 20-25 year old? Yes, it's true we continue to develop into our mid-20s, and I can say with confidence that who I was at 20 is far from who I am now at 26, but who I was at 16 was entire light-years from who I was at 20, and absolutely nobody was making excuses for the dumb decisions I or anyone around me made at that age. Those mistakes are how you learn to be a responsible adult. Clearly she has issues and complexes, but what young adult doesn't? For better or worse she's still responsible for her own decisions and that includes who she chooses to get involved with. To clarify, I do pity her. I don't mean to project my own problems but I've been here before but as soon as someone better walks by boogie, he's going to leave her. She deserves so much better and she deserves to have someone that's going to love her and take care of her and not someone who is going to drain her and leave her with nothing. Even if shes happy with him boogie isn't willing to turn his life around to be with her. Boogie not caring for himself and then later dies by his poor life choices is going to add on to her problems like her dad leaving her. He doesn't realize that this relationship is selfish. Also lets not normalize an age gap this big. it is disgusting. she is 20 and the brain doesn't fully develop until 25 so these choices shes having to make are huge and this is something that you need time to learn and understand, not jumping into it. Boogie is wayyy older than her and knows better but ofc he just going to do what he wants because its boogies world huh? Boogie cant even take care of himself and makes the worst choices why the hell does he think he can take care of someone. Its gross that he's going to drag this poor girl into poverty all because he doesn't wanna work a normal job, its gross af. sorry for the rant but I hate him after watching the doc. also the way he talks about women as objects is disgusting. i have no sympathy for him and he deserves all the hate he gets. he had the chance to be a better person and refuses to.
