I actually feel the opposite. This episode had really bad pacing and directing.

It wasn’t Cable trying to prevent Days of Future Past. It was BISHOP. Cable is from further in the future,and he’s trying to overthrow Apocalypse.

Agreed. This is why Sinister is helping Bastion. He is an Apocalypse plant. Mr. Sinister would never want to see the death of mutankind. But he would go along to learn more about nanites and how he could use it in his gene manipulation. Apocalypse is in the shadows. And Gambit will return in later seasons as Apocalypse's horseman Death.

@@kennchooch9744 it depends on the ability, he wasn't as fast as real quicksilver and he can't copy telepathy or teleknesis or teleportation , or like Scots eye beams. He is able to copy some physical prowess not all. I do remember in one story with Mystique as one of the 4 horsemen of apocalypse where she could copy any mutation, I suppose that is the Omega level of that ability to copy others.

@@Bennyforeverandever was good... but not good enough for it to get additional season unfortunately. I did enjoy it too, i binged season 1-3 when i discovered the series, but upon rewatching it does loses a certain charm. Still I WISH we could've get literally 7 seasons, but with a more X-men 97 pacing and character arcs (not exactly the same ofc but similar) But I am glad I aint the only one who enjoyed s3-s4 👍🏻

This episode was amazing. Rogue straight up killed Trask. I expected her to drop him, but one of the others would catch him. Nope. They just let it happen. This shiw is better than a continuation of the original series. This is far better and more like an adult anime.

People forget that Rogue is a reformed villain, like Magneto. Rogue started out as a bad guy. What we saw in this episode was very tame and quite restrained for her, considering the things she’s done.

I can’t believe Disney did this so much justice. Totally expected them to absolutely ruin the nostalgia from my childhood, but instead, there’s so much depth, incredible dialogue (especially with characters like beast and nightcrawler) uhhhg! Love it! Such a faithful adaption!

Bloodlust Rogue was just honestly WILD and dope to see quite honestly

I really loved how the funeral scene had the characters Bella Donna from the Assassin's Guild and both Pierre and Robert LeBeau from the Thieves Guild attending the ceremony. All three of those characters were a big part of the X-Men original series episode about Gambit's origins. Remy LeBeau touched their lives so much that they put aside their hatred for each other and come together to remember the man that Gambit was.

Just one minor correction to mention. In the original series it was Bishop, not Cable, who traveled back in time to prevent Days of Future past. Cable was traveling back in time to fight apocalypse.

Not amplified. Rogue's only power is to drain the life force/memories (and in the case of a mutant or superhuman, the powers) of a person. The only reason she still has her super strength and flight is because she held on to Carol for a little too long and permanently copied Carol's super strength and flight. Normally, the powers Rogue copies would dissipate after a bit and she would have to copy them again, but not with Carol.

The timing of Theo James voice acting is so surreal to me because last week at work I literally told my co worker that Theo James would be the perfect live action gambit… then boom the new episode of 97 drops and he’s voicing an X-men villain🤯

Fun Fact: *Funny that Rogue calls Capt as "America's Top Cop". Steve Rogers once worked as a police officer for NYPD for a bit in old Marvel comics*

Everyone’s reaction to Emma being the mutant found instead of Madelyn was so real bro. This show is amazing.

When they showcased Emma Frosts dormant diamond power that woke during danger I felt was said for Gambit being alive with his dormant Omega power awakening which brings him back to life with his pure energy form that also allows him to touch Rogue.

I hope we get a continuation of Spider-Man. My inner child is still mad Peter never got to find MJ. 😂😂😂

Cap wouldn’t have been able to keep up with Rogue anyway, tossing the shield far away was just her way of saying “If you’re not gonna help then stay out of my way”.

It’s crazy hearing Captain America refuse but he’s against hero registration though.

I distinctly remember Jean reading Cable’s mind in the original series and seeing images of herself (maybe Madeline) and Scott. So I thought at least Jean knew.

The dialog in this series is just so fucking great. I missed this so much. Nightcrawlers eulogy for Gambit just just profoundly incredible. If you don't watch this you're missing out.

They’re making this obvious. This show is for us adults who grew up watching the original series lol. Absolutely love this. May be the best thing Marvel has done since Endgame.

Can I just say Jean Grey isn’t useless anymore!

I found it so ironic and funny that Beast quotes Mr.Rogers and Steve Rogers appears immediately after. But in all seriousness I wonder how Captain America is able to be in the episode since the X-Men series is connected to the Animated Spider-Man series and in that show we learn that Cap was supposed to be trapped in another dimension.

When Morph turned into Quicksilver I was like, “Oh my God!”

Rogue, Beast, and Cyclops all had a similar interaction with people that boiled down to 'Oh, you're not going to help? Go f**k yourself'. I loved it.

I really hope the MCU Rogue is more like the animated series, and that they include Gambit

When Rogue broke down and when she refers to Gambit as her man 💔. I can't help but feel like they are DBZ Android saga-ing us. Making us think Bastion and Mr. Sinister are the big bad then...Surprise!

Cap vs Rogue, who will win? Also, Cap throwing his shield at Rogue 0:01 reminded me of Captain Carter throwing her shield at Dr. Strange in Multiverse of Madness.

You know it'll be great if Mastermind, Sinister and Apocalypse join forces in X-men 97, all three against the X-men and Magneto.

OZT and Bastion become so brutal against mutants, that even anti-mutants support the X-Men.

I hope we get, at minimum, a 3 episode Avengers vs. X-Men arc in season 2 or 3. Such a fun storyline.

Did it ever occur to you that we never saw a more comic accurate Rogue in the Fox X-Men films because she never encountered Carol Danvers in those movies? Carol is the source of all her physical abilities after all.

Rogue was so hot when I watched this in the 90s.. then the xmen films came out and rogue was no where near hot enough. Also rogues voice was hot back then too

@cavgreen1982 Made her so pathetic when in the series she was super powerful complete package. Then all she could do was like drain people in the films while looking like an average waitress from a backwater diner. Stupid young love bullshit storyline that nobody cared about. Sigh

I know why the episode was called "Bright Eyes", but in my head it's "Rogue Rage". My favourite mutant kicking all the ass! Also, was sweet that Wolverine called out for Morph after the Prime Sentinel kicked them across the room. I am shipping Wolverine & Morph!

There's a couple ways they could explain magneto surviving, I think it's more about how Gambit can come back.

X-Men '97 is on fire!! no way they stop🛑 at 3 seasons.

The way Rogue yeeted cap's shield and how she dropped Trask🤣

My inner child is being put on ADHD medication because this series has him spazzing out. 80's-90's babies Stand up

I love that they change the characters on the intro as the story changes. I'm digging this show more than Invincible, glad it has returned strong

Rouge goes off In this one all the twists and loops this is prime x men wow that gotta get gambit back tho

So, Bishop came back to stop a horrible Sentinel ruled future but accidentally let Nimrod through and caused a worse Sentinel ruled future. They thought they dealt with Nimrod but only taught him some things. This show is wild. Was Sinister trying to turn baby Nathan into a Prime Sentinel by infecting him w the techno organic virus?

They probably going to do to Gambit like what they did to Morph in Season 1....kill him off just to bring him back later. (RIP Gambit) Loved how they had General Ross (RIP William Hurt) and Captain America talk n sound just like the live-action MCU versions....even Cable be sounding like Josh Brolin.

Love the foreshadowing of gambits potential
