TV-PG, which is a Y7 equivalent. Wolverine can't say oh shit for example, he has to say oh crap. They did this purely for it to feel authentic rather than any obligation though since the storytelling is overall more mature.

The first episode of X-Men 97 did Cyclops 100% justice than the entirety of the Fox X-Men movies.

Scott Summers is still a total jerk historically. It never got properly portrayed in animation or movies.. Search youtube for it because there is a history of Scott being an over the top jerk and someone compiled a thing about it. "my xmen" "what??"

@@Alex_Logan22 they both said it but that does NOT count as a 4th wall breach... but interestingly there is a comic frame of Franklin Richards saying "come to me my Galactus" Insiders say little kid Franklin and his sister will be a big part of the F4 film, which might indicate some other settings (Negative Zone) for the film (missing time between 1960s and "present day"?) Fun stuff!

The Xmen animated series in the 90s is what made me a marvel fan. I used to watch it religiously with Batman the animated series.

Don't forget Mutant X! That show was funny as hell - I am glad Avi Arad is gone but that was really funny especially the "evil Andy Warhol" villain

I appreciate Morph’s gimmick of just randomly morphing into characters in the X-Men universe - so far we’ve gotten Blob, Angel, Psylocke, Deathstrike,and probably others that I’ve missed

Show is amazing. They knocked it out the park.

This Show is off to a FANTASTIC start ......finally a great one from Marvel Studios

I watched them and loved them.

This show deserves a good 3 or 4 seasons.

The centenal ripping open the roof of the jet then taking cyclops, just for them to rally up..amazing! And the magneto trial! Another Jean Grey! Omg!!

Deep, insightful, emotional, pure X-Men

They seem to know their audience: We have grown up and the writing reflects it, the characters' words have more weight to them. It feels more mature. Choices of words like "tolerance" and "normal folk" hit so hard. The themes are as relevant as they were back then. I loved it and hope the rest of the season will maintain this level of quality.

This legit made me feel like a kid again all i was missing was the cereal

You can tell someone who has experienced real life bigotry is behind this show. They didn’t shy away from some great adult themes. Firing the showrunner might water down this show back to just being another generic super hero show.

The way people feel about dune part 2 is how I felt watching this 2 episode premier 😍

Just saw both episodes. Absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I used to watch it back in the day here and there, but i dont really remember much. I know I loved it as a kid, but decided not to refresh my memory and just jump in. LOVED it. So damn good.

I know where Rogue’s voice actor started here, but 7 episodes later and she’s absolutely killed it. How she cries in 5 and 7, and the dialogue she was given when opening up to Gambit. She’s done a great job

I like how they treat it like its a new show but its technically a new season but if ‘97 does super well it’ll be a step to bring alot of old marvel shows like 94’ Spiderman

Nah.. when she said her first few lines in the kitchen with Gambit, she straight up sounded like Dolly Parton .. and I mean Dolly in 2024.. not in 97. Clearly an older woman.

For me, Episode 1 was a 9/10. Great start to the series. Fantastic development for Cyclops and Jubilee. Also some fantastic action scenes, with Storm getting such an incredible moment. Episode 2 was a 10/10 HANDS DOWN! One of the best episodes I've ever seen of X-Men. The episode took some VERY heavy risks and it did not hold back. Magneto in particular is SO FREAKING GOOD in this. And that ending was incredibly heartbreaking.

Yes. Peter needs to get MJ from the other dimension. Still annoyed about them cancelling the final season of Spider-Man before they resolved that storyline.

X-Men: The Animated Series DID the Age of Apocalypse--it was the 2-parter, "One Man's Worth". Technically. See, those episodes would go on to INSPIRE the AoA event in the comics.

have to admit, watched the firts 2 episides, and boy, the editing, the dialogues, the maturity in which it has been handeled its totaly 204 like not like the chessyy90,s animation......this is not acartoon ,,,its a proper tv series...magnetos acting was awesome...bravoo

This series is off to a great start! I rewatched the original show which was a fun trip down memory lane and they really took what that show was and made it even better! Hopefully the rest of the season is just as good.

Storm stole Cap's Avengers 1 moment and improved it.

I could not agree more. Rogue, she sounds like an 80-year-old woman. They could have used a special effect to fix that. Same with Wolverine. Jean Grey, sounds different too. Jubilee has a new voice actor. I like it!

Love this show so much, hopefully they can work up to Schism and the we can have 2 X-Men shows.

The animation is fantastic! The fights are just awesome, and the writing has been great so far as well.

Getting rid of the writer and replacing him with new writer might jeopardize the trajectory of the shows recent success, especially if the new writers don't have the same vision as Beau. fingers crossed disney doesn't screw this up next season

Wolverine DOES NOT sound exactly the same. Im not too bent out of shape about it but i thought that was the voice your were going to focus on, rather than Rogue. Rogue was fine, i thought. A bit of a rasp but whatever.

If Lenora Zann was not brought back for Rogue, everyone would not be happy. I think we should be thankful she came back to the role. I'm sure the more we hear her, the more you will get used to her voice.

I love what’s happening with Jean and Scott so far as they’re my two favorite X-Men, but please give me more Bishop. Also Magneto is such a badass, more of him as well.

I don’t like Cyclops, but man he is likable here.

@@chazzerous He actually has been cool in the comics for at least a decade. He dropped that Boy Scout BS a while ago. I never liked Cyclops in the live action films or the of the Xmen cartoons. In the anime he is a whiny mess.

Surprisingly great

So far as voices... Storm was absolutely dope. Cyclops' new voice actor totally nailed it. Wolverine's voice in the preview felt off, but it totally came together during the actual episodes. Gambit sounds a little different, but it was still good. Jubes is fine, Bishop definitely sounds different, but it's fine. Morph is fine. Rogue definitely sounds older trying yo do younger. I hope they do some voice correction for her in the future like they did with Luke in the recent Star Wars content. Now Mags sounds very different, and I didn't like it in the previews. But this man walked in and commanded every scene and now I think it's fire and I'm on the Magneto Hype Train.

@@James_Willow Yeah, unfortunately, the old voice actor, Norm Spencer, passed away a few years ago.

Last week i looked up why Cyclops doesn't break his neck when he fires his concussion beams. Apparently the beams come from another dimension so his eyes are pretty much just a window to that dimension so there is no recoil. Then they show Cyclops using the recoil from his beams to move his body. But other than thatI loved the first two episodes and especially Cyclops finally gets his due. He was awesome 😎

@@mathieu100 Meaning there's inherent in-universe rules, so for example if Cyclops just turned into a bear randomly and started teleporting. That violate rule because go against what been established with Cyclops unless their justified explanation. Just because fiction doesn't mean anything can happen.

Marvel Studios may be going through its problems with their movies but so far with their animated shows especially bringing back this one they are knocking it out of the park so far watching the two episodes gave me such nostalgic and great memories and they continue the way how the X-Men series was about racism politics and it just brought so many great memories I enjoy the show and look forward to episode 3 I hope they can keep this great momentum going that it can lead to a season 2 for this show so far

Unfortunately right now I’m unable to watch X-men 97 right now. Right now I’m currently watching the original X-men animated series and I won’t be able to finish that series until the end of this month. The earliest that I will even be able to get around to watching X-Men 97 is early April because I have to finish the original X-men animated series before I can even watch the new X-men animated series on Disney Plus and right now I’m on season 4 of that series.

Cyclops stole the show for me! He broke down like 5 dudes with little to no effort. Love how the new animation allows the characters to more when it comes to the action 🔥
