Noticing the floodlight is directly pointed to where the camera is pointed. In my experience even my $250 Ring floodlight behaves the same blowing out the details. I worked around this by pointing the light lower than where the camera is pointed or in a slightly different direction and that has worked for me reduce the blown out details.

Hey Jimmy, wish Wyze would take down a product picture you have for the Floodlight were one of the floods is turned facing around a corner with its hood on top. This is not possible because when that floodlight is turned in the position the hood will be on the side. So basically you guys are falsely advertising it.

@@write2warriors i am a Loooooong time WYZE addict err buyers and I just installed TWO Floodlights and the exposure is fine now! I waited till I saw others videos to make sure it wasn’t blown out like it showed here. I liked them so much that I went and purchased a few more!

Thanks for the update. Good to know they are addressing the overexposure issue. It is the only thing I find frustrating with my v3 cams.

The V3 is a significant upgrade as far as video quality. I have 2 of them and sort of made my own flood light/ camera combo. Good moves to try to evade detection.

That spotlight works great!

I got two bulb adapters and they work great 👍

They could adjust the lights and the way it focuses and reacts to exposure in software.

Thanks for the review, I think I'll hold off until I can find a simular wired unit that won't white out and identify at night.

I have that flood ... works great just adjust the brightness of the lighting from your app. You can always diffuse the light with something. I'm purchasing a variety of orange lens filters because I can't stand the white light off the house.

Oh, what brightness did you have the lights set at? Wondering if dimming them to 50% would help the white out effect.

We had a floodlight only and We just got the WYZE cam floodlight with 2 way audio, 24/7 recording and I absolutely love it!! The video has amazing clarity 1080p 4kUHD and the 2 way voice is very clear as well. In my opinion I like this way better than Ring. We don't have any problems with the floodlights making the faces washed out at all at night. The app was also easy to navigate and shows complete set up as well.

I was wondering if a light tint on the lights to take the led brightness or maybe they should put soft white led. I have two of them to install maybe this weekend.I will try it!

What I did is go to the flood light settings and lower the brightness level that fixed the washout for me.

In the video it mentions when you turn the light down the camera adjust's too.

Few comments still even on update: 1) compares quality of Wyze Cam vs Sony (w microSD) and blames poor quality on transmission quality - so add a microSD to Wyze Cam. All mine have it and provide higher quality when I download event. 2) washed out face due to starlight camera on Wyze - you only set to 40% and it dramatically improved, reduce further for results. Also point floods even further away from camera direction - lawn will light up. You are still shining a light in person's face and expect to see clearly (microSD recording will further improve results)

You need to get Into de settings check the light back compensations also the light cannot be directed in the same way as the lens gotta be Inderect lights ...

So how are they addressing the Floodlight/Washout face/light too bright issue. I thought this video would be about that.

I like your reasoning logic. I think I have help about the over exposure pickle. At the end of the day, we want to light the scene less, right? Meaning when you want to record good night footage the 45W LED's need to be off and the camera lens set to auto night exposure plus perhaps IR night lights. Basically when we need to record good footage, we stop the high power lights. "RULES" can be used to accomplish that... set rules to disable flood lights. As clever as your situation requires. Ex: turn off LED after 30 sec after motion or disable LED's on schedule after you get home. After that burglars up for proper exposure. FURTHERMORE... : You can create e a SHORTCUT type RULE to re-enable your flood LED as needed on special days. I am just a random educated smuck with a lot of logical reasoning background. Hope this help you think out if the box to find problem/solutions rather than problems only. 🙂

Wyze should have used lower temperature LED's, instead of cool white LED's. Then a person wouldn't be so washed out. So either Wyze didn't test this product properly or they knew about the issue and pushed it out anyway.

How does power get to the camera? There's no power wire from the base going to the camera.

How can you prefer to charge a battery cam every 3 months which the performance will drop over several month instead of install with patience a powered camera which you don't need to worry if it has charge?

It's all about ease of installation. As he said in the video, not everyone wants to do all that wiring just to power a V3 camera.

Did you know you can adjust the light brightness???

turning down the flood light did not work?

Can the floodlight be used and its motion sensor still function independently w/o camera?, and disconnect the camera and mount it elsewhere for some other use?

yes. You can disconnect and take the camera off of the whole unit and use it separately.

Yeah the battery life on the outdoor cam increase significantly I haven't charge mine in 3months

Is that more because it's not recording clips and giving you alerts? Because if the camera isn't doing anything, then the battery should last for months.

How do you adjust the brightness of the flood light I do not see an option for that

Settings >accessories>floodlight> right on top you’ll be able to lower and raise the brightness

The setting is in the Wyze app and not on the floodlight itself. Xander responded where in the app you can find the dimming. Although it's months later now since you asked so you hopefully already found it! 😊

There is an adjustment in the programming.

Only had it one month and the motion sensor doesn't turn on the floodlights

yes i hate that the floodlight turns on when i view the cam via the app. i'm also struggling to find the right settings so that i'm not getting a notification every time a car drives by my driveway. i've messed with the motion detection sensitivity and i can't find the right balance.....

if your flloodlight has a an extra knock out hole in between the two flood lights you can then use a nipple and extend down also runiing the power from the light and go into another box where tou will use that power for the wyse and also use the box that you have attatched to the nipple as a box to attatch the wyse to

put the v3 in night mode and see if it still washes you out

It could be a scheduling/rule conflict or sensitivity of the pir

It’s on Amazon for $69, I think it’s worth the money.

Hello, just a short question regarding the Wyze cam v3. Do you know where I could order a wyze cam v3 from germany without usury of some sellers? Wyze official conduct shipping to USA, but not to other contries. Amazon germany dont sell the cam and on ebay I just can buy 1 cam for above 80$ and shipping of 30$. He already said he did that in the video.

I just downloaded the latest firmware for this camera and it bricked it. Wyze refusing to correct the damage their firmware caused. Said outside warranty. So they damaged camera and get away with it. Do not download the latest firmware.

Amazon sells the v3. Just buy a new one and send the bricked one back. It shouldn’t have bricked. I had the same thing happen with one of mine.
