Easily the best line in what's otherwise a pretty bad movie. Hell it might be one of the best lines in all the X-Men movies, as it illustrates just how much Magneto and Prof. X respect one another despite how different they're going about mutant-human relations.

"Don't you know who I am? I'm the JUGGERNAUT, bitch!" was an internet meme that the movie was referencing. The meme is a clip of Juggernaut from the 90's X-Men cartoon that someone had humorously dubbed over with different dialogue that includes that line.

You're assuming they think before saying things. Remember these aren't people that are hard X-men fans, they are normal people watching a movie. To be fair I hate the fact they did that in the movie personally. These movies started by barely getting Rogue right in the movies and they go full circle to making her not the character she should have been. Really frustrating. The problem with reaction people though is most of them say things without actually thinking, and if they don't have a full understanding of the thing they are watching, of course they are going to come to dumb conclusions or dumb reasons for said conclusions.

Okay good, you realize how Xavier came back. BUT! Something not said in the movie, but is said in the commentary, that man without conciousness is Xavier’s twin brother. So he’ll still look like himself Rogue’s power absorbtion has always been temporary, unless she touches someone long enough to keep them permanently, which either kills them or puts them into a coma. And she’s not crazy about doing that. There’s a really good episode in S2 of the original 90s cartoon called A Rogue’s Tale that goes into her backtory and how she has her other powers permanently. Highly recommend And if you want a good adaptation of the Phoenix story, also watch those episodes of the old cartoon

In regards to Rogue she does have the potential to become one of the strongest mutants depending on the powers she absorbs, but the downside is that she HAS to physically touch them. A telepath like Jean could turn Rogues brain off before she’s even in the same city as her. Also in regards to Rogues powers in the comics and from what you see in the Xmen 97 show, the length of time Rogue gets someone’s powers is entirely dependant on how long she touches them. The reason she has flight and super strength is because in the comics she held onto Ms.Marvel (Captain Marvel in the MCU) for so long that she essentially got her powers permanently for free in addition to still having her draining touch.

As much as you two hated Rogue for taking the cure, it's understandable why she would. Going without human contact and intimacy is something very difficult to grasp if you don't think about it and can easily be taken for granted. Imagine not being able to hug the people you love without potentially putting them into a coma. The cure for people who had difficult powers to control or can't deactivate is a valid reason for taking it, like somebody who's power is to permanently radiate harmful radiation or is always on fire or something like that. Also, Rogue only had those powers in the animated series and the comics (for a period of time) because she held onto Captain Marvel for a long time and it lasted longer.

Well I don't get why people get mad about Rogue choosing to touch someone. She can't have a handshake or a hug, kiss, nothing! It's not like she did it because some boy, but for herself and her entire life you know? I don't judge her and yes, the cure was not permanent. The reason this movie didn't go well its because the writers were only try to adapt Dark Phoenix and the relationships between the characters specially Magneto and Charles, Logan and Jean... But later on the producers wanted to force some changes and mixing two different storylines that were actually a great success by itself. The cure storyline is a masterpiece and also the Dark Phoenix but mixing the two at the same time was a BAAAAD choice haha just messy and confusing and even too rushed for a one hour movie. In the comics or even in the animated series they've needed several chapters and episodes to a conclusion. Jean Grey can't do ANYTHING she can think of. Magneto was talking about the matter and how she can control and manipulate. She can't go back in time or have super strength but the mind is the mind. Rogue in these movies they just did so dirty man, she is nothing like that in comics or in animated shows. Rogue can't have the powers of other mutants inside her forever. It's temporary but their struggling minds and suffering is still in her and she channels that with the help of Professor X and so goes on to live more in some balance without going insane.

In the comics Phoenix is able to obliterate entire solar systems within seconds, Rouge would have 0 chance against her. Even in the movies Jean is still a level 5 telepath so she would be able to "see" Rouge's intentions. She's also a level 5 telekinetic so she can erect a barrier around herself that exists even when she is rendered unconscious (just like she did in the lake). Again 0 chance. But I did appreciate your passion. Its really cool that your both geeking out about Marvel. Makes me smile. Look forward to seeing more.

As always love the reaction, with 1 exception. Your take on Rogue. Now it's true, Rogue in the comics ultimately grows to her full potential and retains mutant abilities. Like she's really strong, can fly, and some other stuff, but your reaction was so striking, imo. You really would choose to live with great power, but never have contact. Like no hugs, kisses, or sex? You really think a 18 to 20 yr old woman, that is in love, would want to die a virgin? In the comics/animation, she isn't a virgin, but pretty sure that's because she learned to absorb Magneto's power and then they could have contact. But in these 3 movies that's not a thing, so Rogue's decision to take the cure, makes sense to me. And the fact that both of you reacted the way you did was kind of shocking. Oh well good reaction anyway. I hope you intend to watch the First Class movie series.

There are so many messages in this movie that are hitting home right on our doorstep to today..... The 'fix' to cure the X gene. Isn't this happening right now? It's been a big news topic for months... "I don't like seeing mutants fight against one another....There are things going on in the Middle East/Europe" I mean, need I say more? It's why I both love and hate these movies. It's topics so close to our societies and people love them. Yet, we never learn..... In regards to Rogue making her decision.... To not be able to touch people.... To not be able to shake someone's hand. Give someone a hug. Make love? It has to be one of the most isolating powers of them all. She's completely alone. I mean, how many times have you two touched each other in the making of this video? Probably several dozen times. It's so taken for granted. I am down with her decision...

Even though this movie is objectively the weakest in the trilogy and tries way too hard to mix multiple X-Men storylines together becoming a jumbled mess and really doing a disservice to the Phoenix Saga storyline, I will still say I do enjoy some aspects of this movie as it's probably for some of the most entertaining action in the trilogy and some VFX scenes still hold up like Magneto raising the Golden Gate Bridge. Nevertheless I really am not a fan of how this film killed off Cyclops at the beginning and just wasted James Marsden in all 3 of these movies despite giving his character barely any screentime or character progression despite being the leader of the X-Men and one of the most important characters in the whole franchise. Thank god X-Men 97 came around and showed audiences how cool and interesting Cyclops can truly is

To be fair, the main reason most people disliked the movie actually has nothing to do with the movie itself. It has to do with the Phoenix Fire itself, since it was never supposed to be 'part' of Jean, it is an alien being that inhabits other beings, (which they do sorta retcon.) The main reason Rogue isn't the most powerful in the movies is simply because she didn't become so powerful without the powers belonging to the Avengers, and since at the time Marvel movies were split all over the place between different studios, and Sony didn't have the rights to some of the characters that made Rogue powerful, it left her pretty much without a proper place. The best part (to me) of the movie is that they actually allowed themselves to go completely dark, which let's face it, if this movie didn't exist, Infinity War and Endgame wouldn't exist...

Here's why fans were disappointed with X3: The Phoenix was nerfed, severely. The Phoenix force is a being of immense power that can destroy galaxies. The Phoenix could have wiped out the planet during the final fight, instead she just dusted everyone and was playing with the environment. Also, the movie didnt know what it wanted to be, was it about the cure or Jean and her plight? Because the focus was split they couldnt fully focus on either plot point. And Cyclops was done dirty throughout the first two movies. Dude is basically the mutant Captain America and they cut James Marsden from X3 since he was also filming Superman Returns. Hugh Jackman played such an amazing Wolverine that the series became Wolverine & the X-Men. "Back then" they didnt do more than a trilogy so the way they wrapped this movie up left it open for more but also critical response to X3 killed any (immediate) sequels.

for Achara: The solution to the problem is very simple. We a re a nation of laws. The 14th Amendment guarantees everyone equal protection under the law. If a mutant breaks the law: trespass, property theft, B & E, burglary, robbery, identity theft, flying without a pilot's license, practicing medicine without an medical license, impersonating a law enforcement officer, assault, arson, theft of classified materials, homicide, mass murder, domestic terrorism, whatever; they get prosecuted for that crime and go to prison the same as anyone else. If they use a mutant power against another person, that counts as a weapon for charging and enhancement purposes. If they target humans _because_ they are humans, not mutants, that counts as a hate crime enhancement. If they kill another prisoner or a guard in Federal prison, they get executed just like any other Federal prisoner committing the same crime. The only new statute needed is for telepaths: any non-consensual mental contact counts the same as SA. Reading thoughts counts as both SA and theft of information. Planting suggestions or commands counts as SA, coercion, and kidnapping/illegal detention. If they ever get out of prison, they go on a mental predator list and are not allowed to live, work, or travel withing 1000 m of other people or their residences, just like any top level C predator.

So in regards to Rogue, the reason she is how she is in the movies is cause she's the teen character who joins the group. Think similar to Jubilee in the OG 90s cartoon. She hasn't had time to figure out her powers and not enough in-movie time has passed for her powers to mature. In any X-men media the new character generally is only finding their power and flounders a bit before they get a handle on what they can do. But still, considering Iceman's powers evolved from X2 to this movie...yeah, they still did Rogue dirty XD I'm super happy Kristen is an X-Men fan and am looking forward to all t he future X-Men content with you two as a duo! I remember watching this opening night at midnight. Packed theatre. When the movie was over, you can just feel the collective "eh" in the audience. My friends, who were all fans of the first two, even said at the end: "We stayed up late for this?" While it's far from the worst movie in the entire X-Men film franchise, it's easily the worst of the initial trilogy, and just a bottom tier movie in the series as a whole. Trying to balance both the Dark Phoenix storyline and the cure storyline was a pretty big mistake from jump. Neither should be a secondary plot. Considering the awesome ending of X2, the Phoenix storyline should've been front and centre. To Famke Janssen's credit, she was fantastic in this movie. It's actually cool to see her progression from the timid, almost unsure teammate in the first movie, to being a full-blown threat in this movie. That being said, the movie just isn't capable of juggling the two plotlines, nor is it able to fully make use of all the returning and new characters. Kelsey Grammer as Beast is a highlight, but man, what wasted potential for characters like Colossus who only had 2 lines in the movie; Angel, who served absolutely ZERO purpose to the story; and even Kitty Pryde, who's basically just "the other girl" for Bobby's Iceman. Rogue's storyline is also maddening considering the second movie set her up to have a more active role in the battlefield, only for her to do absolutely NOTHING in this film except take the cure. I know James Marsden was filming "Superman Returns" during production of this movie, but man, his Cyclops was once again done dirty in this flick. Considering we see in the first movie how he's willing to step up in Prof. X's absence and "take care of them," it's egregious to see him all but abandon his responsibilities. Yes, he's mourning Jean, but come on, man: HE was the heir apparent to the X-Men. And considering how Logan steps up to essentially lead the X-Men on the field, it even further makes Scott look like a punk. Such a disservice to the character, that reeks of the fact that they only had James Marsden for a day or two of shooting lol. Unlike the previous two movies, there really was nothing to invest in, story or character-wise in this entry. Just a sloppy and rushed conclusion to what should've been a great 3-part story.

The thing about Rogue's power is she can't really control it. You touch her skin and it just happens. With Scott, his lack of control comes from a brain injury, so that could be overcome eventually. But with Rogue, it seems to be more instinctive, something her conscious mind has no involvement in, like Logan's healing factor. He doesn't make himself heal, it just...happens. Speaking of Logan's healing, in one comic he was fitted with cuffs that nullified his powers. He could still pop the claws, because they aren't a power. They're biological, like a cat's claws. They rest in his forearms, and emerge up through his hands when he extends them. And yeah, this was the last. They didn't expect to be making more, so they just swung for it. It also didn't help that the guy with final say sees the film industry as a means of selling toys, so doesn't care about actual...ya know...quality.

Considering the quality of X-Men: The Last Stand, I should say that the scene in which Wolverine and Professor X had the intense discussion about Jean Grey and the Phoenix is notable for raising the stakes intended by the filmmakers. At the same time, it showed a darker side of Professor X with regards to his immense power over the minds of others, even over Jean Grey. In some ways, it reminded me of the dark side of Xavier which happened in 1993's X-Men #25 (part of the Fatal Attractions storyline) when he did something unthinkable on Magneto.

At the end of the movie, everyone kinda can come back as a character except for Cyclops. Jean Grey is Omega Level Mutant and as Phoenix too she cant die. Professor X transfered his consciousness into the man in the hospital. Magneto and Rogue will regain their powers as the "cure" is only temporary. One thing the movies failed to do is showcase the leadership of Scott Summers/Cyclops and the friendship between Jean and Storm. P.S. Jean would kill Rogue (or anyone) before they touched her. Thats why Wolverine was the only one who could do anything.

Can't wait Kristen to start the two Fantastic Four movies ... after finishing all the X-Men, Wolverine & Deadpool movies.

The Jaugernaut line was referencing a meme of the time in the early Internet video days featuring the X-Men cartoon version.

I’m one of the weirdos who loves this film (it just spoke to me personally, and I never read the comics). It’s actually my favorite out of the original three, but I do still think the next two are even better.

0:43 The actor playing John Grey (Adrian Hough) voiced Nightcrawler in the "X-Men '97" series. Desiree Zurowski, who plays Elaine Grey really DOES look a lot like Famke Janssen. Great casting.

I like X3. I think even more now that we’ve seen The Wolverine and Days of Future Past. The Xmen movies are so good. The only one I didn’t really like was Xmen Origins: Wolverine. Can’t wait for Deadpool 3.
