I would have paid more for a better resolution! This camera has to be the best smart home camera! I bata tested this and I can truly say that I will be buying at least 2 more!

I was wondering if there were beta testers! You guys did a pretty good job keeping it under wraps. Yeah I agree though it’s an amazing camera. I will be buying some as well.

It would definitely pique my interest a bit more if it had higher resolution, that necessarily isn't going to stop me from buying one of the V3s because given a sell price and the upgraded features, it's kind of worth it for me. I mostly use mine to monitor the front door to see who's coming there or knocking on the door. Although I very well could get a Wyze doorbell at this time, I rent and don't own, so I can't really modify things too much. Overall I think they're making great technological improvements so far in a very short period of time. Also, they're selling things at a very reasonable price. For right now they've got my attention.

Yeah, now you have to pay for your 12 second video, which was originally free. You paid if you wanted a longer vid. Now you pay for the 12 second one too. Wyze is loosing fans, I’m one!

I watched a few reviews on this camera from home automation channels, and this is the best I've seen so far with awesome comparisons, etc! Great job!

I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. kzread.infoUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.

I got a v3 a couple of days ago and was blown away by how much better the night vision is.

I pre-ordered one in late November, and it came sometime in early January. Set it up, and was instantly impressed when night came around. The low light function worked flawlessly, and for $20, I consider it a steal. I have an Arlo Pro 2 5-Camera system that I purchased for around $750 when it came out in 2017 or 2018, and instantly, there was a noticeable difference. There is only one drawback that I have encountered so far, and that is the fact that it has direct wiring. For around $110 less for each camera, you have better night vision, better quality, and it doesn't need a base station. If you have a power source readily available, then this is the one for you.

I find for Security footage, 1080p really is plenty. I still use 5MP Reolink's and they are flawless with motion detection, person detection, and the fottage is clear, even at 20 feet distance. I know 4K is nice, but I find, from my own experience, that it doesn't make enough of a difference to warrant paying more for a camera. I prefer having enhanced night vision over 4k

I’ve had a V1 or V2 under the garage eaves pointed at the driveway. Everything was black & white most of the time. Then I saw a big pallet full of Wyze cam V3s in a Home Depot. I put the V3 in the same spot & took the old camera inside. I just looked at the view on my tablet. It is like 2am right now. Wow! I could not believe the night vision and color. It almost looks like daytime.

Would be awesome if they would made one where you can but batteries in, when electricity for some reason won’t work it switches to battery.

@@johnhaerle3957 There's a better way. I'm using a USB 12v step up cable to run mine off an Anker 20Ah power bank. It's not as long lasting as a UPS but the cable is only $3 and power outages here are usually less than an hour or two. A better solution would probably be my old car battery. It hasn't got enough guts to last more than a week in my car but could probably run my router full time for a fortnight 👍 (about 90% of routers are 12v DC.)

You can use a portable power bank. Mount the bank and camera indoors unless you get a water or weatherproof power bank. When it's depleted, charge it, put bank when charged.

This cam is a BEAST! It captured a giant spider at 3am that I didn't know existed. It locked in and filmed it until it went to its hideaway. Very clear and at night! Most impressive.

l liked my V2 l purchased in 2022 and still working strong. l purchased the V3 and installed it today. OMG the night vision is exquisitely amazing...so vivid and the night vision is beautifully imagery. Nice review bud!!

This is the first time I’ve been on your channel. I thought this video was very well produced and very professional in contact. I’ve been looking for the Wyze 3 on various websites & have yet to find it for less than $35.00. Have they gone up from $20-$35 and only 10 months? Where did you find yours for $20?

I had never heard of these cameras and was blown away by all of the awesome reviews. Picked up two of them with memory cards for less than $100. I hate Ring. This is the way to go!

I just got the pan cam wyze as my first wyze cam. I am impressed by the price and what you get for it. Also brought the flexible base that you can screw in so I installed it on the ceiling of my living room. I was gonna get the outdoor one until I bumped into this video. Def gonna get this wyze cam 3 for the outside security area and garage

Love the improved night vision from a distance! My v2 had good night vision for watching a room, but any distance further than a few feet was impossible to see. Amazing they crammed all of this into a $20 camera

one of my V2s finally kicked the bucket, been using it outdoors for over a year now just fine then it just fried, time to upgrade!

I really hope they come out with a 4K version

I've had 5 V2's outside under soffits for 2 years and they all still work. Water resistance is the big sell for me.

WOW! The v3 announcement was definitely a surprise for me and definitely checked all the boxes that I wanted (better night vision and water resistant when it rains) as well as keeping the continuous recording and same incredible pricing! And as you said, definitely seems like the outdoor cam is obsolete unless you want it wireless somewhere. Thank you Wyze for being amazing and amazing prices!! Great update and overview video too! I am so sick of charging my Outdoor Cams, I'm going to change my Outdoor cams out and hardwire V3's after seeing this. Awesome review!

lucky for those who got them for $20. these cams have nailed it.

Man, I can only hope this means they're also working on getting an upgraded Wyze Cam Pan out sometime in the near future. I have one that monitors my back yard and having the new tech on it would help immensely, especially if they also make it outdoor friendly.

Great video as always! The v3 looks like what the outdoor cam should have been. I would pay a little more if it had a higher resolution, especially if your using for home security.

Why would they release the outdoor camera still? I bought an outdoor camera with the base station and now I feel like it's useless. If they come out with a battery powered version of the v3, it's a total game changer

Can't believe the quality for $20. Puts into question why other solutions are so expensive in comparison. Shame Wyze are not in the UK.

The V2 Cam that I have set up in my garage can see the vehicles and the garage door without any light. Everyone's set could be different and thanks for sharing your footage.

I’m happy with 1080p, but if they did a 4K cam that has the same abilities as before but enhanced the features and priced at $50 that wouldn’t be to bad. I’d buy it.

Support for 5GHz would be a great improvement. 2.4GHz wifi is just too crowded. My V2's fall offline regularly. They also do not like being isolated from the cloud. I wonder how the V3 will fare in these fields?

I would definitely pay $39 for 4K. While the Wyze app runs full screen on an iPad, I’m still perplexed why the app doesn’t run in landscape nor can swipe between cameras. I would think this isn’t a hardware issue.

@@BlaqViper there isnt at the moment. It can only run on Android TV, Fire TV, and the new Chromecast that was just released that runs Google TV (newer version of Android TV). The reason, is it is only an Android App at the moment, which makes it easy to port it to platforms such as Android / Google TV, and it is compatible with Fire TV because it is based on Android TV.

Some Ebay a-hole is having a "pre-sale" on this camera for $49.99, lol.

The spotlight should help with those low light situations which was also announced but information is limited. Excited about this camera.

It would be very disappointing if they discontinued Wyze Sense, or you have to buy the V2. But I’m hoping that the bridge is inside the V3 camera itself.

Yep, need it. Got to have it. Is there a power cable splitter that you would recommend? I'm going to mount two cameras in nearly the same spot pointing two different locations. I would love to only have one cable running to them if possible

I am curious to. I need to do the same. Did you figure it out snd if do can you share? You could piggy back V2 cameras as it had a plugin in the back thst allowed it. I think they removed it from these V3's.

Has the connection range (antenna) improved over the V2? I really hope a "pan cam" version is just around the corner. The night vision and overall image quality improvements seem worth replacing one or two of my V2's.

Does it support RTSP? Can you get to the live stream/image locally?

I think the existing resolution is good enough. Beefing up the night vision was a good benefit!

Might be possible when/if we see a FW upgrade/add-on similar to the V2’s RTSP FW upgrade. For an immediate solution try the V2 with a RTSP FW upgrade from Wyze’s site loaded via the micro SD card. One can only hope they do the same for the V3.

If it's like my V2, only the initial set-up (and firmware upgrades) needs internet. After that, just give it a micro SD card and power and it will record to the card. Makes a great dash-cam.

I got his video recommended by youtubes algorithm and he seems like the wholesome friend you have who recommends you cool gadgets that doesn't break the bank. Go and subscribe!

I think Wyze is working on a firmware update for RTSP support. Yes it will work with the Echo show and Nest Hub displays.

Nest Hub doesn't work currently, Wyze is working on an update but they have no idea when they'll be able to fix the issue.

My v2 didn't last a full year.. Wish we could get a cam like this with simple RTSP. Most of my WiFi ONVIF cameras cost close to 5x what the Wyze cam costs.

What about with the V2 Firmware add-on? The one from Wyze’s back end site has worked for using RTSP for me! Wonder if they’ll be backwards compatible or release another SD card FW add-on.

@@ethanalloway5946 The FAQ for the V3 indicates they Might make an RTSP update for the v3.. My v2 which I was using already died. I don't plan on purchasing any more v2s.

I am amazed at how well this camera sees at night. I don't even need to turn the infra-red illumination and what looks like pitch black night to my eyes, is dusk to this camera.

Can't wait for someone in South Africa to import them. Will be upgrading an older v1 I have to this and moving the V1 else where. That night vision is really impressive.

Wish that it had panning like my Wyze I have now but ill probably add this one for the garage.

Shutup and take my money now. I'm not shooting YT videos with it so better resolution past 1080p is not needed, IMO. Where do I stick my Wyze Sense bridge into? I guess I'll still need my v2 cam for that. Thanks for the update.

They mentioned something about adding modules on top of the camera on the launch video. That might have something to do with it

I was impressed by the camera, however after time the infrared has darkened. It the beginning with the lights out you could see everything in the room. It’s gotten darker

If they'd add SmartThings support, it'd be all over. But I'm stoked for this.

FYI, outdoor adapter is not yet available for pre-order and will cost an additional $10. An indoor USB power adapter comes with the v3.

That $20 price must have been an introductory special. Almost a year later and I can't find this camera cheaper than $32

How long did it take for the Cam Plus to show up in the subscriptions in the app? I ordered the same deal 4 days ago and Cam plus still doesn't show up in my app.

No would not pay more for 1080p, this is sufficient at this price point

I paid $40 but this is way better than what I had.

@@itsreason3238 If you turn off the IR lights, v2 could possibly see your car, but if there is no street lights, I would suggest waiting for the v3

Event listing on the app is also limited. It will display about a dozen events for a given day.
