The E-170 is the same as the E-175, the only difference is the actual length of the aircraft (5 feet), weight (1800kgs), and range (50nm). Everything else is the exact same.

290/.78 is often used in our airline for descents, no problems. Once you descend through the mach transition, the aircraft by FMS direction will hold (more or less) 290 IAS. I have even seen descents requested by ATC of 310/.79, especially if the weather is good and their are many aircraft to sequence in, and you are "leading the pack".

Absolutely. However, what I have found with this model is it will very easily overspeed on descent. I am not sure how accurate it is as I have never flown one in real life. Now only that, it will overspeed during cruise if you are not careful.

I do not. Only difference, in simple terms, with a LOC is you use the MDA instead of the DA and you don't get a vertical guidance.

I really appreciate your reply. I just subscribed. I have 3 more question please.(1) How can I switch from com 1 to com 2 radio? I will like to be able to listen to ATIS on com 2 while talking to ATC in com 1. (2) Also, I am unable to solve the no SIDs and STARs in the MCDU even after reading the quick start reference guide, (3) When I decided to fly without SIDs and STARs, the LNAV ( NAV ) wouldn't guide the plane laterally. I have looked online as well but could not find the answer . Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for the video. It´s the first video that I see than the pilot know how to use the plane. Many videos not have any idea for fly the plane and the procedures. I´m triying to learn to fly this plane in XPlane 11 and it´s very usefull. I fly others than Airbus, B377-800, turboprops but this is diferent specialy the FMS. Good video.

Check the documentation that comes with it. It has Information on that. Know a lot of that is dependent on weight and balance, wind, weather, etc.

Thanks for posting this. This plane doesn't get much love. I just bought a few days ago, and I'm getting used. Not as easy and forgiving as the 737 or A320, and SSG documentation SUCKS. So many things not covered.

My FMS does not have the nav data loaded on the NAV page. The upper most field is blank. Any idea how to fix this?

You actually ENGAGED steering when you manipulated the tiller just before the pushback (at 25:51). The memo on EICAS disappeared to let you know that the steering is now engaged. Which wouldn't be possible unless rampers for some reason fail to disengage the steering on a special panel below the captain's window. Also HYD SYS 2 must be pressurized for steering to be on. The STEER OFF is a memo (and not a command) that must remain visible throughout the push and until you get the hand signals. Then you check your flight controls (it makes awful noises if you attempt to check the rudder with the steering engaged as the wheel is turning, trust me). And only then you PRESS the tiller forward, not pull (the tiller is actually shown backwards in the sim for some reason -- the handle should be forward, not aft of the rotating point). If you accidentally engaged the steering when you shouldn't have, you can disengage it again by pressing a rocker switch button on the backside of the yoke. Not sure if you can see it in the sim, you can google it.

How about the anti ice? Is it automatical?

Followed every step but the A/T won’t go higher then 225 on climb. I even tried doing it manually and it says I’m over speeding. Plz help

First of all, amazing video, very helpful! However, I am having an issue with Better Pushback telling me my flight controls are preventing me from pushing back, and to disconnect a toggle nosewheel steering key bind. I don't have anything bound to this, and I disconnected the steering by pulling up on the tiller. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hmm...ive had this issue before but I fixed it by disconnecting the tiller. Do it a few times.

Has anyone flown these recently after the last update? I've followed everything on here perfectly and it will not follow LNAV on AP and it climbs like crazy and then descends. Just wondering if it's really broken or if I'm doing something wrong.

I don't know if you are still having this issue, but if you look at pages 4-5 of the quick start guide, it explains how to download the navigational data. Hope this helps.

Hi! How do you calculate the Mach speed? If I use to an online calculator it says that 300 knots are 0.45 Mach. But the Embraer says something like 0.72 in your video.

Mach varies by density altitude. Best just to let the FMS do the calculating.

Could be the runway doesn't have a SID. its been a while since I flew this aircraft.

hello, thanks for the tutorial, I have one problem with the SSG e170 specifically. When I load in the nose wheel is turned in a positon that is locked, and it disables the pushback function with better pushback, and the default xplane pushback system as well as steering the aircraft. Any help?

There is a nose wheel lock. Look to the left, I believe, and there is a nose wheel steering wheel. Push down on the center.

when i plug in the flight plan into the fmc, for some reason it draws the magenta line strangely. like it plots the entire flight normally but the destination airport draws the magenta line back to the departure airport. it looks like a crazy pink spiderweb.

I found that it draws the vectors for missed approach to infinity, that might be what you are looking at...

The minimums setting is for your approach call outs surely

How about saving and loading co-route? Where are they stored?

Yes...If I recall, it is in the MCDU under performance all the way to the right but I could be wrong on the page. It is in the MCDU.

Comes with the aircraft in the documents.

The nosewheel steering is actually OFF by default during power up. What you did using the tiller, was actually engage the nosewheel steering turning it ON before pushback. It's supposed to be off with ground equipment connected. It automatically engages once hydraulic system 2 is powered up during engine start.

I have no sids or stars any fix?

if you have a navigraph subscription you need to download and install the separate AIRAC file for the SSG. SSG doesn't use the default AIRAC.

@@MicahMesser first, there is no sids, stars, or anything after you select the runway, i have to use xfmc for it, second, when i engage ap put in nav mode and then the plane banks almost 50 degrees and falls to death and it doesnt climb either
