    Honestly I played the game on launch and I didnt have many issues with bugs. I had one gamebreaking bug where an NPC you had to kill to advance the story quest was glitched out in an elevator and I had to reload a save and that's it. Some minor graphical glitches maybe but nothing else stand out that i can remember. My issue was with the game itself. I expected more of a rags to riches story from the first trailers which I think they scrapped once they got Keanu on board and the whole story just felt off to me. It was just pretty generic and your choices had literally no impact on the story except unlocking one hidden ending through some dialogue options. My biggest gripe was with the body modifications tho. They made it seem like you could do some crazy cyborg shit and really customize your augments and in reality it was just some additional equipment slots with like 3-4 choices per slot... most of them didnt even change how your character looks

    This for me too. Yeah the game was less buggy on PC than on consoles but it still didn't matter. The game overall was just a letdown. I would call it generic. Which is definitely not what they described early on.

    My gaming PC has a 9900k with a 2080ti and I experienced no crashes at launch. I actually only encountered 1 glitch where I couldn't enter a building where one quest was located. In Xeno's video, the worst thing I noticed was the draw distance must have been set low. I played on 1080p with most settings maxed. I had to turn off RTX effects though. The neon lights look SO GOOD with RTX on, but my fps would plummet. As far as story, I wasn't a fan of any of the endings and the dialogue choices made me feel like the only option was edgelord. Unlike something like Mass Effect's dialogue choices where I could respond like a sarcastic arsehole, unaffected, or good doer type.

    Alright that's cool and all. But you not seeing very many game breaking bugs does not mean that it's not an issue for a LOT of other players. Like I get that you aren't trying to say that but just saying stuff like this doesn't change the fact that this game was an absolute mess and should absolutely not have been released in this state whatsoever.

    Thats my gripe with Cyberpunk. I didnt have nearly as many bugs at all on PC but the world felt very empty to me. You couldn't interact with the majority of the city. Just one example, they have an entire arcade in the world and you cant interact with any of it. Yakuza you can though. Much smaller city but felt genuinely lively. Feel bad for the console people though.

  • @malcovich_games

    I don't really feel bad for Keanu, he did his job, his character in the game was pretty good, and he had good chemistry with the audience too. The game's reputation didn't really destroy his. Keanu's gonna be fine! It's not like Vin Diesel and the actress whose name I forget, advertising that Fast and the Furious game, that was so bad. And (unfortunately?) that FnF game being bad didn't wreck their reputations either.

    Yeah, I don't really get people who feel bad for him, or even partially blame him for what happened. He's literally just an actor, he got hired to play a role and promote the game, he did exactly that. It's not his fault, nor is it his problem that the things that were promised are not there. He did his part well, Johnny's character is definitely a highlight of the game.

    The problem with the games industry is quite simple, actually: games are too expensive to produce. In the past, the producers would make the game (or at least be like 80% of the way towards a complete game), then drop the trailers, then release with a complete game. Now, because of the upfront cost of producing a AAA, the corporations investing on the studios want proof that yhe game will sell _before_ investing large sums of money into it. So either you produce a game traditionally without any funding, or you promise your whole game to the audience before you know if you can even make it on the first place.

    @@Deltaworks23 that's because marketing _works_ . It is probably the biggest factor in the number of initial sales. The quality of the game is then responsible for keeping those costumers. That's the whole reason why games have cinematic CGI trailers instead of only in-game footage. Promises first, features later. And that's also why I think elden rings marketing was so good. They made a giant, larger than life trailer with basically in-game footage, then delivered that exact experience ten-fold in game

    I ran into a frequent bug where the foliage spawned in the foreground, with its size adjusted to how far away it was. So you'd be in a car, having a serious conversation with someone, and you'd watch a tiny bush float across their forehead. Also, frequently when driving a vehicle, if you went into 3rd person view you'd see your character T pose standing on top of the vehicle without pants. Didn't matter if you had pants equipped, you'd see your character pantsless with fully modeled genitals.

    I pre-ordered this. It had some of the most epic bugs. I recorded one of my motorbike doing corkscrews. You had car statues (multiple cars piled up into a mountain), people sitting down with no chairs. T-poses on the back of motorbikes. All sorts of crazy shit. It was so immersion breaking it was untrue. This game was so extremely rushed. I get the sense they dropped what they were doing at some point just before signing up Keanu, and went a totally different way with the story. There are some really intricate areas of the map but they have no function (pulled content). Super disappointing. I have about 200 hours on the game. The most disappointing thing to me was that some of the fun elements were patched out. I.e. the respawning enemies. It was fun to loot farm a bit. I haven't been back in months, I briefly tried the last patch but, oh dear.

    On the witcher topic, the thing is, day 1 witcher 3 does have quite a few bugs itself. Missing quest npcs, combat (hit reg and animation specifically) can be inconsistent and potions sometimes dont work. And before that, witcher 2 had bugs so bad, at one point, there was one bug that made it impossible to clear the game. You had to lower the game diff to get infinite stamina to bypass the bug and the devs themselves are not even the ones that fix it after iirc ( it was a modder and CDPR just put a note for everyone encountering the bug to fix it via the mod ). So I went into cyberpunk with the same amount of bug expectations. Thankfully, i was on pc and the pc version is pretty safe. Console players got absolutely cheated though. Also a lot of inexcusable things CDPR did, like removed content/mechanics that were promised or shown in trailer. Unfortunately though, even as of now, there are still issues that needs fixing and features to be added back in. But if you are on pc, it is worth playing through once. The only consolation out of it is CDPR at least has some integrity left to refund, unlike the bs bethesda pulled with FO76, so I look forward to them eventually fixing and putting things intended back in

    coming from an African country where all these games either came out really late after global release or were too expensive for anybody to buy, I finally experience the hype of the huge AAA release for my first time with this game. It was really fun and It was the first game i ever preordered. I watched Shroud playing early and was waiting for my PS4 countdown even checking online which hour it would come out in the country I am now. It was an experience of bugs. I have never seen a game this buggy. Even the gameplay 1st person shooter wasn't fun at all. I did play many 1st person shooter but the gun fights were the thing i was never looking forward to unless it was a big story boss. The music, the story and the characters were all top tier for me but the gameplay and bugs were so bad they evened it out with how good the others were. I did play 3 times will the 3 storylines and I enjoyed it but really wished it came out finished.

    "Crunchy" is an actual pen and paper RPG term, which would be appropriate for Cyberpunk 2077. Crunch = Mechanics and Systems Fluff = Lore, Characters and Story A "Crunchy" RPG is one that is extremely dense with mechanics and interacting systems. Baldur's Gate 3 is a good example of this. It's very mechanically dense with lots of interactions and statistics to keep track of. A "Fluffy" game would be like, and I hate to say this, Warhammer 40k. It's mechanically simple, but it has a lot of great supporting story and lore to make it appealing.

    This all could have been solved if the marketing team and company heads set realistic deadlines instead of an insane deadline that no company, ever, would be able to meet for a game of such scale. But this is what happens when actual game dev's are pass over for leadership, and the marketing team get all the leadership promotions. This game was released 3 years too early. Building an engine from scratch alone would have taken them 5 or more years, and they had 8, and still didn't have a proper engine. It would have been better if they stuck to the original plan of using the Witcher 3 engine and making it a third person game. Too bad the heads fucked everyone over and forced them to make a new engine by making it third person.

It fell way short of the incredible hype CDPR had built up for it, but at the end of the day I found it to be an adequate Deus Ex-esque looter shooter (at least on PC, I can't speak to the console experience which I hear was a lot worse). It's by no means one of the greats in its genre like W3 was, but it managed to be entertaining enough that I didn't feel like I wasted my money.

    When the car blows up after the NPc gets in hahahahaahahaha To add. I played on launch with a PS4 pro and other than blue screen crashes I played a melee all the way through, melee was too broken to use though. Ran another character with pistols to 35 and just got bored. It was very meh, but I didn’t experience all the funny bugs.

    I had this and put probably 30 hours in on xbox, was a few weeks after release so i didn't see all this, but it was a bit glitchy with slow rendering. I do want to play the full game but my xbox died later on and i switched to pc.. surely the game and xbox dying weren't related? lmao. Nah, but i do want to finish the game because i had a good time with it, just don't want to buy it again for the computer..

    Maybe I've been lucky, but the only bug I ever encountered was my car suddenly glitched into a building and then I was parked on top of a random scaffolding. I got out of my car and fell out of the world. Edit: Oh, PC is fine. I guess that's why.... EditEdit: The teleporting Cops are annoying, but I'm one of those boring players that doesn't make a habit of trying to accumulate stars or wanted levels. I can understand how that would bug some players, but that's not something that bugs me

    The biggest issue that I have with Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t even all the performance issues and bugs but the flat out lying about what the game is and isn’t by it’s marketing as well as not showing off the ACTUAL game on console before release. So just know that just like with movies if you don’t see reviews group about a week before release then that’s a HUGE red flag and you should probably not be preordering this game.

    even now on pc if you finish a mission faster then the ai keeps up characters will get stuck............ this type of basic shit like checking if a character is stuck was not done....... if(distance to player > 100) timer++ if(timer == 2 minutes) teleport character to player. that is litterly all the code they would have needed so its not excusable.

    To be perfectly honest, all signs of CDPR not being as hot as players hype them were around since ther introduction of witcher 1 (Remember the patches trimming save file sizes like 75% and load times by good 80%? It definitely would help quite a bit during the development, you know. Beta testers and all that?). Then we had witcher 2 which was a beautiful game… except everyone's eyes looked dead and whole picture gave strong 2004ish feel to model decisions, causing everyone and everything to look like microwaved versions of themselves. And then game wasn't fun between Geralt moving as if he wore concrete shoes, unresponsive swordplay, unrefined thrown weapon mechanics (Which barely changed in W3 by the way, with both bombs and crossbow play being shit on the stick), strange pallete decisions forcing you to use amulet all the time to simply see your loot. Except it's got cooldown for no reason. And stops you dead in the tracks, killing the flow. Even when you see the loot and needed objects, you are tortured. Want to loot that sack? I'm sorry, but there is a torch in the area and thus you put out fire instead. Oh, you are trying to do it again? Guess I'll just have to ignite it! And god forbid if you find a sack next to both torch AND the ladder, preferably the very long one and with enemy seeing you as you climb, locking out the ability to interact with many objects.

    im the same as well, i dont like 1st person shooter games, it good fov when shooting but for everything else that is not shooting is bad....you have limited vision, its nauseating etc. This is also why one of my fav games is the Metal Gear solid series because the default is 3rd person and you can choose from 1st/3rd when shooting, fortnite is also an example of a 3rd person shooter game. It doesnt always have to be 1st person when it comes to shooter games to make it good, that's like outdated design imo.

    From what I understand, high-end PC's didn't have as many bugs as lower-end ones or consoles, though it was still a very unacceptable amount of bugs. I didn't preorder thankfully and waited a year or so before getting it, was never super interested in it, never got hyped up. I can say what I've experienced in my time with the game has been very good. Story is good, voice acting is stellar, all the interactions with Johnny (Keanau) are awesome, world is beautiful, game ran pretty well for me despite the extreme detail of the world. Oh, and gunplay is good to me. Unfortunantly the launch of the game is forever going to be a stain on their record, and all they can do now is continue to fix and improve the game as their apology to all the people they let down. Overall I would recommend it now if you have a fairly beefy or better computer and have an interest in the game/world/story.

    Nah they didn't have as many issues but they're were still plenty of things to make the game unplayable. I will NEVER recommend this game to anyone. I want my $60 back honestly for the game being so bad. One playthrough is all i did and will ever do. I mean what was actually good about it? Story sucked, guns were boring, the so called "open world" was VERY LINEAR, millions of bugs and glitches, boring combat, driving is awful, npcs are beyond dumb, CDPR ruined themselves with this game but oh well.

  • @SpectreNight

    @SpectreNight

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@tmacfan2132 Yeah, I'm not recommending it in it's launch state, I'm recommending it as it is now after several updates. Story being pretty linear doesn't make it bad, it just goes against what their promotional stuff and interviews lead people to believe. However for me, as someone who never caught on with any Cyberpunk 2077 Hype and not knowing what they exactly 'promised' at the time, the story was good. Sorry you never got a refund, though I hope you requested it before beating the game as expecting a refund after 'fully' consuming a product is pretty unlikely with games.

    After so many months have pass. I kinda think why it so shitty at launch. Maybe they overestimate the performance of console. Maybe lack of direction from above? There is evidence in how the game work. The way AI walk paths not fit the map. Show that before version we received at launch they fix mal layout but they didn't change both human and car ai path.

  • @GOffensive

    The comparisons to older games are what really shows where this game is lacking. There is not even an ounce of attention to detail. Games which came out on consoles older than the ones Cyberpunk did look better, play better and are technically lightyears ahead of whatever CDPR shat out.

  • @advmx3
    @advmx32 жыл бұрын

    I do get mad when developers just jump to the next gen, abandoning the previous one even before it's fully dead, just because it's less work to make one version. It's like Square with FF7, they prefer to release DLC for the next gen only because they don't want to make a version with the toned down textures for PS4, which is a very good looking game. Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn are just the proof that a game can be not only good and open world in the previous generation, but it will put a lot of mid-range PC's in the floor because they were very well done for the platforms. If you want to make a game for two generations, you need to ensure the quality for both of them. In this game specifically they only ensured a little quality on high end PC's, and that's that. The shit was so bad that Sony removed the game from PS Store.

    you you must understand that most of the hype of 2077 is because its from CD Projekt red, the one that gave us arguably one of the best RPG of all time, you cant fault people for expecting a lot in these game. thats why the aftermath of the shit release is that strong, people are really disappointed, its not like Bethesda who is known to have shit release main reason why the backlash with FO76 isnt as severe as Cyberpunk.
