    The light brightness is adjustable. Dim the lights so you don't look like Casper or an A4 paper.

    Haha, yes, after the video I messed with the brightness. The problem is, once you lower the brightness of the flood the camera adjusts its exposure to correct for that. The camera is always going to expose for the whole scene so when there’s a small item in the frame such as a human with light skin it will have a tough time exposing for that. Adjusting the light did help but still was over exposed. I’m guessing the best option is to point the LEDs completely away from the direction of the camera. This would allow for a more even light distribution. But, that may not be in the cards for the situation.

    @@GeneralExpert wouldn’t an alternative option be to install the flood lights away from your home (like in a tree)? . That way the lights and the cameras will be facing towards your home. Far enough away where subjects will be more than 10-15 away .

    I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. kzread.infoUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.

    Hey Jimmy, I think for the price and what you get (floodlights w/motion detection as well as a HD camera) it's a no brainer if you don't want to spend a fortune on security cameras. Seeing people at night is never optimal no matter what just because it's dark. I have a bunch of Wyze cameras at my house as well at my dad's store and getting power is always the toughest part but at least this floodlight Wyze cam helps make that not as much of a pain point. At any rate there is no cameras on the market that even come close to Wyze Cameras that I have found.

    Wow, thanks for the great video... the light blowing out the image is a concern. I've had to really adjust my outside lighting for my V3's, they're so sensitive already.. I think I'd have to frost the lens covers over on those, almost like leaving the protective film on, or spraying it with a light coating of white spray paint honestly to act as a diffuser. I bet that would do it. For fun I'd try putting a piece of printer paper over the light, even though it would cut the light down I bet the image on the face would retain detail. Just need a 4K HDR camera now Wyze 😆 but really I don't think they need flood lights. I use a infrared flood in my back yard to keep it pitch black but to be able to see intruders perfectly

    I bought one of these outdoor lights and camera but was unable to get it work correctly. This was due to me having to mount it like you did yours underneath an overhang and I couldn’t figure out how to get the camera adjusted for this type of installation. Could you please provide another video showing how you made this camera angle work with a detailed installation from start to finish. The camera when bought new is configured to mount flat against a wall and not as you have mounted yours. Wyze was unable to help and I read in a forum that other people were having the same issue. I had to return mine.

    very helpful review and additional comments. Hopefully in the future as Wyze can identify humans, they will tune with an auto-exposure on the green box identified humans and modify the light brightness appropriately. they do have a human identifer and a face identifier so they should be able to auto-optimize for the light for faces hopefully in a future software and / or firmware release.

  • @Resist4
    @Resist42 жыл бұрын

    The problem with Wyze cameras is the software, it's buggy and they refuse to fix it! And your price at Home Depot wasn't $99, it was $99.98 which is $100. And it's still less expensive to buy it directly at Wyze even with the shipping cost. And you keep referring to each floodlight as one LED, which is incorrect. Each floodlight has many LED lights in it, they aren't just one. And the reason the lights white you out is because Wyze used cool white LEDS instead of soft white or white temperature adjustable LEDS, like they have with their white LED bulbs.

  • @GeneralExpert

    @GeneralExpert

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Dan, thanks for the input. You are correct, $100 at HD. More expensive, but if I had purchased through Wyze I’d still be waiting and you wouldn’t have a video to critique 😉. Also, you’re correct that each light has multiple leds but it’s easier to just say LED. You’re incorrect about the white out though. The reason is not the color temperature of the light, it’s the output of the light and the exposure of the camera. The camera has to expose for the whole frame and unfortunately that means anything lighter in color, like my skin, that reflects more light is going to be over exposed while the rest of the scene is somewhat properly exposed. Really no way around that. ✌️

    Imagine complaining over $0.98. You must be fun at parties. The reason why the lights overexpose him (white him out) is not because of the color temperature of the LED's, it's because the camera sensor isn't properly compensating for the light and adjusting the exposure accordingly. I.e. my computer's webcam has no problem with my cool white led bulbs shining in my face, it just properly exposed the scene so I don't look like a ghost.

    @@EdisonWong2004 Maybe you accept $99.98 as only $99, when it's really $100. Facts are facts Eddy.
