Xanadu - The Big Finale (Part 1)
Фильм және анимация
Submitted for your approval...the infamous, not-so-grand finale scene from the legendary 1980 bad movie monstosity known as "Xanadu" - a movie which, unbelievably, was an early effort from noted liberal political documentary filmmaker Robert Greenwald. I wouldn't even know where to begin by way of introduction or critique here, so why don't we just let the segment speak for itself, shall we? Bob, if you have that clip ready can you roll film, please...

ELO's instrumental here was E.P.I.C. Still gives me goosebumps
It was totally criminal of them not to release a studio version of this version of the song. ONJ looks hot.

Xana-poo lol a golden turkey that has stood the test of time...a silly concoction of a plot but with colorful and entertaining musical numbers. Gene Kelly is national treasure and Olivia looks stunning and sounds great! There are so many more classic "worst movies" that have no entertainment value whatsoever
Say what you want about this film, but Gene Kelly was cool as hell and Olivia Newton John was/is a stunner.

Saw this in 1980 in Iowa when I was 8. Bought the album, bought the 45s. It made me move to CA. Saw it again last year in Venice. Wanted to laugh at it...but realized it was a fantastic, underrated film about going for your dreams. I finally understood what Gene Kelly saw in it. :) All musicals have dumb story lines, and this one has better music than the others :)

One of my favorite movies of all time! The finale made the whole movie!
And, the choreography for the finale...can you imagine?
I was 8 when this came out and at the time lived in Southern Cali (live in Pa now). I absolutely loved it then and still love it now. I remember wanting so bad to be a part of it! LOL The music is what’s timeless in this. ELO& Olivia such a great combo. You also get to see the old Pan Pacific Auditorium which is now long gone.
When you reach that point in the film and you know it’s coming and you’re just overcome with emotion. 🥲
Gene Kelly was incredible. Gotta love him.

Truly a beautiful film.
...Hey, what's the 80's without big hair and such dashin' fashion! Leg warmers, fat pants and skinny ties! Wow, if there was half the style these days...forget that - there is no style these days! Love the video ~ thanks!!! It takes me back to my happiest days ever!
here an 80's junkie born on '91 what a great movie, ELO + ONJ a perfect joint
I am not kidding one iota. I would watch this 50 times in a row instead of Citizen Kane or Gone With the Wind. No joke whatsoever.

what was so beautiful about all of this was here was a movie with no killing, no Horror, no Raunchy Sex seens and you could take your hole family to see it and the music was Awesome and Olivia in one word for her is WOW 😍 😍
R I P Olivia, you will be missed by so many.
Gene Kelly was the only man in history to dance with Jerry the mouse. The soundtrack to this film is outrageously good. ELO, John Farrar, The Tubes. And that beast from outer space..our Olivia.
I guess you had to be there. They tried to fuse the Venice Beach roller skating culture with Saturday Night Fever and recreate the magic of all those old MGM Musicals. Maybe they failed, but they made a hell of an effort. OTOH, what's not to like in a movie that has Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, The Tubes & ELO?

No kidding, right? Sure, if you look at this movie through the lens of today, this movie is a cheesy tragedy. But, if you look at it from the other side, with what they were trying to do when disco was still a big deal along with roller rinks...this film is awesome. And this coming from a guy that hates musicals.

Olivia is indeed an amazing singer, I saw her show last night, she still sang all her hit songs as if it’s 30 yrs ago , you will always be my favorite singer . I hope she makes a cd compilation of her hit songs and include it in her repertoire the songs like (angel eyes, change of heart, shaking you, love is a gift to name a few.

If movie makers in 1980 had realized this was a tween movie, This 6:25 would have been our "Let It Go". But the whole finale isn't even on the soundtrack I know. I gave the raided letter fold out album I got from my sister for Christmas that year. I knew what it was Christmas Eve bcz I felt the letters.
That girls gotta be so dizzy omg!
I do not get it. People used to be so happy and so thin and healthy looking. What happened? It seems everywhere I look, including movies, everybody is so fat, ugly, miserable.
I love this movie. Totally ahead of its time. And it has the best and the worst of acting in one movie with ELO and Olivia?
Awesome 80's. That is all.
watch the movie for Olivia, the soundtrack is outstanding
The acting and story line is crap but the music is great :-) I was 10 when my brother took me to see this and I was confused back then lol. But the music and theatrics make up for it. It still makes me smile.

I love the song from the movie, I love Gene Kelly, and of course Olivia Newton John, but for some reason I did not understand the story line too much. I love Olivia Newton John in Grease ,but maybe I just did not give it a chance. I would have to see it again. I never had the chance to see it in the Movies like Grease.
