Hi. Thanks for this video. It definitely helped me decide to buy the Zen. Compared to your part 1 initial review I see that here you have added a D-ring to the front of the scrotch strap. Is that the D-ring that originally came on the left hip on the waist band, where you have now got a D-ring on the weight pocket? I just got my Zen Deluxe this week and was considering moving that D-ring to the front of the crotch strap, just like you seem to have done. Other than that, can't wait to try it when I go to Egypt two weeks from now. :)

Hey, nice review! I'm now an owner of the Zen Deluxe but with stainless steel cam bands and and added rubber slip grip. Zen is an awesome wing. Superbly built and balanced, very sturdy, very comfortable and easy to don/doff. But one thing I don't understand is why they designed this wing with soft droppable weight pouches instead of rigid ones? But besides that I'm a very happy customer.

Hey Pelle, and thank you for your input. This wing is a beast! And I agree, the soft weight pockets can be a bit more of a hassle when cold water diving when you need more lead in the pouches.

Thank you for an in-depth and honest review. I’m looking at purchasing an XDeep wing very soon. I travel for diving so something lighter would be ideal. Slightly concerned about the weigh pockets. Im a bigger guy so dive with anything between 8/12kg Meeting with XDeep at the up and coming diving show in the UK next month, so I’m certain I can sort something out.

Hey there, nice review! I'm planning on getting this wing, i am just not sure which options to go for (Deluxe/standard, aluminium/steel backplate). I wanna go mainly coldwater diving in Germany, using wetsuit in the summer and drysuit in the winter. With a standard renthal jacket wetsuit and 10l steel tank i need about 2 to 3kg of weight. Do you have any idea on how much negative buoyancy the aluminium and steel backplate provide? I want to avoid being overweight already with a wetsuit, but i also don't want to add 15kg when i take a drysuit. Also for the future I maybe want to get some double 12l tanks, so the steel backplate would be better for that. Also, how long does it take to adjust the strap length of the standard edition? Not sure on wether or not it's worth to get the deluxe edition, also as it's not quite dir, so if i want to get into tec some day this may become a problem. I really just wanna buy right the first time. Can you give me some info?

Hey man, and thank you for your message. Many questions there, let me see if I am able to answer all of them. Firstly in fresh water and in a 7mm Semi-Dry I dive with 1kg on this Wing. The steel back plate I cannot comment. I have the ALU because I take this wing with me on travelling as well. I personally always recommend the Alu back plate and Deluxe version for most of the recreational divers. Twins, Tek etc. is a completely different story and I cannot comment on that. Thank you and have a great day!

The Zen doesn’t have the QR plastic buckles below the shoulder D rings. Unless they have changed that from last year when I bought my Zen. Also, mine doesn’t have shoulder strap pads. Hmmmmm. I never had the same issue with my weight pockets like you described, at all.

Hi Wally and thanks for the comment. As mentioned already by vnoock, the Deluxe model has both, the padding and the quick release buckles, providing more flexibility and speed for adjusting the wing. You can find the different versions on Xdeep's website. As what comes to the weight pocket, I haven't had any more issues with the pocket slipping out as I made the weight pocket strap a little bit tighter. Have a great day!

vnoockthebrain 6:15 you put the tank strap wrong- I did it first too (not so obvious at the first time). If it is done right, the 12L tank sits tight and velcro is all the way on the right place. Follow the arrows with numbers on the buckle. If I could add pictures here, I would show it.

@@khencris3102 it depends of how you are diving, how far you are from the diving spots and how you get there. Ghost is lighter, Zeos is more classic... There are so many points to be considered. Read the descriptions on the xdeep web site. For me, I am totally happy with Zen deluxe. I have additional bands for basic "no fail" configuration. It is a bit heavier and you have to think about the weight of every peace of equipment when you fly to diving spot. I did my calculations like this: soaked all the gear in water and put it on the weigher after 48 hours (after dive "no fly" time). So I knew the real weight after diving. I dive in warm waters, so I take 5mm neopren maximum, mostly 3mm. Do some math and you will know what you need.

Hello vnoockthebrain and thank you for commenting. Now having checked this issue over and over, I have to say that the strap is buckled correctly. So far I have tested my wing with the following tanks: 12L ALU (as seen on this video), 12L short steel (tank is shorter and wider, the strap sits ok with this tank) and a 10L steel (strap is way too long with this tank as the tank is narrower, but with one 2lbs trim wight on the strap it is much better). I am considering on getting the grip-lock strap for future. The strap length on my wing is is 97cm not including the buckle. Could it be possible that your straps are of different length?

@@khencris3102 I have tested the Zeos Standard and my Zen Deluxe. The crotch strap on the Zen is more comfortable. Underwater both perform excellent. I have no experience on the Ghost, but I believe it is very similar to the Zen, just with a more lighter construction. I am sure you would be more than happy with any of the mentioned BCD's.

Hey Michal and a big thank you for your comment. I am very happy with this wing. Also something I have noticed after more use is that with this wing I need less weight then I did with my old bcd which was a Mares Hybrid Pro Tec. Something I would recommend for cold water diving, is to get the biggest weight pockets as my M-size pockets can be sometimes little bit tricky when having 6lbs in each pouch.
