When I first started watching wrestling in 1985, he was Luscious Johnny V, the manager of Brutus Beefcake. Like Bobby The Brain, Johnny V had a great sense of comedic timing and was brilliant on the mic. RIP Johnny Valiant

I remember the Valiant Brothers coming to Chicago and pretty much taking over a local wrestling show in the seventies... RIP Johnny

When I first started watching pro wrestling, the Valiant Brothers were in their own first WWWF tag team title run. Luscious Johnny Valiant could cut a promo and run his mouth with the best of them! He was STILL good during their 2nd title run and he MIGHT have been even better as a manager of the Dream Team of Beefcake and Valentine. I watched him during an ALL TOO brief run in Championship Wrestling from Florida as well. It was a SAD ending to a long and Great career. RIP and thanks for the memories.

Me and my brother used to watch them wrestle live in the 70s in Sacramento. The Valiant brothers were my favorite.

So sad, he didn't even live in the Pittsburgh area anymore he would come here about once a month to do an upkeep on his mother's house. His childhood home. He kept it pristine condition as a tribute to her. The gentleman that hit him just didn't see him, it was a walk he had done thousands of times in his life in the driver just didn't see him.

Interesting to note that Bruno Sammartino had passed away literally just 2 weeks after Johnny V. And then Nikolai Volkoff had passed away a few months after both of them. The common link between all the three of them being that Sammartino had happened to fight both Johnny V. and Volkoff and they all died on the same year.

So sad. He was killed while spending time at his childhood home in Pittsburgh because he kept up the upkeep of the house as a tribute to his Mother. The driver just didn't see him. It was a routine he did hundreds of times.

Crazy how he died getting hit by a large commercial truck vehicle when he was crossing the street in his hometown near the Bronx he spent a majority of time before his death since he was already semi retired helping with training young up and coming prospects just several days before his death I was reading an article about it he had appeared in small independent wrestling promotion at one of their shows he was supposedly making a brief return to the ring for an exhibition match for a guy in his 70s he still seemed to look like he was fairly in shape crazy though how death sneaks up on someone like that this just goes to show that death is no respecter of man you can be here one minute in the highlight point of your life and then the next minute you drop dead just like that unbelievable sad 😞

Yep, very sad. Because of rain and lack of lights the driver didn't see him or wasn't able to break in time. Really tragic, life is unpredictable like that.

Michael O'Donnell Demolition came to the WWF in late '86 or early '87 under the tutelage of Johhny V. Fuji became Ax and Smash's manager in April of '87, I believe. Dorsow (Smash) had already replaced Rex by then and was only managed by Fuji.
